Hello,
I am seeking some opinions in regards to what is currently happening to my cat. Around 3 days ago, my family noticed that whenever my cat sat down, he left behind a droplet of urine. They took him to the vet, which diagnosed him with Cystitis and prescribed him antibiotics. After the first dose of antibiotics, his conditioned seemed to improve slightly. However, a few hours after the 2nd dose, while left unattended, my cat started peeing everywhere, and I mean everywhere in the house.
When he urinates, he still takes the specific stance that cats usually take, sitting down with his tail raised and slightly shaking, which I guess indicates that he is aware of what he's doing and the urine is not just leaking out of his body.
My family is taking him back to the vet today, but I just wanted to receive more opinions. We considered side-effects of the antibiotics or maybe a change in behavior that is meant to indicate discomfort. We also thought about some neurological issue, but with the onset being so sudden it seemed weird.

Species: Cat
- Age: 14, almost 15
- Sex/Neuter status: M, not neutered (at the advice of the doctor)
- Breed: British Shorthair Blue
- Body weight: 5.3 Kg (or 11.6 pounds)
- History: In summer, he had a near-death experience when his bladder got clogged with kidney stones. He had some sort of device inserted in his urethra that helped him urinate, while also taking shots and medicine to dissolve the stones. He was declared healthy a few weeks later.
He's had other minor urinary tract issues and has been taking medicine, in the form of a gel, for it since he was around 8 years old. Since summer, they upped his dose a bit, to one pea size portion of gel per day. Here is a picture of what the gel looks like.
- Clinical signs: Cat pees all over the house. He doesn't mark his territory as he leaves behind quite a bit of urine. He still uses his litterbox to pee just as frequently as he did before.

My rinses are all I have right now to give me hope💔dealing with extremely thick mucus that otherwise doesn’t come out.
I just did a rinse and there was a decent amount of fresh red blood (enough that the water coming out was coloured, and there were fresh red pieces in the toilet). When I blow my nose or wipe with a tissue, it looks like a bright nose bleed.
Is this just dry nose? Can I remedy it and continue or should I hold off?

2025.01.24 11:30 AaronYaygar Free streaming services are genuinely fantastic now.
As someone who can't really afford a streaming service 24/7 (though I do snag a lot of the free trials that get thrown out there) I've been relying more and more on things like Tubi and Freevee for my monthly movies and shows. Vudu/Fandango also carries a few fun things for free (though the app sadly isn't available on PS4 anymore), and Pluto TV tends to have a solid selection as well.
As an example of the quality work that Tubi is frequently showing off these days, they've currently got Heat, Train To Busan, Taxi Driver, Point Break, and Dances With Wolves all sitting pretty in their selection.. and that's just the very tip of the iceberg when it comes to the interesting things in their archives, much of it hidden away underneath the large pile of trashy stuff that they also tend to have lying around.
Blockbusters, indie gems, gritty action classics, forgotten oddball work; the variety that you can find on a lot of these services is just awesome. So if there's any other film fans out there who ever struggle to find something interesting to watch, I just wanted to say: take a scroll through the archives of these services, and I think you'll find at least a few things that catch your eye.

The problem with the trauma of being cheated on and left for another is that the very person you need for closure and healing is unavailable. Any attempt to seek answers to questions is viewed as pathetic in the extreme. Pathetic that the victim would want anything at all from an abuser so obviously apathetic to their plight, or undeniably worse, the implication that they are seeking to trade whatever scraps of dignity they may have remaining in hopes of rekindling a fire long since buried under ice.
So how does one heal, with questions of why and when unanswered. With no apparent guilt or shame, did the person I still love now, ever exist? Was there a plan to take off with the money all along? Or has she been coerced into some toxic relationship where her partner has such control he compels her to compound her malicious acts of cruelty to reassure his ego that there is no chance of return?
Her apparent content with her actions to the family has cost her relationship with her children, yet still she won't reach out to apologise or even make subtle offers of kindness. No explanation or reasoning is given to the children either. How is tgat even possible from a woman that gave her best years to raise them? The idea that she's compelled to this behaviour by another smells of pathetic fantasy. But yet five years later my mind still spends every available moment rearranging unjoined puzzle pieces in search of a picture that's possible.
The mental illness; the first true love; the patient gold digger; the innocent brainwashed by the charismatic psychopath. New possibilities arrive at all hours, dizzying the mind that yearns for truth that would set it free to finally turn around, take a breath, and begin the journey onward.
But it waits.
