First of all, I think climate change is real and is a problem even aside from human activity. On top of that, I think anthropogenic climate change is real as well and is also a problem. So, this isn't a post by some denier or whatever.
BUT, I see these posts and maps and articles talking about how a 3-4 degree global temperature increase will basically render almost everything south of Canada or Siberia a desolate arid wasteland.
And that doesn't make sense to me. We are currently in an ice age, and are on the warming swing of an ice age, and human activity is exacerbating that warming for sure, but the plant has been WAY warmer at different times in the past, and we don't see the world as an arid mad-max style desert. If anything, we see a world that is significantly more dense with vegetation and large swathe of the world effectively becoming a perpetual rainforest for millions of years on end.
Where is this notion that the world getting hotter means it will all turn into a desert coming from, rather than what seems to be the more likely scenario to me, which is that a lot of lands that are now quite temperate become more similar to tropical and sub tropical rainforests.

Διαβασα τα επισυναπτομενα αρθρα (απο το panoramix και το narcohypnosis) και τα community highlights, αλλα εχω μια απορια.
Τα αρθρα και τα posts λενε οτι αρχικα 5 ή 10 μερες πριν μπουμε στρατο παμε φρουραρχειο, μετα νοσοκομειο, μετα παλι φρουραρχιο, κλπ. Μετα περιμενουμε 2-3 εβδομαδες μεχρι να παμε στην επιτροπη αναβολων / απαλλαγων. Μετα διαβαζω οτι παιρνει αλλες 3-4 εβδομαδες να βγει η αποφαση της αναβολης / απαλλαγης.
Η απορια μου ειναι τι γινεται αυτες τις εβδομαδες που περιμενεις πρωτα να πας στην επιτροπη και μετα να παρεις την αποφαση; Σου δινει ο στρατος καποια προσωρινη αναβολη πχ 2 μηνων μεχρι να βγει η αποφαση της επιτροπης; Γιατι σε 5 / 10 ημερες ειναι να παρουσιαστεις.

2025.01.23 16:41 fauxcertain Ethics from sellers realtor? Sabotaging the deal?
We are currently under contract for a home that for some reason the sellers realtor had listed as a tear down. There is some mold issues we are aware of but nothing that's a deal breaker and something we had on the to do list within a year of buying it. During our inspection it came to our attention the sellers property disclosure was incomplete, and there was a collapse in one of the leach fields. Ok whatever, but the inspectors noted everything had already been flagged on the ground, including where there was the collapse... Additionally, the sellers realtor put information about the mold in an area where the appraiser can see, but generally that sort of stuff is not listed in that field. Because the appraiser saw it, he had to make it a condition. They usually do not go into the attic or crawlspace where the mold would be. There is no mold growth in the living spaces and windows had been replaced. While at the inspection, the sellers realtor also informed the appraiser, oh by the way there's more mold in this spot you don't usually look either.
So while we were going to do the mold EVENTUALLY (we wanted to fix the CAUSE first Aka siding and flashing issues), because of this seller realtor, we're having to put way more money up front than we originally wanted.
The selling party is "out of money", but they clearly knew about other issues that weren't disclosed originally (not acting in good faith). I do feel the realtor is more at fault and seems to be trying to sabotage this. We were informed that after our offer was accepted earlier this month they received 2 to 3 back up offers, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with her motivation or what. Would it be worth reaching out to the realtors broker about this?

Hello, in my country we rarely have rain, so it’s either tap water (0.7mg/litre fluoride) or distilled water.
Do I need to buy a water distiller because of the 0.7mg fluoride in the tap water?
The ends of my the lower stems of my chamadorea are browning/greying.
I only water it once the soil meter shows that it’s between moist and dry.
Help because I am either under-watering or fluoride is doing problems.. i also added 2 100w white grow lights from aliexpress (130 leds each bulb) so the plant has light, there’s also an open window 5 meters away from both sides of the plant.

 | What is the consensus on the appropriate action to take when you receive contaminated plate(s) from a vendor? Is is reasonable to request a replacement and/or partial refund, or is it just part of how it goes sometimes? My train of thought is that when you're buying from reputable vendors, you have an expectation of sterile environment and laboratory equipment and if there is contamination then some sort of reimbursement is fair. It's been a couple of days since I reached out to the vendor that this plate came from, and so far I haven't received any response, so I'm wondering if my request was out of the ordinary or if the vendor is not treating me right. last night was my first tarot reading for myself by myself. i’ve been really reluctant to start doing it myself because the two times i’ve had my cards read they mentioned my abuser. i’ve been very emotional lately, and i’ve been getting signs from the universe and lilith, so last night was perfect.
i cleansed my room/area. i set up my cards, crystals, music, and books. i also took some time to relax and open my mind and body to what was going to come. i put intention into everything. when i finally felt ready to start, i called to lilith and asked the question of “how do i stand with you?”. i meant this in terms of our relationship. i just did a single card draw, and i got the two of cups reversed. my tarot set theme is kitties, and what i saw in my card was two cats (one small, one big) eating from the same bowl. the bigger cat had its eyes open still, and the way its head was in the bowl seemed like it was fully into the food. the smaller cat was interested in the food, but reluctant to go all in. i also saw these cats as mother and daughter. i interpreted this draw as encouragement to continue to reach out. our relationship is strained, and i understand why.
i did some other readings with just the universe, and i was basically told to take a chill pill and try to look at a bigger picture with my views and philosophies.
i’m happy with my reading honestly, and i thought i’d share! i’m open to any suggestions, advice, interpretations, etc!! :3
