It's been a month since we last talked. 3 days ago or so she sent a friend request on snapchat but removed soon after. Today she did the same and I did sent a friend request to her, she accepted and I asked how she's doing. I then asked why she added me on snapchat and she said it was an accident (obviously not true since it happened twice).
She was being distant in the small talk so I did the same and the conversation ended quickly. I still want her back. She went trought a lot (her mom is really sick) and I feel bad for her, despite what she did to me. I don't know what to expect and what to do.

I'll try to keep this succinct...
I bought a live-in triplex in 2021 under the assumption that it was all electric. I did a full remodel, and since the water heater always worked, I assumed that didn't need to be replaced and life went on. I had no idea that gas was being delivered to the building.
About a year after I bought my house, I finally had tenants in the building and the utility company came and shut off the gas (in single digit winter temps). Having gas service was news to me... Apparently they had a billing account open for 18 months with no account owner. When trying to get the gas back on, I gave them my information so they could send out an work order. I said "do whatever it takes"... They finally came out and discovered that the water heater was improperly vented, so they couldn't turn the gas back on. AKA the gas service should have never been on and carbon monoxide was being vented into my crawl space. All the workmen who came out said there was no way to vent it properly and best and cheapest option was to convert to electric, which I did. This not only cost thousands but my renters moved out so I lost rental income in the process.
To add insult to injury, I get a bill for almost $800 for gas service... this went to collections once and I told them the story and didn't hear from them for over a year. Now this has gone to another collections company. According to them, when I said "do whatever it takes", I assumed responsibility for the unpaid gas bill. I really just needed the heat back on.
How do I get rid of this forever... dispute or settle? I think I scared the last collections company with the carbon monoxide story... willing to do the same here but hard to tell what the right approach is.
Any advice appreciated, thank you!

2025.01.23 23:20 CuteSparklee People with (very) high myopia how do you correct your vision?
For context in 23F with ~14 prescriptions+ astigmatism . I wear my 1.74 index glasses outside but they are heavy and i started getting irritated on my nose because of them+ vision quality is not great. Idont know how to describe it but the vision is not so comfortable. i find myself wearing my 7 year old pair that is -10 with 1.67 because while it doesnt correct me fully it’s a lot more comfortable vision wise and lighter. I wore soft contact lenses back in highschool for a while before they started suctioning to my eye and got very hard to remove. Optician told me it was due to dry eye. I switch to RGP and while it works and vision is sharp. Discomfort can get too much sometimes. Plus i moved and started living in a big city and take public transports and all. So removing them immediately like i used to when i feel discomfort like i used to back in the day is kind of option.
Honestly for reasons i mentioned i dont have a vision correction method im happy with. Doctors tell me to consider ICL in the future but vision didnt stabilise yet, and long term potential complications are too scary but might still go for it because of how much i overall hate glasses. I heard of hybrid contact lenses and scleras, would appreciate if some of you here wear them and can give me feedback. Especially hybrids since i dont here much abou them. I wonder if they could be bad if i cant tolerate soft lenses, or if in fact they could work. Also i live in europe, and i wonder if some people can recommend any options for fitters since travelling to the US is out of option because of money.

2025.01.23 23:20 SliceTyphoon Thoughts on the new gen of Camry?
I like everything inside of it though I'm a little mixed on the Prius lights and the color-matched grill. (Nothing a few mods can't fix. )
Though I was told there's no v6 or seat setting, I'm wondering if later years might work around that?
I was originally gonna splurge and get myself a used Kia Stinger until I realize these things had AWD and had great gas consumption, plus they look great all around.
Not sure how the modding scene is for these things but I would genuinely like to know what to look forward to. I know that seems vague but I'm coming from a Honda background and was told Toyota was the most reliable on the market.

Back in high school, I had an English quiz where we had just read a book (I forget which), and the question was like "What movie was this book similar too: Snow White, Cinderella, or Beauty and the Beast?" And I had never seen any of the movies so I had no idea what the answer was lol. It was an online quiz so I just ended up googling it.

2025.01.23 23:20 Wisley185 Type resistances now completely negate all damage multipliers
Theoretical change to the way type resistances would work, with the intent of making resistances both more impactful and hopefully preventing Pokemon from simply being able to brute force their way through them, so to speak. So basically, whenever a Pokemon is hit with a move of a type it resists, regardless of whether its a single resistance or double resistance, not only would the damage it takes be halved like normal, but also any additional multipliers or effects that would theoretically increase the move's power would also be ignored. This includes things like STAB, stat changes (both increased attack and lowered defense), abilities, the effects of items, weather effects, terrain effects, any conditional effects of the move itself etc. So for example, if you were to use a water attack on a grass Pokemon in the rain, not only would that attack do half damage, but it wouldn't receive any buff from the rain. Or for example, if you had a burned Guts Pokemon holding a life orb and using facade against a rock type, the Guts ability, life orb, and even Facade's own innate effect of doubting in power when statused would all be ignored and negated. Literally only the move's own base power would be calculated and nothing else would be added to it.
The main idea here is that it should be basically impossible to just "ignore" type resistances by stacking so many multipliers that you essentially overpower and brute force your way through them. With that idea in mind, I also had the idea of resisted moves being unable to proc their secondary effects on their target (like a fire move being unable to ever burn a water type by chance). This would still negate effects that have a 100% chance of happening, but would not negate status moves. For example, Nuzzle couldn't paralyze a grass type, but thunder wave still can. Again, the idea is just to hopefully make type resistances more impactful and harder to just overpower. Also, in this case, it would only apply to effects that effect the target. So an attack that decreases the enemy's defense would never proc, but an attack that has a chance to increase the user's own attack still might (though that attack increase would still be ignored on resisted hits). Basically, all type resistances now come with an innate stronger version of Unaware.

Hola a todos, termine estos dÃas con una mina que bueno, es la tÃpica tóxica re pesada, onda querÃa todo de perfecto, si no respondo en 10 mins hay drama, si me junto con los chicos salà con otra mina, si uso telegram fue para buscar sex, si le dije boluda en un audio me dice que la trate como persona, si hago un chiste nunca se rie y me dice que sea serio, las veces que le hice bromas con que ella era toxica porque es infiel en el fondo se desquiciaba pero feo mal, etc. Todo era problemas la verdad, aunque bueno me enganche un poco pero creo que no es la gran cosa con ella
Es complejo, muy dramática pero MAL. La semana pasada me cortó porque me fui al boliche porque piensa que me bese a todas y me fui al telo (como si fuera fácil jajajajaj). Y bueno de ahà casi no hubo más comunicación, solo bardo eventualmente, nunca acepto mis disculpas. Ella sale realmente una banda de joda, casi todos los fines, y yo nunca me queje de eso, y se cerró con que le puse los cuernos. Cuando ella una vez me acuerdo que peleamos y me silencio las historias de ig, pero mi amigo si la pudo ver y todo eran etiquetas al boliche para que le den descuento y también una dónde estaba re sexy y se agarraba la teta. Es la tÃpica que vos ves como una virga que mira memes o es una enana inofensiva pero tiene un carácter horrible, es turra y tiene un tatuaje en la costilla, nada revelador pero si medio turró quizás jaj
Asà que bueno, después de tanto dolor de cabeza, la bloquee de todo menos de wp, dónde solo veo que vive metiendo cosas tristes, que está sola, que todos somos malos, etc. Hasta que un dÃa me harté y la increpe con que no puede ser tan enferma y que hablemos tranqui, solo recibà insultos y mala predisposición. Otro dÃa ya harto de tantas boludeces, puse una foto vieja con una amiguita en wp, tanto decÃa infiel, toma infiel, y bueno ella la vio, de ahà no quiso hablar más, pero parece que se niega a bloquearme, me pidió que lo haga yo wtf. Encima sigue subiendo sus cosas tristes y que está sola jajaj, me dice nooo nunca volverÃa con vos, se instalo Tinder de nuevo pero por lo visto no le funcionó asà que borro su cuenta jajajaja

2025.01.23 23:20 PresentationSmart317 Lumon are running a Phase III clinical trial of the most recent severance chip. (CONTAINS SEASON 1 SPOILERS)
It occurred to me as I was doing some coursework today that many departments on the severed floor and beyond could be carrying out tasks related to different phases of clinical trials. Lumon might be running a clinical trial of the newest iteration of their severed chip using a fairly traditional framework.
Phases of a clinical trial:
- Animal studies: usually the earliest phase of trialing a drug or device - goats, obvs.
- Phase I/pilot/first-in-human: small groups of humans (20-30ish) to ensure safety - the many examples/mentions of severance that have been implied or explicitly described in the Lumon lore (such as the blue/green prototype) could represent these nascent devices used in first-in-human groups
- Phase II/exploratory/feasibility: slightly larger group (several hundred participants) to look at efficacy of different doses, check for side effects (or bugs?) and examine short-term outcomes and safety profile.
- Phase I and II are iterative until the drug or device is ready for Phase III which would explain why there have been prior chips. Meaning the current severance chip is now considered effective/safe enough to move into the next phase of study.
- Phase III/confirmatory: arguably the most important stage, with larger (ideally thousands of participants), and longer-term (1-4 years or so) followup. Mark has been at Severance for 2 years so could certainly be a phase 3 subject. Irving, having been there for 9 years, may have an older chip and had been part of the Phase 2 group - or got reset on the testing floor a few years ago to update him to the chip intended for Phase 3 study. And perhaps Charlotte Cobel had an earlier version of the chip as a phase 1/2 participant and is being studied on the testing floor.
- The expansion Mark mentions in S1 may represent a move from exploratory to confirmatory testing with a much larger sample population. Hence the empty rooms awaiting more svr'd workers.
- Phase IV/post-approval: ongoing safety and efficacy surveillance, usually involving annual reports to the requisite regulatory bodies (which I doubt Lumon would care about, or which they have the political channels to circumnavigate).
But why? Why are they doing this? I don't think Lumon cares much about the benefit of severance for the individual. People on here have posited that the severance technology may have military applications (as suggested by the card Dylan stole from O&D), or could be in service of prolonging life/immortalizing specific people. This part I'm not clear on. But it would make sense that they'd adopt existing and proven approaches - developed as early as the 1700s - to trial the newest generation of chip.
