I bought this perfect leather jacket 2nd hand and I think It’s so amazing I just take it out of my closet to look at it sometimes. It’s by far the nicest thing I’ve thrifted and all the clothes I own are pretty much 2nd hand which I put a lot of effort into finding. The details, measurements, fading, lining, is all just so perfect that I can’t believe I bought this thing for $35. The buttons and zippers specifically are so high quality!! All of the zippers are from ykk even the zippers for the detachable lining and the zipper in the front is even custom made? (See pics)
I’m wondering if anyone would have an idea of how much this would go for, or even how old it is but I don’t think I’d sell this thing even if it was worth a billion dollars

I’m going to try to keep it brief and simple and I’ve been trying to ask chat gpt but no luck.
Basically from what I remember from the TikTok I saw about it, it’s a zombie movie where a family is in a town when an outbreak of some sort happens and I think they try to leave bht they can’t and are forced to stay in their town. I think they have a basement or a bunker or something and i don’t know if it was specifically at night but there were these things that like scared them that they have to hide from. Basically the main thing I remember is at the end of the movie it turns out the family that we think are the humans are actually the zombies the whole time. And the things they were hiding from were actually humans in hazmat suits I think.
This is very vague as I haven’t actually seen the movie but I’ve seen clips of it on TikTok a while back but can’t seem to find it.

2025.01.23 07:06 Contactunderground ET “Party Monsters”: Prolonged Interactive Encounter in the Queen Valley This in-depth report is based on my detailed CE-5 fieldnotes for an encounter in Joshua Tree on November 11, 1993. A co-worker from our medical center and I interacted with two UFOs for over an hour and a half.
The account was published in the chapter I wrote for the 2012 anthology “Paths to Contact: True Stories from the Contact Underground”, edited by Jeff Becker. Based on my notes, I reconstructed my conversations with co-worker “Misha” to give the narrative a sense of immediacy. This story is not a work of fiction.
I did fieldwork with “Misha” from 1993 to 1997. Based on my experiences with him and Dr. Greer I formulated the category of “Prime Contactee.” These are contact experiencers who have some of the following characteristics: 1. They have frequent encounters with UFO intelligence, usually starting in childhood or adolescence.
- As youths they may become skilled meditators, typically without any apparent adult encouragement or supervision.
- “Primes” have strong psychic abilities that facilitate contact and communication with UAP intelligences.
- Most importantly they serve as a kind of human UFO magnet in that they can request UFO contacts with other witnesses are present. When subsequent sightings occur these witnesses can verify the “Prime’s special relationship with non-human intelligences associated UFOs. All the Prime Contactees that I became aware of during my field investigations were men, with possibly one exception. She was a volunteer contact worker originally from the UK. I did fieldwork with “Tracy Travis” in the summer of 1997. A link to that detailed report is posted below.
During the last week of October 1993, I made plans to lead a team of UFO investigators into the high desert. After numerous phone calls I was still unable to get more than two other investigators to promise to accompany me. For 16 months I had been a Working Group Coordinator for CSETI’s CE-5 Initiative. My original team was beginning to show clear signs of fatigue. The group had carried out almost two-dozen research outings, many of which had documented the appearance of anomalous nocturnal lights. On rare occasions other teams in the CE-5 network even had sightings of structured craft that were definite unknowns. In another words, bona fide UFOs had appeared at our research sites.

This game is meant to be an Idle game, right? So why is it when i leave the game. The only additional money/rewards i get is from the "idle 8x" thing after 2 hours? I feel like a true idle game itd garner coins even beyond that 2 hour bonus.
Itested it and screenshotted my money before i closed the app, and then checked it Before collecting the bonus and it didnt change at all?? Yet my time on the businesses runs through no matter what? Doesnt seem fair at all lol do i need to leave the app open in the background for it to actually be a proper idle game or is my only money collection coming from bonuses??

2025.01.23 07:06 xTorethx Advice/further vent based on old rant about feeling dumb
I posted a rant a while back about feeling too dumb for engineering (not sure if linking it is the best way to repost but I’ve never been tech savvy despite being a computer engineering graduate). Which brings me to the point, I graduated!!! Double majoring in engineering!!!
Anyway, now I work in an engineering adjacent job (most people I work with are engineering grads, but the job isn’t in the engineering field). College was not a piece of cake, but it got much better after I posted the rant around junior year (the worst year, I had to get psychiatric help and couldn’t leave my apartment for days, truly awful times). What I learned after hitting bottom and realizing that the only way was through, and time was going to pass regardless, so it’s best to just ask for what I wanted (like extensions), and if professors said no, then moving on and recognizing that it was ok to no be able to do everything. If I tried to do everything, I’d end up so crushed by my expectations that I would end up doing less than if I prioritized what was most important. It sucked because I felt so irresponsible and dumb compared to my friends, but time was going to move forward so I needed to move on from that block as well. So much easier said than done, but so important to realize for me personally.
Anyway, this is reassurance for other people like me: kind of dumb, kind of irresponsible, and really anxiety filled. I got Cs. I didn’t have a junior year internship. I did maybe half a semester of research, no clubs, no honor societies, or anything like that. I’m not the most personable or socially aware person. Despite all that, I am employed in a job where I get to use some of the engineering skills I never thought I would have or that any entity would find good enough to be worth paying for. This was the only interview I got, but all I needed was one yes. Which leads me to the janky advice section:
- It’s better to be lucky than good. There are way more qualified grads than me who had a hard time looking for jobs, but I was able to get the one job that gave me an interview. That is crazy lucky, but there’s a little bit of making your own luck here. The company is small and recruited from a few schools so the competition was already inherently smaller because it was limited to a few schools and most people at my university with engineering backgrounds were not interested in this field. They were also looking for people with engineering backgrounds, so I was lucky to be in the right group at the right place.
- Engineering jobs are great, especially in government where there’s steady pay and benefits, but other fields are also interested in engineers as well, and if you’re not the best engineer, you can be a very technical and unique candidate for another job.
- Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard. I think it’s kind of a dumb and cheesy aphorism so I more think of it as everyone around me is smart and works hard, so if I work just as hard I can always be right behind them. I’m also not the best at working hard, but I know that I have to work just hard enough to not get completely left behind by talent.
- The only way is through. I like this aphorism, and I find it is both comforting and motivating, yet accepting of deviations from the plan. Thinking that you will get through it, but also thinking that time will leave you behind so you might as well get something/part of the bang for your buck (time). Something is better than nothing and all that.
- Accept the things you cannot change, and change the things you cannot accept. Back to cheesy, but the only way I got up from flailing that I was too dumb to do this, was to accept I was dumb and do it anyway. That forced me to work around the limits I had due to not being as smart or hard working or experienced as everyone else, instead of shrinking away from having to deal with that defect and doing nothing instead. What I could change was doing nothing and being stuck, what I couldn’t change, I worked around so I could have the change I wanted.
