Got a new remote job recently and finally decided to make the jump to move to LA! I've visited a lot over the years and have always wanted to move here. I've been doing a lot of research and have been having a hard time deciding where to live.
Some background on myself if that's helpful. I'm a single Asian American male (33 years old) working in the tech industry. I won't have much of a support network in LA so would like to be in an area where it's easier to socialize, make friends, and to eventually start dating again (preference towards Asian American women). I'm pretty active and like to run, workout, play golf, and hike. I'll have a car in LA too.
I'd like to be in a more Asian centric neighborhood so I was considering Pasadena, South Pas, Alhambra, and Monterey Park. Do yall think these areas are a good fit for what i'm looking for? Or do you think it'll be too suburban for me and difficult to socialize? I think my priority would be social life/dating and proximity to Asian food.

Hello, I know this is probably a very over-asked question on the sub and on Reddit in general, but I want noise cancellation headphones. With googling I’ve found Bose QuietComfor to have the best “ANC” in the market will I be making the right choice if I buy them? Also Bose has another model named CQUltra and another called CQ45 what is the difference here and which is better?
For reference I’ve been saving and I’m willing to spend the almost 400$ on them (although Ive seen people say wait for discounts so thats what I’ll be doing)
Im not very experienced in headphones, I’ve only ever had Apple wired ones and Airpods 3rd gen, so this will be my first over the head pair. I do appreciate something that will give me good quality of music (I changed to Apple music from Spotify for that reason) alongside the noise cancellation.
I will mostly be using it on the go, especially on campus the noisiness is whats spurring me to get a noise cancelling headphones ASAP.
Any reply is truly appreciated.

2025.01.24 06:03 Few-Explorer-3295 (CO) No lease and need advice
So I moved into a house paying first, last, and security. I met these random guys online and month to month in this area but it also means I have no lease. As far as I know nobody in the house has a lease. Except for the guy who "runs" the house. This guy who runs the house is apparently good friends with the real property manager and the property manager basically gave him the house the run. He basically has free reign to do what he wants, he even discussed with me raising rent on a bad roommate until they moved out. That being said, no work gets done on the house, nobody has house keys, and they dudes dog shits in the house. between missing doorhandles, lights in the house being out, and the fact that my shower has a leak into the pantry and we just use a bowl to collect it. I have done significant cleaning to the house that just leads to the area being dirty again. I cant find a clear path to the property manager and i fear reaching out just because i know Ill be evicted once the friends let each other know what was going on. we live in a place that sees multiple feet at a time in snow and nobody will shovel our walkway because everyone is told not to shovel. the back porch is the dogs bathroom, it is covered in snow but there is piss and shit with every step you take. Do I have an rights as a tenet/renter. Can I withhold utilities and rent because the lack of maintenance on the house? I pay a lot of money to live here and think its reasonable to ask for a clean house that gets easy repairs like a new lightbulb for the pantry.

He was 12 years old and suffered from inflammatory bowl disease. He was so tired. He leaves behind his brother, Sebastian. I don't think he's realized what happened yet. I hope he doesn't get too upset. Dax went peacefully at our veterinarians office. Our home feels a little less full tonight. I will miss him immensely. Genuine question. I originally had a series X but gave it to my cousin's kid as a birthday gift because I barely used it. Now I'm living in my first apartment, and while I do have a PC, sometimes I'd rather sit on the couch and use my TV I bought, that only gets used for movies and TV. (TCL Q7 4K 120HZ).
Trying to decipher and decide which console I should buy.
Looking at the Xbox because I used to be a specific Xbox-only gamer. But debating on if I need the power of the Series X once again or just the Series S
Switch because I have friends over sometimes and it'd be fun to play with them, only con is- idk how much I'd play it myself, and the Switch Games are expensive
PS5- Mainly because of the exclusives. Looking at the regular and Digital/Slim PS5 cuz I don't think the PS5 Pro is worth it.
Any ideas?

I moved to America when I was 13 years old. Before that, I was really close to one of my cousins. But after I moved, he started asking me for things I didn’t even know how to help with. At 13 years old, I was trying to adjust to a new life, learn English, and figure things out for myself. But he kept asking me to help him find a scholarship so he could come to America. I found a few random links and sent them to him, but when his older brother asked me how to apply, I couldn’t help because I didn’t come here on a scholarship myself.
Fast forward to when I turned 18. I had saved up enough to buy my first car, and he asked me how much it cost compared to our home country. I explained how hard I had to work just to afford the car and keep up with the expenses. Two weeks later, he started asking me to help him set up Cash App, even though it’s not available in our home country. I explained that you need a Social Security number, a U.S. phone number, and an address, but he kept pressuring me.
Eventually, I asked my older brother for advice. He warned me not to give my cousin any personal information because he could use it to scam people, and the IRS would hold me responsible, not him. After hearing that, I stopped responding to my cousin. I was tired of saying no every day and felt like he didn’t respect my boundaries.
Now, years later, I spoke to my aunt for the first time in five years. She made me feel bad, saying I ghosted my cousin and that I was supposed to help him come to America, “like family is supposed to help each other.” She doesn’t realize that when I moved here, I was barely speaking English, just trying to survive and adapt. My priority was learning the language and working hard to support myself—not figuring out how to bring other people here, especially when I was just a teenager.
On top of that, the only way for my cousin to come here now would be for me to marry him, which I’m absolutely not going to do. So I’m left wondering—was I wrong for cutting him off and focusing on my own life instead of constantly giving in to his demands?”

This happened 3 times in the last week. I’m 6 weeks post op. I recently moved into a house with two big dogs and I’m getting adjusted to living with them. For the most part it’s been great but they accidentally bumped into my leg while passing by and it hurt so bad. I was sitting on the couch and my legs were extended out, both of them have brushed against the sole of my foot and my leg moved to the side slightly. Will I be ok? I’m worried about my graft 🥺 I feel like I’ll be ok but I need some reassurance.
