As an elder millennial, MGMT was not music I ever cared about. They were popular and I clearly heard their music, but they weren’t on my radar and I never sought it out.
However, a couple of their songs, Time to Pretend and Kids have snuck up on me and clobbered me recently in the past couple of years… evoking a sadness and longing for a past that, for me, their music was literally not even a part of.
Anybody with similar experiences?

TikTok was a great place for me to become aware of current happenings and I would google things I saw on there to fact check. 9/10 times it was correct but there’s always that 10% of false info or exaggerated info to get clicks/views (hypothetic numbers of course, I didn’t actually keep track of what was true v false). Now with the ban and all the people flocking away from the shell of the app that remains, I’m a bit at a loss.
I can’t pay for subscriptions to the New York Times and Washington Post and access paid/subscription newspapers or articles from overseas. The one free article you get to see is blocked out from my view with ads that I cannot close. We don’t get cable and my budget is so tight I can’t pay to stream news sources, and I’d want a variety of sources to form less biased opinions and be able to fact check a bit more accurately.
So, where do you guys typically get your news from? Do you feel it’s trustworthy? I am American but I am interested in global news sources 😊
