I a 17 yr old female and I am white. My best friend is Vietnamese and celebrates lunar new year with her family and tells us about it every year. It is a large tradition for them and it’s fun to hear about it. But this year my mom is trying to convince me to give her a red envelope with money. I feel like it would be racist or cultural appropriation and taken the wrong way and that it might hurt our Friendship. I don’t know what to do and my mom is threatening to take this into her own hands and do it herself. I don’t want to be embarrassed by her doing something like this. The only way to really stop her is doing it myself but I don’t feel comfortable doing that. Can someone please help me 😭🙏

It all started abruptly. I used to make daily payments for my lunch using my card in Apple Wallet. Suddenly, payments no longer trigger. It remains stuck on the “hold near reader” screen. It’s as if my phone has lost the ability to recognize the payment terminal. Could you please provide some guidance on how to resolve this issue? Just bought the Fanatec CSL Pedals to pair with my T300RS but as it happens, there's no way to pair it via USB. Having done some research (though a bit late), it seems you need the Fanatec Clubsport USB adapter, sold exclusively by Fanatec. I live in Canada and Fanatec doesn't seem to have any shipping options for our country, even though we're litterally neighbooring the U.S.A, arguably the largest consumer of these products. I'd really appreciate it if someone could link me some kind of alternative site or shipping option? Though, I'm not willing to pay more than the product itself for shipping. Thanks.

I've been drinking almost every day for at least the last 4 or 5 years, and have felt the need to drink to deal with social situations my entire adult life. I almost never drink to the point of drunkeness or a hangover the next day, but I need 2 drinks a night after work to wind down and probably 3 to 4 on weekends to pass the time. Honestly, besides some weight gain I haven't seen any negative physical consequences (liver enzymes have been WNL as well), but I think it's making my depression worse. I drink to manage my anxiety and it's the only thing that has worked (I work out every day, I eat very healthy, I have a job I love, I've tried meditation, I've tried Prozac, I've tried going for long walks, I've tried weed, Nothing helps but alcohol).
I'm in my 40's now and I know that it's only a matter of time before I start to feel the physical effects of long-term drinking. I want to stop before I'm doing irreparable damage, so I made the decision to stop two days ago. Last night was hard but not too bad. Today is hell. I'm SO ANGRY. I think I've been keeping a lot of anger, resentment and anxiety at bay with alcohol and now it is overwhelming. I'm coming to realize how often I've kept my mouth shut and drowned my frustration in alcohol.
I don't even enjoy drinking any more, I don't like the taste of any liquor or beer, but I desperately want to feel calm and happy again so of course I want to drink tonight. I barely made it through my work day without snapping at my patients or coworkers, I'm worried I'll struggle to keep my job (and my marriage) if this rage and anxiety doesn't settle down soon. I guess I just need to hear from someone that this isn't the rest of my life, because it's not worth it if it is.
