I'm looking for someone to have meaningful conversations with—talking about how we live our lives, our perspectives, and what we make of existence as we face the reality of life’s end. I hope to find someone with a similar outlook, so we can figure out the best way to spend our time and share ideas, plans, and insights as we navigate life together.
Some of my reflections and views on life:
- Happiness, for me, isn't found in material things like a big house, an expensive car, or even starting a family. True happiness lies in improving other people’s lives. I understand that, eventually, I’ll die like everyone else, and living solely for myself would be meaningless since everything will end with me. But creating something that enhances others’ lives and persists beyond my time gives my life meaning and brings me hope and happiness. I am committed to dedicating my life to this pursuit.
- I frequently think about the meaning of life in light of our inevitable deaths, as this contemplation shapes my understanding of how to spend my life.
- I'm interested in what to do in life and how to spend it. The typical scenario of finding a job with good pay, buying a house, starting a family, retiring, and dying doesn't appeal to me (but I don't have anything against it).
- Psychology I'm curious about how personalities are shaped, the formation of values and beliefs, the attitude towards personal experiences, goal-setting, and the nature of motivations. I also like to monitor and analyze my reactions and behaviors and practice self-awareness. I am interested in how we make connections with new people, how we become friends and why, how we interact with each other in general.
- Philosophy Exploring the meaning of life for humanity as a whole and for individuals, attitudes towards life's challenges, the nature and pursuit of happiness, and life strategies.
- Self-development I strive to constantly learn something new, practice time management, set goals, maintain a healthy lifestyle, engage in sports, and eat healthily.
- Creativity I love playing various (especially unusual) musical instruments like the kantele, harmonium, and jew's harp. I sometimes create surrealistic photos and enjoy finding unconventional solutions to complex problems.

When I want to switch off my brain after intense and demanding weeks, I enjoy watching anime shows like "Naruto," "Black Clover," "Mob Psycho 100," and "My Hero Academia." I watch them solely for the epic fights. Hey guys, I recently started diving this year (sophomore), and I've been struggling to improve. I can do 103c, 103b, 5122d, 401c, 202a, and 5212d. I'm trying to learn new things like 104c and 402/403c but just can't seem to motivate myself to try. I've tried 104c multiple times and over-rotated hard and smacked hard and now I'm scared to try that. Do you guys have any tips? Also additional question is it still possible to dive at the college level?

2025.01.22 23:16 bigbaffler I keep missing tripple Q mid combo
I have this issue with the tripple Q combo from ult that I cannot figure out for the love of god.
I´m at full ferocity, press R then Q, jump at the enemy and EWQ +Q. Sometimes the second Q doesn´t connect and I don´t know why.
I checked the replays an my E connects mid air, nevertheless my combo breaks because the enemy either flashes or just runs out of AA range and I´m standing there with my Q on CD, 3 stacks and either miss the kill or die myself because I can´t empW.
Why is this? Am I mashing the buttons not quickly enough? Do I accidentially press the second Q after landing instead of midair?
Is this a common mistake that you guys know of? I cannot even replicate the issue on purpose.

 | I have had tooth implant pain ever since I got a tooth implant five years ago. Every time the weather changes, it hurts. They say it’s not too close to the sinuses but is very, very close. I have had three crowns put on it by three different dentists. I keep getting infections under the tooth as a lot of food continuously gets trapped under there. How can an implant be correct if food constantly gets trapped and a lot if it. I’ve dealt with other people that don’t have this problem.  | Working on my first fursuit head (decided to try making a "mouthless" one!) and I'm currently down to the carving. It's made with a dome head base, so it's obviously not fitted to my head at all. How should I get it to fit? Should I just add more layers of foam to the inner sides/back of the head until it feels snug on my head? If that's the case I'm not entirely sure where I should add the foam padding and whether that'll make it harder to line the inside too. I have been playing the game Old World. I am really liking all the royalty stuff. What I really like is that I get to have a dynasty. I get to have kids, marry them off to strengthen alliances, manage my relationships with other nobles. That sort of thing.
I find that the city building and tile improvements get in the way of my enjoyment.
Are there any games that focus more on the stuff I do like and less on the stuff I don’t like?

My (F25) sister (F30) got married 2 years ago and now we haven’t seen each other in almost a year, here’s what happened. Shit went south when My sister got married to a man she only knew for 2 weeks. My sister studied psychology abroad with me and was very independent, happy and free spirited and was one of the most open minded people i knew. So when i mention she got married after knowing her now husband for 2 weeks i’m saying it’s VERY out of character. And as months went on after her wedding she started changing every time we saw her. First it started with her wearing his clothes and never her own, then she started wearing his perfumes and then she started changing her beliefs and values as a person. She quit her high position job and settled for a dead end job that doesn’t require any mental power which surprised everyone because my sister loved her career path and had a semi famous instagram page with over 20K followers which is quite a lot in my country as our population is small. Here’s when things started to crumble. My mother (F53) who’s very emotionally immature and couldn’t for the life of her address any issue in a normal, healthy manner started berating her for her personality change and sending her messages about how she hates who she’s become and how she can’t seem to go anywhere without her husband driving her and then going with her or staying parked outside until she’s ready to leave with him. I know my mother deep down was just scared because her daughter was pulling away and changing into someone that the family didn’t recognize anymore and barely saw her anymore as she disappeared after she married him. but i still did not agree with the way she dealt with the issue and tried very hard to keep the peace but after multiple fights and crying and involving other family members everything got way worse after she got pregnant a year into the marriage and she decided to take the non traditional route in my culture which is to not stay with my mother after the birth (which is the tradition here to help the mother recover and heal with her mother’s help and support and if not done then people start talking because its the mother’s role to take care of her pregnant daughter after she gives birth) People found out and everyone in the immediate family started noticing the problems we’ve been having. At the hospital family and friends started noticing how my sister’s husband would not step away to let the women have their privacy, which is inappropriate in my culture, so everyone started talking and asking my mother what the hell was going on and why was he acting this way and talking for my sister as if she’s not there. And so she went home to her apartment with her husband and we basically didn’t see her for the next 40 days until one day she just showed up at the family house with no warning. We sat together with my other siblings and she was very clearly just trying to not get confronted and just wanted to make things go away. My mother brought up the fact that she went with her husband to my aunt’s house to talk shit about my mom and she said she was just discussing the issues we’ve been having and wanted a solution from my aunt which my aunt denied and said my sister and her husband were just talking shit. And then after a long useless conversation she left and that’s when my mother who doesn’t know how to control her emotions asked my aunt to relay a message to my sister telling her to not come back until she learns how to apologize for the way she’s been behaving and talk about everything. The reason my mom isn’t empathizing with my sister or worry this is an abuse situations is because she doesn’t believe in the victim mentality and especially with my sister who was VERY strong and brave and no one ever could change her mind about anything or tell her what to do. And so, after this message, my sister took that as my mother kicking her out of the family and we haven’t seen her since that day. So… is my mother TA for how she dealt with the situation? who do you guys think was in the wrong? All opinions are welcome this has been a very confusing situation to navigate and i would love to hear what people think.

Someone I know had an argument with their partner last November, during which they were charged with brandishing a firearm and assault. The partner, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time, claimed they felt threatened because the person had a gun in their bag. Later, the partner admitted they just wanted to get the person in trouble.
The court issued a no-contact order while the case was pending, even though the two had been living together. The person involved checked in regularly before their hearing. When the court date came, the partner didn’t show up. Apparently, they had been advised by someone in law enforcement not to attend, as they weren’t pressing charges and the county was pursuing the case instead.
During the hearing, the officer handling the case stated they couldn’t contact the partner because their phone number was disconnected (or possibly provided incorrectly). The court decided to extend the case to give the partner time to appear and issued a subpoena. Subpoenas were left at the shared residence, but when the person checks in over the phone, they’re asked if they’ve seen the partner, and they deny any contact.
The case is now extended to March, and another subpoena has been left. The partner is now unsure whether they should appear in court or continue to stay away. According to the person’s lawyer, if the partner doesn’t appear in March, the case could be dismissed. However, there’s concern about any potential repercussions toward the partner for not showing up, especially since the authorities haven’t successfully contacted them since the incident.
The situation is complicated, and both parties are unsure of the best course of action.
