Hey everyone. I have a bit of a loaded question and I haven't had any luck finding concrete answers around the legality of my situation.
I was hired on as a contract worker for a role in August 2024. The contract is to be until May of 2025. The company is actually wonderful and I'm really enjoying my work. They've let us know they're looking to hire on a good chunk of us permanently when the contracts are up, have provided me with a training role for new hires as well, so I have a strong feeling (and hope) that I'll be considered for a permanent position.
My issue is that I found out I am pregnant at the beginning of December, my due date being in August 2025. I really don't want this to jeopardize my chances of being offered a permanent role, and given I am considered a high risk pregnancy, I don't plan on telling work just yet in the event that I will be leaving at the end of my contract.
Should I be offered a permanent role, I am considering only taking one month of mat leave to heal up, while my husband takes paternity leave from his job for 6 - 12 months since my job is higher paying. My work is a completely remote position as well, so it would work out for us perfectly.
Now my question is this: if I were offered a permanent role, do I need to disclose my pregnancy OR, how far ahead of taking a month off for Mat leave would I be legally required to tell them? I really don't want to screw them over, that's not my intention whatsoever (hence not planning on taking an entire year off) - but I also don't want to screw myself out of the best role I've worked in the entirety of my career. They are an incredibly flexible workplace and they honour work/life balance so I have the highest hopes that I could negotiate something with them. However I've been screwed over so many times in the past, I really don't want to be denied a perfect role just because I'm pregnant.
Any advice/tips/legal speak on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

I got braces around 16 years old and got them off at 18. During my treatment all my adult teeth had already grown in, and they didn't need to do any extractions or IPR. (1st photo is 2 years after my braces were off)
My front and bottom teeth started to angle outward at some point, and made my profile more protrusive (2nd photo). Every dentist/ortho I consulted said I need IPR to fix it because there's no space to move my teeth back.
How come there was space to move my teeth back 10 years ago, but there isn't now? What's the science behind it? Thank you!

I’ve been told about this subreddit before but tonight feels like the right time to finally post on here. I don’t know how exactly to word this in a way that doesn’t come off as condescending to the people that suffer with this condition but this is my safe place to vent about this whole thing.
The woman I’ve been together with for 8 years, my now fiance, has felt the same way many of you feel over another man for the past almost two years. She describes it as limerence and that’s just what I’ll call it from here on out. In my mind it feels like everything I do is compared to the way she feels about him, it’s tested my strength and pushed our relationship to its very core.
There’s nothing on this planet that I love more than my fiance, she’s my best friend, my everything, and I know I’m her everything too. I know she doesn’t wish to feel the way she does about him but I can’t get the thoughts out of my head when it matters most. Whenever I do anything for her I try to go above even my own means in order to try and match her view of this man but I can’t, it feels like even I can’t get him out of my own head anymore but for different reasons.
All this has pushed me to one of the darker places I’ve ever been. I genuinely hate him, almost more than anyone I’ve ever hated in my life, and he’s done nothing wrong. This man doesn’t know, he’s happily together with his partner and their baby, he would dread the fact that someone feels the way my fiance feels about him, but that’s life.
I don’t know where to go from here. There’s nothing on God’s green earth that would ever get me to leave my fiance, but that just means that I have to learn to live with this fact, and sometimes it feels too difficult to. I don’t know, I guess I’m just lost, it feels like everything I do and have done in the eight years we’ve been together has been for nothing because of him.

I have made this cake as per the recipe in two 8” x 2” cake pans. But here’s the thing, while I like layer cakes, sometimes I don’t want all that frosting and a single layer cake will do. I really like this recipe.
Can I make it as a tall, single layer cake in a 9” x 3” cake pan?
If so, are there any modifications I need to make? Baking time comes to mind. Since it will be a taller single layer cake what do I need to know?
