I'm still in school for this. And I still don't understand heat pumps. I know there's a reversing cable that changes direction. Does the heated air come from the condenser? And the cold air come from the compressor? I'm taking AC right now and I'm also struggling with low and high pressure. Like the fat line is for the blue/low pressure side. And the thin line is for the hot/high side. I've only been taking it for a week and a half, but I feel dumb. I'm the only girl in my class and I've felt kinda down about not answering as many questions. Any help or advice would be appreciated

2025.01.24 00:39 QueerSpiro AITAH for wanting to go no contact w/ my bio-dad again?
I (27f) have never had a good relationship with my biological father. My mom and him basically went on a few dates when she got pregnant. They only got married because it was what you did when you came from a conservative Christian background. Neither of them liked each other and my mom left when I was 3 months old.
I saw my dad every other weekend-ish (he often would try to get out of his weeks) but he would usually dump me on a neighbor couple who had a kid around my age. He also had a girlfriend who emotionally, mentally, and verbally abused me. I used to ask my dad why she hated me so much and he told me she just wanted me to be âbetterâ. I was 4 or 5. When I was 5, my dad moved back to his home state. I donât remember if we had much contact during this time.
At 7, I went to spend a few weeks with him (and his girlfriend) in his home state. While there, he tried to pressure me into moving in with him when I turned 14. He stopped answering my momâs phone calls and threatened to take me to Mexico. My aunt (momâs sister) who was living in Alabama ended up tricking him by saying she wanted to take me out to lunch and then just took me back to Alabama with her to get me away from him.
I didnât speak to him again until I was 15 and he sent a burner phone to me during school. He blamed all his past behavior on his now ex-girlfriend. I allowed him to be my Facebook friend until I was 18 and it was my high school graduation. He got angry when I wouldnât let him come and him & some friends threatened my mom on a Facebook thread. I blocked him on everything and had to warn my school about the possibility of him showing up.
Now, Iâm 27 and he has tried to contact me many times over the yearsâusually during holidays or my birthday. I finally unblocked him this past Christmas because I was tired of him messaging my mom when he was trying to get to me. I was straight up with him right off the bat and said he couldnât poison me against mom anymore because Iâm too old now. So weâve just been chatting. But itâs been so boring. We donât have anything in common (other than looking alike). I can tell based off his messages he thinks Iâm not very interesting and like, neither is he. I got all I really wanted out of him which was a medical history and now I just donât want to answer his âhow was your weekendâ messages because I donât care!! And I can tell he doesnât either. He never asks me follow up questions. I just donât get why he even tried so hard to talk to me in the first place.
So I want to go no contact again. We donât have any connection. We donât even like each other. Would I be an asshole for blocking him again even if I said Iâd give him a chance?
Note: I do know heâs a narcissist and a liar. I have no illusions heâs a crappy person.

2025.01.24 00:39 Lollysussything Rant about my family, and the danger of wasps
So yesterday my parents I were in the backyard and we saw this cool orange wasp take a spider to a burrow to eat. Yeah itâs cool and all but I can imagine that theyâd be a threat if not respected and given space.
The next day I went outside (relatively far from their burrow) looking at my plants and one of them flew up to my head, scratched around and probably tried to sting me.
I let my parents know about this, and they swept whatever I said under the rug? Calling me âdramaticâ and âover the topâ where really Iâm just being cautious. Because a sting from one of them hurts wayyyyy more than a bee sting and if one of us were anaphylactic, weâd have to go to a hospital.
My mum said that sheâd go outside to try and kill it, which I think is very wrong because theyâre just trying to do their own thing and donât need to be murdered out of fear. Besides they are a rare wasp.
It doesnât help that we plan to have guests later, and weâre going to be playing pickleball and swim in our pool. Which activities are right next to their burrow.. what if one of them gets stung? Hilariously, my parents would likely be super embarrassed, and, and take their anger out on me and blame me!!
Am I wrong for thinking this?

I used to make purchases based on the value of the coin, and its potential for an increase in value after some years. Now, I just make purchases based on my personal liking for the coin, and my desire to have them rather the desire of wanting to sell them in the future.
My question is: Is there a possibility than ancient coins might be at its peak? Maybe based on the prices of common goods and personal incomes, there will be decreases in the amount of money people can afford to pay for coins, and the value of the coins going to be pretty stable and related to the economic value of the $ based on the times. In the early 1900, an owl Tetradrachm would be worth the same kind of money it is today, because the $ was worth a lot then, no?
Collecting coins always been a hobby of mine, pretty much passed in my genes because my grandfather collected stamps all his life. But in recent years, for maybe 3-5 years I was making purchases based on the value as it was an investment (thinking it's good investment)

Hi all.
I have a flight from London Heathrow to Tokyo Haneda (stopover in Beijing) in May 2025
My initial flight got cancelled and they gave me these new flights
Apparently my beijing to Tokyo flight has NOT been confirmed and I'm on a waitlist??
But my London to Beijing (and my return flights) are confirmed..
I've tried contacting my 3rd party booking agency (booking.com) but they are not helpful. For the past month and a half they have been saying they are contacting the airline and haven't received any updates?!
I've tried contacting the local office Air China and they don't pick up. I've tried the London Heathrow air china dpt and they don't pick up. I've tried Air China EU support and they say I have to ask my booking.com team?!?!
Is this just standard and are my flights going to be confirmed soon? I've booked hotels already.
Or do I need to cancel and refund these tickets?
