Our neighbour completely disappeared almost a year ago and their house has just sat idle. What's worse, there are rats and other vermin in his garden and home and they're starting to make their way into our gardens and into our homes. A neighbour said they saw him a few streets away so it's possible he lives somewhere else and he's just abandoned his home. We really are at our wits end and have no idea what to do. I've heard this discussion that retconning the sequels because they limit any and all post endor material drastically isn't feasible because we can't just retcon massive changes, but they retconned over 20 years of Legends material.
