2025.01.23 01:26 Original_Clerk2916 The perfect storm
Today has genuinely been one of the worst days of parenthood, through no fault of my wonderful daughter. I had a family emergency this morning that was incredibly traumatizing. It also happened while I was holding my baby, which made it even more terrible. I had to get to the airport to fly home, and then the flight got delayed. My baby has been teething, so she just randomly starts screaming all of a sudden and literally won’t stop for hours at a time. We give her Tylenol and baby orajel, but sometimes it just doesn’t work. It’s been especially bad the last couple days on our trip.
We get to our gate, and she proceeded to cry for 4 hours. We tried EVERYTHING. She was fed, changed, had both meds, snuggled, everything. Nothing worked. She fell asleep for a short period of time basically for the time it took to board. We get settled, and she starts screaming. I’m getting panicky at this point because it’s now on hour 5 she’s crying, I have no tools left to try, and I’m stuck on a plane with a bunch of strangers who are very clearly not happy there’s a crying baby.
She eventually fell asleep on me for the rest of the flight, but the second we get in the Uber, she starts screaming. I’m in the Uber, and the driver starts making horrifically triggering mouth-noises. As someone with misophonia, I literally want to rip my ears off.
We’re almost home, but I’m so exhausted, so overstimulated by all the noises and the smells (lots of perfume and cologne in the airport of course), and I’m touched out. I have literally nothing to give my baby at this point. I feel so exasperated. I hate everyone and everything, and I have a terrible migraine.
How do you parent when overstimulated, touched-out, and exhausted?

Looking to trade in my garmin for an Apple Watch. Checking with the experts if it’s worth getting a plan(line) added. Verizon if it matter or is it best to just run off wifi? I really only plan to use for the basics and counting my steps. I’m open to either but like I said I’m a new user and seeing what’s best option for low need. Also best to just get from Apple Store or Verizon? Thank you!

Just have to scream into the void. I have tried so hard to pass. I cut my hair short (despite liking it better long), wear more baggy clothes, push myself out of my comfort zone to act assertive. And it's still not enough. It's she, she, she, all day long. I hate correcting people, I hate making a scene. I can't bind do to health concerns, my voice is high I guess, but still. Why can't people just ask what pronouns people use before referring to them?

Hi everyone! I know this subreddit is focused on tourism, but I was wondering if anyone here might have advice or experience regarding Thai citizenship.
I’m half-Thai (born in the UK) and currently living in Ireland. My mother was Thai, but she has passed away, and I’m trying to register my birth with the Thai government and confirm my Thai nationality.
I already have my UK birth certificate and a copy of my late mother’s UK passport, but I understand I might need proof of her Thai citizenship, like her Thai ID or house registration. Does anyone know how I could proceed or which embassy to contact for help?
I thought to ask here since many of you may have dealt with embassies for visas or other issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I’ve been in the same office since graduating from college, and am really feeling the need for some change. So far my experience is all criminal, but I’m interested in offices that practice law in others realms. (something like environmental, immigration, public services, etc.) I’m not opposed to in person, hybrid, or remote, and really want to relocate from the East Texas area. I’ve been looking and applying seriously, mostly via LinkedIn, for the past year but have only heard back from a handful of them, and really feel like I must be lacking on how I portray myself on my resume. I don’t work in a position where I would be responsible for projects or percentage increases, because I work in county government, so sometimes it’s hard to compare resume examples online that don’t really apply.

They said something along the lines of, "Wow, you must really love dragons," and I responded with, "Yeah, I like dragon deez nuts across your face." My mother was behind me, sitting at the table with my brother, and she got up, grabbed a bottle of rubbing alcohol and a lighter, and came up to me, trying to spray the rubbing alcohol with the lighter lit in front of the nozzle as she dared me to say it again to her face.
