2025.01.24 06:00 Many_Constant7055 Payroll company didn't deduct any federal taxes.
This morning I found out that federal taxes have not been taken out of my checks. Yes, shame on me for not looking at my paystubs.
I did find out that it wasn't just me. Well over half of the other employees, including my boss, had this happen to them as well. We all owe thousands of dollars because of this.
How often does this stuff happen? I've never seen something like this before. More importantly, how does this happen in the first place?

Hi guys. I’ve realised that the account I currently use (since about 2022, I rarely use it) is the exact same username and stuff as the account I used when I was like 10 aha. Because I’m recently creating more of a Facebook presence for my fundraising, it’s confusing a lot of people and many think I’ve been hacked etc. how can I delete an old account if I don’t know the email/phone number etc? The account probably hasn’t been logged into since about 2016 but I don’t want it to just, exist forever aha.

Logically and emotionally I know we all agree slavery is wrong and even as a fan of the Harry Potter series I see how House Elves are treated knowing they mention laws on how the House Elves are to be treated but those laws don't seemed to be enforced.
I get that Hermione was stabdibg up for the House Elves and SPEW in many ways reflects the civil rights movement and the abolishment of slavery in the Muggle world.
I always took issue with Hermione not listening to the House Elves however. They talked about enjoying their work and wanting to do it. It made them happy and gave them a purpose.
Hermione tried to trick them into taking clothes and being given freedom that they didn't want which sort of defeats her own purpose as she herself was technically mistreating the House Elves as they took these attempts as insults if not threats.
Dobby is the only House Elf we see in the books who actually wanted and enjoys freedom and being paid for his work.
I think Hermione's heart was in the right place but her choice of action was incorrect as the House Elves had chosen this lifestyle whether they were tricked for centuries or lost some war thousands of years earlier and enslaved for so long that this is how they are now or if they always were a subservient people doesn't really matter when they actively resist the freedom offered and find it shameful that Dobby wants to be paid for his work.
