I'm a 32-year-old male, and my brother is 26. Growing up, I always felt like my dad treated us very differently. He was extremely hard on me, even saying he doesn't like me (though he claims he's joking). My brother, on the other hand, has always been able to do whatever he wants with no consequences.
I worked hard to get a bachelor's degree and a master's, but my dad never really acknowledged my accomplishments. My brother struggled in school and has never had a job, but my dad gives him an allowance and they spend their time drinking and smoking together.
My mom noticed the favoritism too and started speaking up about it before she passed away recently. Now, my dad and brother are like best friends, and I feel completely left out. Everything I do seems to irritate my dad, while my brother gets praised for the smallest things.
I'm trying to build my own life with my wife and focus on my own family, but I can't help but feel hurt and resentful about how my dad treats me. I'm currently limiting contact with him, and honestly, I think going no-contact might be best for me in the long run. I'm just tired of the neglect and constantly trying to fit in when it feels like he doesn't even want me around.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of sibling favoritism? How did you deal with it? Any advice would be appreciated, especially from other men who have dealt with similar family dynamics.

I’m a working professional in my 30s, considering a career change to study medicine. From what I’ve seen, it’s fairly common in the US/UK for mature students to pursue medicine, but I haven’t found much evidence of this being the case here in Australia. Even university brochures don’t seem to provide much clarity.
I’m wondering if anyone here is currently studying medicine as a mature student or knows someone who has taken this path.
I’m aware it’s a significant financial investment, so I’m also exploring scholarship opportunities and other forms of support. I have a partner but no other major commitments, such as children, which might make this transition more manageable.
While I have a successful career, it doesn’t feel fulfilling, and becoming a doctor has always been a deep passion of mine. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

**I need a second opinion on interpretation bc I feel sick looking at these cards and maybe my judgement is clouded or I'm focusing too luck on the negative
! Life has been super difficult so I turned to tarot and asked if I will get into grad school in this application cycle and I read this as a maybe leaning towards a no 7 of cups- which I have always seen as getting lost in the fantasy of things Emperor - I see this is what energy I need to assume. 10 of wands - there is a burden on me because of the application process.

Hello, I don’t know if this is the right subreddit for this (if not please let me know where to go 😊) but I got a job in Wakefield but live in Huddersfield I usually get my sister to give me a lift but her car has finally given up (I can’t drive yet). And I don’t feel like getting a 2 hour bus there and back I work 4 shifts a week 12 hour shifts and the train is fairly cheap and quick. I was looking at getting the monthly season pass but I can’t figure out if it would only be for going between hudds and Wakefield or can I use it on any train? Cause if I can use it on any train that’s great as I visit Leeds a lot otherwise is it worth just getting the weekly pass to go to work and back? Any help/ advice is appreciated thanks <3

is it possible to get 4 ppl into the pool at a hotel if there's only 2 guests registered to the room? i saw a post from a few years back that says its fine, but not sure if anythings changed since then. friends and I are thinking of going for a weekend in june and I imagine the pools get crowded, especially on a Saturday. Just wondering if all 4 of us would be able to access the pool with only 2 registered guests. thinking of staying at cosmo, bellagio or Mandalay bay.

2025.01.23 04:16 rglurker It's almost been a year.
I've had this tank a year now. Started it out as a second planted tank with the intent to stock it with a Daphne colony. Should not have put the whole capsule of eggs. they exploded in numbers. Feeding them got difficult cause I wasnt experienced or prepared. Over fed them spirulina once killing 80% of the population. This also covered everything in a coating of dark organic matter. So I got a large golden mystery snail and moved some pond/bladderamshorn from my main tank to try to clean it up. Turns out tons of food and no predators it's the right combo for a pest snail tank. Who would have known. Probably at least a couple hundred a one point. Didn't want to nuke it with anything so I got 2 pea puffers. Watching them hunt was nuts. 1 week and the bottom was full of shells and no more snails... except the mystery snail. He's was fine. At first. Once all the other snails were basically wiped out (not all the ramshorns were murdered so now i have a bunch of super sneaky ones that move really slow to avoid detection.) The pea puffers started nibbling on him peice by peice. The second i noticed, i moved him. He fine now. I still needed to control the cleanliness of the tank so I got an otocinclus and a small species of pleco. Neither lasted long unfortunately. So I got a couple of large amano shrimps. They put in some work. However I lost the battle to algea for a bit even with their help so i got about 8 small orange ones. Then the green hydra showed up. Then they disappeared. The pea puffers have been in there about 9 months and the orange shrimp about 3 months. I haven't seen the puffers bother the shrimp at all. I try to keep a population of snails in there by removing them from my other tanks or going to petco/mart and askin them ( I've had several excitedly clean out all their tanks for me when I told them what it was for) I also feed them blood worms from time to time which is super cute cause they slurp it up like spaghetti. The tank is now teaming with baby shrimp. Not sure where the clear ones came from since I have 1 large amano, a random giant brown one, and 8 oranges. Maybe they are what people refer to as wild versions ? I don't do much to maintain it (cept with the hydra and algea, i addressed the numbers daily to balance it back out. I wanted a mostly complete cycle in my tank. I feel like I've gotten it. I'm definitely missing some things though. This has been so much fun learning about.
