2025.01.23 04:14 Familiar-Zombie2663 What do you think is instore for the future for Asking Alexandria?

I wrote a whole post but it's gone and I can't be bothered to write it again. Basically, Danny has absolutely zero interest in doing heavy music and has claimed many times he doesn't like that style of music anymore. He's perfectly entitled to that and is by no means obligated to do something he would hate. I wish people would leave him alone.
That being said, the version of Asking Alexandria most of us fell in love with is gone forever and won't be making music. Some people have said they should just change the name since it's a different brand now, but from the inside perspective of the guys, Asking Alexandria has always been the 5 (now 4) of them and not necessarily a style of music. THEY are Asking Alexandria more than the records are Asking Alexandria if that makes sense, this what they've expressed in the past. I agree with them that they shouldn't have to change the name, but that being said, stylistically speaking they are a completely different band now have almost zero ties with old records except for the fact they wrote them and play under the same name.
If they choose to go head on with this new sound then I truly wish the best for them and hope they find more people that strongly appreciate the new stuff and hopefully, for their sake, outweigh the number of fans of the old music so that they aren't being berated by old fans who won't let them go, and so that they get recognized for the talent they have.
As a long time enjoy of their music though, to me Asking Alexandria always been primarily been the metalcore and from England that had a hard go from 2006 - 2016 and in my own selfishness, I would want to see this version make a return. I'm not saying their "dead to me" or anything like that but it's clear now that they're and American rock band with a bit of twang. There's an audience for that and there are definitely old fans that like that, but for most its just a different band now. Lots of bands change, for example bmth arguably had a far more drastic change, but most of the new and old fans still enjoy all aras of their music because bmth played other styles of music that fall under the spectrum of music that their fans listen to, despite having a such a wide variety of music. Where was Asking Alexandria is playing a style of music that clashes with the old style at least to the ears of a lot of fans.
For those who don't know, Danny never legally joined the band again in 2016 but plays with them more as a contactor. This means anything could really happen.
If Danny wants to continue making music with them, I genuinely hope that they can go forward with absolute creative freedom of what they want to do without even a inkling of a care of what old fans or what any fan thinks. I really hope they find strong fanbase who appreciates their new sound and talent because it seems like there was always at least one group of haters during each era who refused to recognized the talent and gave them hard time. It used to be the old metalheads who thought they were just emo kids whining and playing breakdowns and now it's the old fans who won't let them move on and constantly comeback to complain about the new music despite the fact that Asking has made it clear that they're not going back many times.
If they choose to keeping boarding on what they want and what the fans want, I hope Danny steps away, not because I want him to but literally for his own sake. It seems like all this has been weighing down on him and he should be able to choose to let go if he wants. If he does step away, maybe there'll be another vocalist who is more comfortable playing the old stuff too and has fun with it with a desire to make heavy music again.
Overall I have no clue what to expect, I guess I ended up writing a whole post again. What do you guys think?

So me and this girl are from the same University and have known each other since the 1st semester. We are now in 5th semester and things are going really great. Right now my End Sem Exams are going on while the last is scheduled on 30th of this month.
She first approached me by somehow getting my number and talking to me, I in turn reciprocated and asked her out in a couple days only to realise she had come in a new relationship recently and just wanted to make new friends at the Uni. I respected that and it didnt even affect me. And time just started passing by and we grew more closer. By now, we basically know each other's deepest insecurities, family issues, personal issues and everything happening in one's day to day life. Her relationship was actually a good one and I rooted for both of them, but they broke up in Oct 24. Then, she was partially attracted to a guy from her class and some chemistry happend and he forced her to a kiss. Still learning this, had no affect on me whatsoever. I was hearing the rants and possibly telling for solutions, whilst also telling about a girl who kinda seemed interested in me.
Fast forward to this month, she claims he is the most incompatiable guy she could ever be with. So now she is kinda breaking up with him, which I support for I have seen how lame the guy is.
Now my thoughts changed around 4 5 days ago, when we were having a really deep talk on a topic and she was almost sobbing uncontrolablly, it hurt me too. But I tried to console her and then she said something like "I dont even know what I would have done if you weren't there... (along the same lines)". And was like I hope we get a job in the same city, probably the same place after college is over.
2 days later, I badly fucked up one of my exams due to a misprint in the QP and the staff being late to address the issue in the exam hall, I was feeling heavily anxious. So while, returning back to our places we often travel by the same bus. I found the seat besides her was empty, I hopped on there and then just asked her if I she can hold my hands and not really talk (she knew about my situation). She happily agreed to, not saying this is a move or anything. Just trying to imply, we both often find comfort in one another.
Now I am starting to think, it will be really very hard for me to ever find a girl as compatiable with me as she is. I am not saying I have had feelings ever since, I just feel if this hits, it will be my lucky bonus (same for her too). Just almost seems impossible, I find someone as fun and comfortable with me as her given how close we have grown, the conversations we have, the outings go and just name whatever it is.
So any advice from you all will be a lot helpful for me in this situation.

Wife is sick today. That's totally fine. It happens to everyone and it sucks. I'm happy to take care of you and do everything that needs to be done.
HOWEVER...you are not dying. You have a cold. You can still, you know, get up and take care of yourself a little bit.
So like...yes, I'm happy to get our kid dressed fed and off to school in the morning (which is what I do every morning).
Happy to make you breakfast, bring you tea
Happy to go to two different pharmacies for your special brand of cough drops
Happy to make you soup and get you juice at the store and more tea
Happy to pick up our daughter, get her home, fed, homework done
Happy to make everyone dinner and more tea
Happy to get our kid ready for bed and put to sleep
Here's where I start getting annoyed...on any other week it would be fine, but THIS week, I have a big work project that has to be done. It is a hard deadline and requires lots of late nights for me this week so I'm already stretched thin...and that's fine, I can handle it all.
...but when you text me and say "Can you come upstairs and bring me the TV remote, I left it by the TV and I don't want to get up to get it." ...that is when I start to lose my shit.
Like you've been upstairs all day, I've heard you get up and walk around multiple times, laughing at the Office, talking on the phone with your friend. You are perfectly capable of standing up, walking 8 feet and getting the TV remote for yourself. Like did the cold come in a club you in the knees or something?!
What's frustrating is that when I catch this cold next week, I will still be expected to get up, get my kid to school, make myself all my meals, drive myself to the pharmacy, etc. I will not get nearly the same amount of care and attention that I give.

So, two days ago I (24F) visited my mom (46F) and grandma(83F).
I forgot it was inauguration day. My mom is a Trump supporter. I am not. I'm also mixed race with a non-American black father so a lot of his rhetoric doesn't exactly have people with me in mind. I have a bad history with my mom (she was abusive towards me growing up) but visit her because my elderly grandmother lives with her and want to make sure to spend time with my Nana while I still can.
My mom literally cried tears of joy at Trump being inaugurated. She acts as if she has a personal connection to the family, asked me what I thought of Melania's hat (she said it was very Chic) and was praising Trump and the family for hours. She wouldn't stop praising him for hours upon hours. My grandma nor I like him, we think he's obnoxious and setting the country to a bad path.
My mom got upset with me when I said that I don't like Trump, nor am I looking forward to the next 4 years. I said "i don't f***ing like Trump."
My mom was understandably offended and started speaking over me, but went back to being entranced by the inauguration. When she left for work, my grandma and I made a unanimous decision to turn the TV off and went to fact check his "wind turbines kill whales claim".
That's it. I am tired.

Magma has a heating point of 1200 Celsius which converted to F* is nearly 2000 degrees. Both of them should be toast. That little rock isn't going to save them. All around them, chunks of rock are splashing magma everywhere. The theory is thus: Frodo and Sam are dead and the rest of the movie is a dying dream of Frodo reuniting with his friends.
That rock should have been liquefied long before Gandalf arrived. He should have seen two smoking craters where the hobbits previously were. I'm sure there's some in universe explanation but reality and thermodynamics dictate that survival is impossible that close to a Pyroclasctic flow. Even if they did survive (and that's insanely low), the eagles were carrying them too close to the magma so they would still be screwed.
not to mention the sheer heat of the air. In the movie, both hobbits breath fine. Do you know what happens when you breath volcanic air? You die...horribly. Frodo and sam breathed in:

remember when I said the heat was 2000 degrees? that includes the air. Say goodbye to your lungs Frodo, you too Sam. All three of them should be dead in reality but I get that this is fiction so some allowances had to be made for believability but still...this is a sticking point for me.
Not even Eru is going to bring them back from that.
