2025.01.24 01:53 Maverick-F-14 DCS crash on startup
Hello, wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out. Been at my wits end for the last 3 days trying to figure out a solution to my problem. DCS was working fine until I just updated to the latest version (2.9.12.5336). The game crashes upon startup after the Nvidia logo when I load into VR mode. The game loads up fine in 2d mode.
I have tried repairing DCS and reinstalling GPU drivers with no luck. (4090 and Pimax Crystal).
I took a peak at the error file and while not completey sure how to read it, the last line states -
failed to open (file name) voice chat log for reading. Log closed.
If anyone has any ideas I would be extremely grateful. Thanks.

Is psittacosis the same as the bird flu that is expected to be an ongoing issue. I’ve googled it and read several articles but I can’t seem to find a straightforward answer.
The reason that I ask is that I had reoccurring conditions that was finally diagnosed as psittacosis - I’ve since learned that it is a type of bird flu.
My symptoms started in Dec 2023 and I was finally diagnosed with psittacosis after lots and lots of diagnostics in August 2024
I finally did 3 rounds of antibiotics and no longer test positive and I haven’t had any symptoms for 3+ months but with the increase of stories in the news about bird flu has made me curious.
Can anyone help?

2025.01.24 01:53 FatSapphic Recommendations for 16in MacBook Pro (2023) Cases (& seeking pics of Supcase Unicorn Beetle in green!)
I got my MacBook in August, and my "heavy-duty" case is already cracked and chipping in multiple places. Turns out it was part of a defective batch, so now I'm looking for something a little bit better than Amazon quality.
A few parameters for my search:
- I have a skin on mine and want it to be clear so the stickers on the skin can be visible and readable. This is my top priority after general safety for the laptop itself.
- Speaking of: I treat my devices with care, but life happens. It'll be shoved into bookbags and taken out at work, and maybe slid off a bed once a year or so as a freak accident, god forbid. I try to keep it safe, but shit happens, and I want to be protected in all everyday situations.
- Ideally $50-60 max, the lower the better as I'm a broke college student. I know to some degree I will have to sacrifice quality for the sake of price. (However, if you think a more expensive one would do wonders for me, feel free to mention it regardless)
- I go to college in the midwest, where it can range from 80s/90s in the summer, to the negatives in the winter. Apparently, the major reason why my case failed so quickly was because it was improperly made and the sub-par material cracked with temperature changes. (Anything that wouldn't do that would be appreciated as a bonus, even if it can't be confirmed from the product directly, but you can confirm the material it's made up of will hold up.)
Or perhaps the Unicorn Beetle Clear is the best bet to show off the skin? But then is it too unprotected?
Or perhaps an entirely different brand I haven't read about yet, who knows?
Any info would be greatly appreciated! :)

I recently passed my phone screening for an internship at Northrop Grumman and got an email the next day to schedule my interview. I have one week to prepare and I would really appreciate some advice on what they typically ask and look for. I’m only a sophomore so I’m worried that the fact that I haven’t completed most of my upper division classes will make it harder to secure this internship but I have a year of work experience for a sales and assistant role where I used excel regularly, as well as experience as a camp leader. I’m so passionate about the aerospace industry and this internship would be such an incredible opportunity, and if anyone has had interview experience at this company it would be super helpful to get some advice!

Hi, I was planning to build a new gaming computer and my dad bought monitor early as a surprise and gave me a budget for pc itself according to that budget I can get a pretty good radeon rx 7800 xt gpu(still haven't decided on cpu)build but I encountered a video on youtube saying this gpu is overkill for 1080p and then saw the monitor he bought is 1080p(model name is LG UltraGear 32GN55R-B)
I am concerned that this will limit my performance a lot so what would you guys recommend? Would it be really worth it to sell this monitor at a very cheap price(since it's already used) and go for a 1440p monitor instead?
