I use an NVMe SSD (western digital sn850x 2TB) the bandwidth of my SSD is 7.3 GB/s
When I run the model, I believe the shared expert is run in RAM, leaving only 7 out of 8 active experts loading from SSD each forward pass. (37B - > 32B)
The model is 2bit. (IQ2XXS the deepseek r1 model is specifically 2.08 BPW) This leaves us with 32÷4=8GB worth of active parameter weights.
This is why I can get 1 t/s without swap. I have removed and disabled swapfile entirely. (htop display is 0k/0k) nothing is leaded into vram, I built without cuda

2025.01.24 14:37 Nouglas Steam Deck issue, maybe, but also a Civ 6 problem?
Please bear with my story here. it starts with Steam Deck problems, but the overall problem is Civ 6....
I was laying in bed and like normal picked up my Deck to fall asleep to. I essentially only play Civ 6 on this thing (which becomes important later). I saw the battery was at 30%, so I knew I'd need to charge it in a couple minutes.
But then, it just died. No warning, nothing, dead. I plugged it in and it came back on, but there was no charging time, it just said 0%. Restarted, nothing changed. Tried pulling out the charge cord, and it died immediately.
I quickly googled the problem, saw something that said to reset the battery by holding the three-line button (beside the Y) and the volume UP button when booting the machine. I did this...
Well...I now have a feeling that I maybe deleted all my user data or something, but while I get the battery problem fixed (it booted at about 50% and a normal charge time). When I tried to boot up Civ 6 again, I needed to download a 9 gig file to play it (and I checked there are no 9gig updates for a 32gig game that came out 10 years ago that dropped this week). When Civ 6 eventually started it took FOREVER, and the intro movie played (something I disabled the moment I got it on Deck) and all my saved options were gone (fast travel, fast battle, high detailed clutter etc.).
Also, all my mods were activated, I have hundreds and never have more than half activated....a lot of them don't work together. Further, there were some mods in there that I know I unsubscribed to a long time ago. And going even further than that, ALL MY SAVED GAMES WERE GONE, along with the Hall of Fame of all my wins and loses....thousands of hours of work...gone.
And then finally, I couldn't even get to the load screen or the new game start screen. I've since figured out that this is a mod problem and can get there now after disabling all these mods I'd long ago abandoned.
So, for Civ 6, has anyone had this happen before? The hall of fame never worked in the thousands of hours I put into the game on Switch, but it has remained consistent throughout my entire PC career on it. I don't really care that all my progress in the hall of fame and saved games are gone (not a trophy hunter)...but the worst part is that Civ 6 now runs slow as molassus, taking five or more minutes just to get to the main menu...and it seems like something is wrong, I don't get the little ads for challenges or pushing Civ 7 anymore beside the main menu...it's like I'm playing a version of the game from five years ago, instead of the one I am used to.
I'm flummoxed...any help or insight? Or rather, has this happened before to any of you?

Hey all, figured I should get some eyes on this.
Initial Info: HHI $210K gross, Funding fee is waived, VA Loan ($0 Down), Cincinnati, OH. Very early in the build process (Haven't broken ground yet).
There is $12,000 additional seller incentive that brought the rate from 6.625% down to the 6%. (BuildeLender Relationship).
We will be looking at other lenders, but before I talk to them wanted input on what questions to ask and where they can navigate better deals. Any specific lenders to talk to? (Planning on the bank we use, local credit union, and the national veterans companies (VU, NFCU).
Any help is appreciated!
