I noticed that most of the physically attractive friends that I’ve had in that past did not know it. My brother and sister (who were both rated an 8 on the rate me sub) also aren’t aware of it whatsoever. I brought up the concept of pretty privilege to my sister one day, and she literally isn’t aware that it’s a thing. My brother is aware of pretty privilege, he attributes his success with women as a consequence of his charisma and confidence. The 3 good looking male friends I have at uni also seem to attribute their success with women to charisma and confidence. Now all the people who claim to have charisma, honestly…objectively don’t have much of it.
Now as a guy who is, in the words of a fellow Redditor “Like a 3, 4 max” I have always just sort of had a feeling that I was physically unattractive based of of how people treated and reacted to me. And I feel like it’s extremely difficult to not be aware of it . However I don’t really meet many people like me out in the wild, so I never get to talk with people about it.

hello hello - changing up the posting style to perhaps draw in more responses, maybe it'll work? maybe not? either way, season 7 of Diablo IV just launched so it's big chillin' for moi
i'm a 30 year old male born and raised in the UK - been around these parts for a long time (not counting my account age) and met some of the most wonderful people, including my fiancé of three years - currently in the process of uprooting my life, getting the proper documents and moving to the US :)
for the time being, I have a lot of down time - as you can imagine with being in a long distance relationship, I spend a fair amount of time by myself when my partner is working, hence why I am posting here and to other subreddits. i'm mostly free in the evenings after I finish work and during the mornings on weekends.
i'd like to find some neat folk who'd like to chat, voice call and possibly play games with during this time, and in return I can offer the following:
- super chill, laid back vibes over text and voice
- a very clumsy co-op partner (for any co-op games)
- someone who enjoys watching stuff together (movies, shows, YouTube)
- someone who always tries to see the funny side of things
- music recommendations from bands you probably stopped listening to years ago

2025.01.23 19:50 jc4ervo Why is Tropico 6 so frustrating?
Especially in the later missions that start you in the modern age, I find it really frustrating that the starting conditions are often extremely bad - without player intervention, the economy usually runs into a deficit within a couple of years, so you're forced to immediately use your limited budget to try and fix this with very little margin for error. Meanwhile, the game throws several objectives at you that you often can't even start without running your economy into the ground. And then there's faction demands which sometimes are actively harmful (like, say, passing laws that lower your liberty rating when there is already a high rebel threat and your starting layout has zero military buildings).
In practice, I find it usually takes me several years to get a handle on things and it feels like there's too many things to balance without clear information on where to start (for instance, insight into your supply chains to see where there are opportunities for industry/specialization), especially since every era piles on new buildings and edicts. This just ends up being frustrating, especially since the game presents every mission as focusing on a particular element of gameplay, but in practice I mainly seem to be correcting an actively terrible starting layout. I realize this is mainly a game about economics, but it seems like I'm missing some core gameplay mechanics here.
Has anyone found a good way to handle this? Coming from Tropico 5 I actually like that you don't have to start every island from scratch, and the cities you're given for the different missions do look very varied and appealing. Is it just me, or are they actively working against the player?

I've been with my current company since late 2022 - it's my first job post-grad. I work for a technology consulting company that does lots of program management for ERP transformations (not the actual hands to keyboard work, but managing the vendor that does that). I've had lots of good experience understanding business processes and what makes large-scale projects successful. I'm hoping to transition away from this line of work into something more marketing-focused, but I'm having a hard time finding jobs that line up with my experience. Most jobs I've looked at are much more boots-on-the-ground creative, i.e UI/UX or software. I feel like being so early in my career is damaging my chances at getting out into a more project management-type role, which is not a fun thought to have.
Should I hunker down at my current job and learn things like UI/UX on the side? Can I even get the experience needed to become employed in that work through self-teaching in a relatively short timeframe? Or are there career paths that I should be looking at that would get me to this point? I'm feeling a bit lost, I don't want to work with ERPs anymore lol. I want to contribute to something that I can point to after the fact, yet working with ERPs is so backend-focused.

2025.01.23 19:50 Hawken_S Kernel Error 41 but I've tried almost everything.
Hello reddit. So I just got a new pc (pre-built) and the thing worked great for about a day then it started to do restarts. It looks like the whole system losing power and then restarting. The event log says error 41 so that was a good place to start for me. Here's is what I tried to solve the issue:
- PSU stress test
- CPU stress test
- GPU stress test
- CHKDSK and SFC commands
- Clean install of windows
- DDU then clean install of gpu drivers
- Updating the bios
- New flash bios
- Replaced the PSU
- unplugged everything but essentials (only thing plugged in was the monitor. not even the keyboard and mouse)
- Turned off any XMP or overclocking
- re-seated hardware
- checked for physical damage to the motherboard

Hello! I'm 13, looking to go on Carnivore diet. I know it works for people pretty well but I just don't know if I'm too young to start. My dad is a carnivore, and I'm thinking of joining him. I'm honestly not a huge fan of meats but I would be willing to do it. I like chicken and fish more though. I'm thinking about doing it because I am a little bit overweight (5'3 130-145 lb or so, though I do have big muscly legs which add to the weight) I've had people tell me I look a lot thinner than I actually am though. I don't eat much food (I have a slow metabolism though) and I eat pretty decently-- lots of eggs (like 4 a day), salads, and poltury like some steak, chicken, and cod. So let me know if you would suggest it for me! I appreciate tips!
