I made a post here about a year ago talking about how our weekly SF6 attendance numbers had dropped from around 70 shortly after the game's launch to a steady 20-25 about 6 months later.
Well a year later the local is lucky to get over 10 people in bracket. We had 15 this past Monday which was good but not great. Pretty much same names in top 8. 1st place gets a good rotation though and grand finals are hype sets so no complaints there
Strive isn't pulling enough to do one any more. Tekken 8 gets a decent amount of play but is also less than 10 and usually a round robin bracket.
TO also changed fees from $10 venue and $10 bracket to $10 venue and $5 bracket.
I'm curious, how is it faring in your neck of the woods?

2025.01.22 23:18 One-Reindeer8238 Need Help
Someone I know had an argument with their partner last November, during which they were charged with brandishing a firearm and assault. The partner, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time, claimed they felt threatened because the person had a gun in their bag. Later, the partner admitted they just wanted to get the person in trouble.
The court issued a no-contact order while the case was pending, even though the two had been living together. The person involved checked in regularly before their hearing. When the court date came, the partner didn’t show up. Apparently, they had been advised by someone in law enforcement not to attend, as they weren’t pressing charges and the county was pursuing the case instead.
During the hearing, the officer handling the case stated they couldn’t contact the partner because their phone number was disconnected (or possibly provided incorrectly). The court decided to extend the case to give the partner time to appear and issued a subpoena. Subpoenas were left at the shared residence, but when the person checks in over the phone, they’re asked if they’ve seen the partner, and they deny any contact.
The case is now extended to March, and another subpoena has been left. The partner is now unsure whether they should appear in court or continue to stay away. According to the person’s lawyer, if the partner doesn’t appear in March, the case could be dismissed. However, there’s concern about any potential repercussions toward the partner for not showing up, especially since the authorities haven’t successfully contacted them since the incident.
The situation is complicated, and both parties are unsure of the best course of action.

I (23F) recently got a new job that I’m excited about but I’m scared I won’t be able to make any friends.
I know that everyone says not to be friends with coworkers, but I’m new to the city and right now and being alone is pretty miserable, even if I do focus on my own hobbies.
At my last job, my coworkers were super nice but we had nothing in common so I spent a lot of time at work alone. A lot of them were also much older, which is probably another reason why we didn’t have much in common.
Any tips on making friends or not having such a pessimistic attitude from the get go?

Where do you all suggest looking for cases for older models?
I recently picked up my Fire HD 6 from the recesses of a storage bin and started using it again. I forgot how much I used to love this thing. I have been using the app on my iPad for years because I was already using the iPad for school and work, but I wanted less distractions while reading. It's great to read distraction free, but I'd like to get a case for it. I looked on Amazon but the selections are real slim, so I was wondering if there were alternative places to look.
I wish it had a better battery life, so if anyone can recommend a good powerbank for traveling with that would be cool too. I thought about upgrading, but I can read comics in color on it. Plus there's nothing really wrong with it.

And I wanted to say thank you, because I was reading through many comments and posts prior to saying goodbye to my sweet boy on 1/10, and I had forgotten in the moment to ask for a couple whiskers but I was able to text the at home vet to save me some. I was able to bring my sweet boy home today, and the whiskers were set aside in a silk bag. Many tears have been shed. Thank you whoever you were for this comment.
