I noticed recently that it’s been a lot harder to find the reptile basking bulbs I use, and after some research discovered that last year the government here in the US moved to ban that specific type of bulb and some others due to energy efficiency. I’ve found countless old posts about the ban going into effect, but zero posts about what to use in the interim or safe alternatives, and also nothing recent about whether the ban has been in talks of being lifted since this type of lighting is needed for animal care.
Does anyone have any useful info or updated news on this?

I’m fundraising to replace my car after a startling accident. Due to a sudden medical event, I blacked out behind the wheel, veered off the dual carriageway I was travelling on, and crashed into trees. Thankfully, I managed to somehow escape any injury, but my car was a total loss, and I was forced to scrap it. As a student, losing my car has been a major setback, and I want to rely on the generosity of the kind hearted people of the internet as well as fellow car enthusiasts to help me raise the money - the funds will be used to cover the cost of a new car and insurance. Recently stopped combination hormonal birth control pills at the end of my pack on January 12th. Previously had taken it for three years. Proceeded to have my normal “period” aka withdrawal bleeding between January 15-19. New round of BC would have started on January 20, had unprotected sex on January 21 using pull-out method “successfully” aka he definitely pulled out in time and then took a plan b within 24 hours because we should have used a condom and had anxiety. My question is I now have an IUD insertion appointment on January 31st. They told me I should wait two weeks after unprotected sex but I have a tight schedule and would be really hard to reschedule that appointment. Thoughts? Is waiting an extra four days going to make such a big difference?
