2025.01.23 09:54 HmHmHa Microkorg or Elektron model:cycles?
Few months back, I’ve decided to go almost full hardware for my music, it’s a much more fun and intuitive way of making music for me. I only use ableton for some mixing, mastering and sampling it’s synths.
Right now I have a SP-404 MK2 that I use as my main hardware, it’s where I do my music, get some samples of Ableton or the internet and do my thing.
The thing is, this workflow is cool but I really want a complementary hardware synth so I can avoid using my computer everytime I want to make a song. Using just some sample in my SP404 SD card and using a hardware synth to do my own unique samples.
After some research, found 2 synths that are on my budget and that I really like the sound : The classic microkorg and the Elektron model : cycles.
But, I’m having a really hard time chosing between the 2 as they seems so different. I really like the digital kinda industrial sound of the model : cycles that reminds me of Aphex Twin, Bjork, Boards of Canada, etc. I like aswell the warm analog sound of the microkorg, that reminds me of … well, Aphex Twin, Bjork, Boards of Canada, etc… And that’s why I’m having a hard time chosing.
Well, I’m really into jungle, classic DnB, techno and IDM. And as said before, I’m in love with the sounds of Aphex Twin, Bjork, Boards of Canada, Autechre, etc. Warmy heavy basses, atmospheric pads, industrial clicky sounds, bitish pluck sounds, etc.
Based on that, which of those synths will give me the most of those sounds and the most possibilities of doing others types of sounds aswell ?
I’m open as well for suggestions of other synths that might fit better my needs in about the same budget as the microkorg and elektorn model : cycles.

I want to buy a new pair of trail running shoes. I'm very happy with the Norda 001, but I used them for a variety of purposes, both in the mountains and on a daily basis. Now I want some just for the mountains that will last longer. I want the Norda because they've really worked well for me on the terrain, but I also want to try something new and see what the Merrell are capable of. Are they really worth it?

I just wanted to know if i could controll my usb devices likes keyboard over ZEN since firefox itself doesnt allow that/blocks it. Does ZEN Allow this/bypass this or will i still need chrom as a reserve if i want to get acces to my usb devices?

 | Here we have one of the most recent albums from gnaw their tongues, and to me it might be my favorite. Everything I’ve heard from them is at the very least interesting, and unbelievably punishing however, I don’t go back to those other projects quite as much as this one. This album is to me his most hateful, and don’t get me wrong. His entire discography has been filled with Nilistic and disgusting music, however, on this record, it really feels like a step up in terms of the sick and demented nature of the record. as I mentioned every album by him is quite simply horrifying, but this one is the horrifying elements of the previous records turned up to 11, and that is partly because of how much noise influence is on this record. Don’t give me wrong most of his albums are glorified noise albums with bits and pieces of black metal. But in this record, it seems the only remnants of black metal are the vocals, and beyond that the record is just a noise record. And as you can tell from the sample, I posted on this post it is a unbelievably unhinged and tough album to listen to, however, for a trained ear like myself, it is not tough to listen to, it is simply horrifyingly fascinating and impressive. So I don’t think I will ever recommend this album to anybody except for people who I know has the stomach for it, however, if you can appreciate it, I think this is one of the most ambitious and ballsy releases in the history of black metal. Because this does not follow black metal conventions, sure it is made for a black metal audience, but when it comes too the staticy, wall of noise affect of this record, a lot of of black metal fans simply don’t have the tolerance for that. So to create an album, so unhinged and unapologetic that some of your fans, or people within your circle might not like it. I think it’s something truly commanding respect. 2025.01.23 09:54 tnemom_hurb Is it possible to increase a melee weapon's reach?
Been thoroughly enjoying ATM9 with some friends and we're pretty deep into it. I got a gauntlet from a boss and love it so much I have upgraded it a ton with gems and affixes and soon enchantments but it's an issue sometimes getting close to enemies and thought about finding a way to increase the reach on the gauntlet. After some quick searching I didn't see any items that might increase this specifically cause I use the Reach enchantment but that's only interacting with blocks. Hopefully there is something that does this in the modpack, any help is appreciated! (I saw that apparently the Enderman Traveler's Backpack does this but I prefer Sophisticated Backpacks myself so I'll cross that off)
