Context:
Thanks to my idiocracy, I recently got my phone snatched. Thankfully, it was my spare Galaxy A05. I'm pretty deep into the Samsung ecosystem, having the watch, buds, and two Samsung phones. The only reason my laptop isn't Samsung is because they don't sell them in my country. My main phone is the S25 Ultra, which I basically use for everything, while my spare A05 is used as a hotspot and work phone.
How it happened:
I was on the bus scrolling on my main phone while my spare phone was in my pocket. My spare phone has data and hotspot always on because my company provides my work SIM with unlimited data. So, I figured to just pop the SIM in a cheap phone and keep that as my hotspot option.
I got off the bus, and immediately a swarm of people rushed by. This was probably the time my phone got snatched out of my pocket. After I got out of the area, I realized I lost my phone because my Wi-Fi disconnected from my main S25 Ultra. My first mistake was trying to go to the bus station and see if I had lost my phone (I guess I couldn't accept the fact that it got snatched).
After getting to the station and realizing that my phone wasn't there, I made my second mistake: calling my phone. Obviously, the snatcher didn't answer. This was when I finally remembered "Find My Phone" existed. I opened up the app and tried tracking my phone. Fortunately, Samsung can override and turn on your location. However, after five minutes, the phone stopped sending its location, so I assumed the snatcher turned it off.
I got to the last posted location, and that's when I finally came to accept that I'll never get my phone back.
Here are some mistakes that I made that hopefully you won't:
- Being careless and keeping my phone in my pocket. I guess I became less diligent in protecting it because I considered it to be the "cheap" phone.
- Calling the phone. By calling the phone, it prompted the snatcher to turn it off, making it no longer trackable. I should have gone straight to tracking my phone instead.
- Related to No. 2. I hadn't turned on "Lock Network & Security," Google's Theft Detection Lock, and Offline Device Lock on my A05 device. I have it on my S25 Ultra, but I obviously forgot to turn it on for my other device.
- Lastly, I should have explored SmartThings ("Lost My Phone") to understand what I can do if I lose my phone, instead of uselessly panicking.
- Lock Network & Security, Theft Detection Lock, and Offline Device Lock should be on automatically. When a user adds a PIN to their new phone, these options should be enabled by default. Android also needs to do a better job advertising options like remote lock to their users.
- Lost Mode and Erase Data also need to be in Samsung's "Find My" app. I don't understand why these options are only available on the website. Thanks to that, I only figured out that Lost Mode exists after going to the website.
- Related to No. 2, Samsung needs to design the SmartThings website and app with the understanding that most users access the site for the first time in panic. When I opened up the app, I got served with a notice. Meanwhile, on the Samsung "Find My Phone" website, I had to first accept cookies, and it was clunky. For reference, I checked Apple's "Find My Phone" and found it easy to find, with a smooth UI and needing just to sign in.
- You should be able to activate lost mode even if your phone is shut downed. I know the phone needs to be on and on data so that it can be marked as lost but the fact that I have to wait until it is on and can't just set it automatically is insane. Time is of the essence here and am quite surprised that this isn't just an auto option and needs the lost phone's input to turn on.

While Sweden stands at 64.10, and United States at 27.3.

I’m in the UK and have been using Pets at home own brand clay clumping litter and I have paw tracks everywhere around the house, I have tiny bits of clay everywhere aswell, it is driving me mad. im sorry i know its dumb, but im an occasional "logs in and plays in two weeks" player
i tried out hullabaloo, read his skills, watched videos explaining his gameplay and i still dont get it
so usually when you play a hunter, it takes you 2 hits to get the survivor downed so that you can pick them up and put them on the chair
for hullabaloo, he does some damage and applies debuffs instead??? but how does he down characters??? im genuinely confused, do i just keep hitting survivors? they just won't get downed tho
how do i pick them up to put them on the chairs if i cant figure out how to down them with him 😭
