2025.01.23 16:56 Extension-Stay3230 Should INTPs always try to keep themselves active/busy? Or should they accept their "laziness"?
So I'm an INTP. Now while a question "should" is subjective, I nonetheless ask it based on your guy's experiences/thoughts.
So INTPs are known for being inactive or "lazy". I don't know what theoretical reason you'd give for that, but if you look at it from an 8 function model you have "ignoring Te" and "blindspot Se".
I also know that every INTP is different, and I'm probably not a typical INTP due to other mental conditions, but I find that I get stuck in comfort zones often where my thinking becomes very narrow at times without looking at bigger picture or taking in more information. (Perhaps "Ti-Si looping")
Perhaps one thing which INTPs don't appreciate the importance of is the importance of "just doing". INTPs always want to find an optimal solution, or understand a system before they dive in to solving it, but this takes time.
There are many situations however where sometimes the most important thing is that you're "doing something", at all, regardless of what you're doing. And that activity helps build a momentum. INTPs don't understand this and hence have trouble with "doing". I don't know if this is because of blindspot Se or something else which could be explained by only looking at 4 functions.
But I find that I'm very lazy and even when I build momentum it fizzles out later, but that might be me as an individual and not just an INTP thing.
For a theoretical basis, you could consider mbti or socionic lenses to how the cognitive functions work. A subtle thing is that mbti might emphasis the functions as being preferences, while socionics emphasises the functions as talents. But the theory is always blurry because mbti and socionics are both valid ways of looking at the same thing, although some people will disagree with me and say that mbti and socionics are different, as opposed to my claim they are two ways of looking at the same thing. You can ignore this paragraph and just continue sticking with mbti if you want.
So to get back to the question, do you think INTPs should come to terms with their relative inactivity, or should they always try to keep being active to grow as a person?

Has anybody living in the west end in the area of Hudson and Messer street been woken up the past two nights by a blasting car horn? Early Wednesday morning someone was rapidly blasting on their car horn 5am and again at 530am. Thursday morning it happened again at 3am and 330am. Not sure who is doing this is why and it doesn’t feel like something to call the cops over. Just really eerie and of course annoying to be woken up twice in a night.

Hand selected men and women from across the country will be tasked with performing their own rites of passage into the upper echelons of society. It doesn't matter what culture, past or upbringing you have. All are chosen fairly and with distinction.
One year within the Temple Grounds, made into a summer camp. It is all it takes.
Bringing those without privilege into a life of luxury, Opportunities and connections that would boggle the mind and bring tears to the poor.
On paper, that is all that is required. You are selected from many applicants across the great states, and are tasked with spending the year at the camp. A fun and exciting adventure for the young blooded aspirants. Days of lakeside sun-bathing, hiking and walking the paths of ancestors long forgotten. Activities and team building exercises to create a sense of family.
A big happy family where nothing could possibly go wrong.

They didn't tell you what was expected of you on this trip did they? They didn't tell you anything of note, in fact. I was there when they called us all into the theater, sat us down with a big fun and lighthearted presentation.
A fast-pass to being an elite, or one of the "oligarchs" if you are more politically inclined. Absolutely no red tape or barriers. Just sign the paper, pack up your things and head out into a summer wonderland. One year is all it takes after all.
Do you ever realize how weird it is that they bring the buses in batches? We were the last ones to go. There was..What? Five, maybe six buses before us. And the time difference between them was odd too. Wasn't it?
The first bus left, and then after that the second bus left within two weeks. And the third bus took even longer. Hell it wasn't even summer before our tickets got punched, we're in December and the year is almost up. Last ones in. Most people are just glad to finally get to go, but me I'm skeptical.
It was supposed to be a summer camp, why did some buses leave in October? Why didn't we all go in together? What was with the armored truck leading the buses down the path?
Why did they take our phones before we were able to get onto the bus? Why is there an armed guard stationed at the front and the back? Why can't we take specific things, like razor blades for shaving, sporting equipment and other things that would be deemed 'weapons'.
If it hasn't already occurred to you that something is off, then you are just as naive as the rest of these lambs...

You play as the bright eyed heroine to the story. A girl from whatever background you want, plucked from college and set on the path of the ancestors towards "The Inner Circle". An elitist group that controls much of not only the grand US of A but also a large part of the world as we know it.
On paper, at least the one you signed before entering into the "draw". It is simple...
Spend an entire year at the "summer camp" and when you are done, you are in. Simple as.
But rarely is there anything in life that is both free and easy. There is something else going on but the truth is obfuscated through strictly business smiles, hand waving and of course the good old fashioned "Once you are there, it will all be made clear."
You can't bring your phone, or anything that could be even theoretically used as a weapon. There is a large list of contraband that stretches on for miles, but most people gave up on reading it and instead just trusted their campus directors to tell them what was OK or not.
After all why would trusted professionals lie to you? A silly notion, I know.

The male lead can be changed to taste but by default is a sadistic, dominant, manipulator who stops at nothing to achieve any goal he sets out to. He's not afraid to shy away from a fight, but is smart enough to realize when to cut loses.
Hard to warm up to, even harder for him to be loyal to you. To him, this is just dark fun with the added prize as a cherry. Aloof and hard to read by design, but complexity beneath his superficial mundane persona.
I am open to other ideas to explore with him. As long as the soul of the character remains in tact. If that makes sense?
The time the RP is set in is in the 80s by default, but this can be changed to any time forward of that. 90s to modern.

My dog passed away on November 1st, so it's been nearly three months. I'm starting to wonder if I'm dealing with PTSD that resulted from the night that she died, and I'm the type of person who believes PTSD is generally overused in our society by people who don't actually have it. Not trying to knock those who genuinely have it. I just wanted to describe the symptom which makes me think I may have it.
On top of being sad all the time when thinking of my dog, I keep having this sensation, especially when I wake up from a nap or at night or in the morning, that there is no possible way she could be gone. Like it's not real or it didn't happen. Then I think about how she looked that night as she was lying dead in her kennel when I got home from work. And I get this overwhelming feeling of sadness, anxiety, and anger. But it's the moment where I think it couldn't be real that has me wondering about the PTSD. I've never experienced anything like it in my life and it feels like a moment of strange confusion like my mind is trying to block me from thinking about reality. I don't know if anyone else is going through something similar.

2025.01.23 16:56 Half_Section 22 civic hatchback wiper fluid nozzles issues
I have been having issues with the nozzles spraying,. First it was the rear which jets out one side or the other. Today the front was misting instead of flowing out onto the blades.
Pretty much tried everything from cleaning the nozzles to trying to make sure the reservoir is top off. I think it might be air in the lines, as the driveway is kinda short and steep for its size; also parking engine up or down slope seem so to temporarily fix the issue.
The only other thing could be is I haven't used the maintenence mode last time washing the car.
Anyone else have issues with the nozzles?

I’m a psych major rn with a bio minor but I was thinking about switching. I love abnormal psych but more specifically the research behind WHY these disorders exist and possible treatments. The latter doesn’t really align with psychology too much which is why I’m asking.
Right now I want to go to med school but if I went for a PhD I’d want to do something related to psych. But I’m also thinking about forensic science so I’m really conflicted about what to major in. So far I’m thinking broadly between chemistry, genetics, cell biology and neuroscience (one major), and psychology. Any advice?
