 | Dr. Starline is a somewhat divisive character, as he is charismatic and entertaining, but some fans (me included) see him as a Wild Goose Chase personified. You could say, a Wild Platypus Chase. I am not particularly intrigued by his role in the story, especially after his fate in Issue 50. He has big fancy talk, but his overconfidence often screws him over (which is part of the fun with him, I know) But by the end of it, there was nobody who were impacted by Starline, Sonic and Co. barely have an opinion on him (Big oof), and the only character with whom he interacted frequently - Eggman - threw him out of sight, out of mind. He barely left a lasting impression on the world. Of course, you all know that I'm heavily exaggerate this situation. There are obviously two characters who interacted with him - ... So, on a dark and stormy night. I wasn't really sitting there 100 days and 100 nights, thinking of how to make Starline interesting. But it took one inspiration flash, and here I am. I am going to hold it for now, but I'll get to it. I will state this - I know a lot of people think that he did not obersaty his welcome, and don't really want him to come back. I am not advocating for "This should happen in the comics!!!", I am fully sinking in fan fiction. But I'd like for you to hear me out regardless. First of all. Did Starline die in Issue 50? If I go with a No, then I have to explain what he was doing all this time, and I don't want to run the "oh, he's at his new lowest point, but he'll pick himself right back up and try again and again". So I'm not taking No for a solution. I'd like for his death to be some kind of plot point. If I go with a Yes, then that'd force me to make him a spirit. Which is curious, cause Ghosts of the Future comic proved the idea to be worthy. And yet, I feel like two options is not nearly as little as I have. But I'll hold this answer as well, and return to where I started. In the beginnig, I was sitting on my chair trying to see how I could make something out of Starline, and a bery grounded idea came to me. What if I turn what I percieved to be his weakness... into his Power? How does it work? Well, Starline's weakness in my eyes is that he's fighting an impossible fight, that he accomplishes nothing. He tries to indentify the "Sonic Cycle" and use Sonic's and Tail's doppelgangers to combat it. What if I take this trait of his for indentifying meta rules, and turn it up to 11? What if he has a sense, to sense something behind the curtain? The backstage shenanigans that don't actually exist in Sonic's universe, but are able to be predicted? For an example, I'm returning to my previous question. Did Starline die in Issue 50? Yes AND No. His body is dead, nor is his spirit unleashed. But, as many readers point out, there is a rule "No body = no death". What if Starline's pure essence weaponizes this rule? To say it on the uminekonese or zeroescapese, he is in the cat box But he is also not alive. How can he impact anything? Oh dear, we already know how. He already does - through Surge's hallucinations. He doesn't do it consciously, nor is he really present. But as long as Surge wants to find out who she was, she needs Starline to be alive. Because she does, his essence is preservering. Again, he does not do it. The meta rules themselves keep him in an unconformed state. But Surge was made by his, so in the end it comes off as his own payoff. Speaking of payoff, how does he come back to life? Iunno, but let's go with the placeholder scenario. Silver, on Surge's behalf, goes back in time to find out her and Kit's past. This results in a "steps on a butterfly" development, and when the time comes, Starline avoids being crushed. After this incident, he decides to go into hiding and research this sixth sense of his. I mean, even look at his name. Dr. Starline. Story line. May be a stretch, but I'm seeing an inspiration. Not gonna lie, my version of Dr. Starline kinda ends up encompassing many traits that are commonly attributed to Ian Flynn, the man himself, by both his fans and haters. What if Starline's powers ARE the use of references and meta rules to his advantage? What if his power IS *wink-wink nudge-nudge*? Heck, it's going to sound very silly, but, BUT,.. what if Starline will try to fight the MANDATES and try to go Super with the Chaos Emeralds? Just throwing random ideas at this point. He does not need to be overpowered, he can still be prone to mistakes. ... Then I propose another idea, to make one more step forward. Maybe one step too many, but here we go. In Ian Flynn's podcasts, there is a running joke of the fans coming up with different stories of how Starline gets isekai'd into different scenarios. What if we make it... literally what happened? It is meant to be a joke, but what stops someone from going through with it? In fact, why not make him a villain who usurps the Storybooks? Or who can summon the creatures from these worlds to aid him in battle? This could avoid his overfixating on Eggman, although that's likely will be a part of his character either way. Two ideas aren't even mutually exclusive, they can be two stages of his progression in, so to call them, different arcs. 2025.01.24 02:50 Unlikely_Cow7733 My chromebook's screen wont turn on, but the light indicating it's on or charging still works.
This has happened before and all they did was replace the chromebook. For some reason, whenever I get to my house, and it's almost always during night, but sometimes during the day as well. The light indicators work for a few minutes before shutting off. When I try power washing the chromebook (power + refresh) and holding for 10 seconds, nothing happens. I tried charging the chromebook as well, and there is no indication to the screen turning on. This is a school chromebook, and this is the second time that this has happened when I've done nothing different when I get home. Help?

Basically, what’s the first step to receiving official workplace accommodations?
I’ve disclosed to my team that I’m on the spectrum (more of an explanation for odd behavior or occasional quirk) and while everyone is pretty understanding, I’ve been having some issues with my immediate supervisor. I’ve been called combative for asking clarifying questions, unprofessional for exiting a conversation that seemed completed (I’m bad with social interaction and cues), or “failing to communicate” because I didn’t respond to a request/question that was completed by a someone else. Usually things that are completely obvious to everyone else, but slip past me. There have been bigger incidents, but I won’t go into detail.
We’ve had a few informal conversations on how to support me, but nothing is ever implemented and some are directly challenged.
The new general expectations memo came out and while I have no problem signing it, it’s hard for me to meet some of the things listed, and I’m very afraid it’ll be used against me. I’m trying my best, but it’s not enough. I’ve asked for reasonable support and I’m not getting it. My therapist is encouraging me to seek accommodations, but I have no idea where to start. I’d appreciate any assistance.
I’m an OT who has passed probation and works for DSS, if that helps at all. The supervisor is relatively new and none of these problems were a thing under the previous manager who was very accommodating and understanding (they recently retired).
