Currently I am working as a project manager for a decent sized painting company but am making the move to a project manager for a general construction company. So instead of overseeing just painting projects I would be overseeing all trades. Right now I manage all estimates, manpower, change orders, issues clients etc. Basically an entire job from start to finish. I primarily handle only commercial projects. Never any residential. This new co oany I am going to it would deal primarily with residential construction. Question is, what things should I be focusing on starting out to help my transition from PM of commercial paint to PM of residential general construction? What advise would you recommend? TYIA

I had just recently purchased NOW Internet's 200 mbps plan and was looking to install the XB3 Gateway that arrived today, but to no avail. No matter what, the "Online" light, which I assume confirms your connection to Xfinity, never turned on. I even tried 2 different coax outlets.
A technician is already scheduled to appear tomorrow, but if possible I still want to know what went wrong myself. A live chat agent said my outlets probably weren't "activated." But how would they even become deactivated? No one in the house has touched the Cable Box outside the house before. Could it have been our previous ISP, AT&T? But even then - our Internet with them was DSL Internet via a phone line, not cable...
I've no doubt the Technician will be able to identify the issue with ease, but I was just wondering if maybe I could too with your inputs.

 | This is one of the first "sipper" rums I bought so it holds a bit of nostalgia. Hopefully that won't create too much bias in this revisit. When I first saw this in the local supermarket, I was shocked. Ireland isn't known for having great stock of anything, so this felt special at the time considering my wife is Venezuelan and I never usually see products from that country here. However, with a €40 price tag (the cheapest I can see from googling around the country), it was a tough buy, but I got it regardless. Now, with a different palate compared to back then, it's on to the tasting... The nose: It smells decent enough. It's obviously sweet due to the small dosage, but it's also got some fruitiness to it and a nice slight barrel influence. The mouth: The flavour feels alright. Not bursting, but it's there. Sweet with a nice woody character. Very mild spice as well. The finish: Has a very short burn. Flavour survives for a short while, but not long enough to allow the taste to hang around. Final thoughts: While not the most exciting rum, it definitely is a nice little sipper. It's not too sweet when compared with the Reserva Exclusiva, and does hold a small amount of character. Fortunately, nostalgia didn't come into play here and I'm not nearly as impressed with it as I once was. I somehow feel that the beginner crowd or those into sweeter rums might not find this as good as the Reserva Exclusiva and that's fair enough. Being aware that this bottle can go for considerably less than €40 elsewhere, I would still recommend giving it a go if you're at an early stage of your rum journey. Hey!
I'm a software engineer and we have subteams in my team. 2 months ago I was assigned under a new team and the tech lead is pretty toxic. He has a superiority complex, badmouths everyone, and is condescending with comments that can be summarized into "I'm the only good person in the whole team and the other leads dont know what they're doing".
It's starting to affect me as I feel stressed and nerbous about he saying something bad about me and affecting me, making me feel stressed, and in general demotivated and I want to talk to my manager about returning to my previous team as I don't want to be working with a toxic coworker. What could be a good way to approach this without being unprofessional?

It’s interesting to me that so bands like arctic monkeys, foals, libertines, Joy Division (especially), smiths, Slint, godspeed you black emperor, are still massively relevant amongst the youth today. I’m 19, and every venue I go to people are still talking about these bands/still following their music/drawing influence from their sound. For some reason bloc party are completely unheard of amongst young people; I’m a massive fan, but no one else I’ve ever met has even heard of them. I think that’s because they left a half-arsed legacy behind. They had this mysterious, sophisticated, complex and post-rocky sound that reeled people in and over time it’s dulled out and become very surface-level: “there you go looking like a snack / strutting round here in those pum pum shorts / lick lick lick lickety split”, as opposed to “I will tear myself apart if you promise to paint me as a work of art / the flame of desire has taken a hold if I don’t burn with you then I burn alone” (just some various examples). Their output has gone from real art to just 3-min watered down pop-rock. Also when I look on their archived websites I find it so so intriguing, they were true artists who were really trying to do something different and had such depth to their sound. Just listen to the Angel range demos. I think doing a release of those could do great things for them. Sometimes it’s okay to just look back at your past achievements and be proud of what you were once capable of. Music is best when it’s authentic, and at that time it was for them; they were broke students living in London, probs had lots of shit going on and were concerned about their future. It was also a great time to be alive because people were going out to gigs to hear new sounds, as opposed to now where most people I know find that social media and video games r a sufficient source of entertainment. I’m just speculating as I wasn’t alive then but I assume people went out and made memories more. Anyway I’d like to hear people’s thoughts. I may be wrong but this is just my opinion 😃
I think this is a relatively fresh perspective as I only discovered bloc party in 2020; if I were around during the website/forum days, my opinion would most likely be biased.
