2025.01.24 17:51 GiftedGeordie Is John going to have to tone his criticisms of Trump down out of fears for his safety?
A few people have made comments in the post about the specific date in February that Last Week Tonight is returning, about how John might have to watch what he says or he might even get arrested, even stripped of his US Citizenship.
The sad thing is that I can genuinely believe that Trump would try and have someone arrested for daring to criticise him, even if that person is a respected TV presenter with a large following.
So, is John going to have to be less harsh on Trump than Trump deserves just to avoid going to prison of being booted out of the country?

Hello everybody! In 1 or 2 years, I will move to Portugal, to go to college and maybe live and make my life there.
I'm now in doubt about what I want to do, I wanted to do History, but now I want to do theater. I don't know which one to choose.
Is there any way I can do History and theater? (Like, I go to history college and on the weekends, and have some theater with few people who are not experienced in theater and want to try doing theater)

Hi fellow OCD sufferers!
I (M28) have been with my partner (F28) for 5 years. She is the love of my life and I love her so very much. However, she has moderate OCD that waxes and wanes as the illness does, but it’s recently worsened.
Some background - I also suffer from ROCD, it’s taken me years to work on it and am on medication + therapy 1x every 2 weeks with OCD specialist. I’ve made strides, but I’m not perfect. My GF, does this and more. She’s on medication and sees her therapist 1-2x a week and is a top OCD specialist. My GF is also in a rigorous school program and her stress levels are extreme. She has a lot of trouble managing stress and from psycho education I’ve learned those with OCD manage stress poorly and it exacerbates OCD. She also has mild ADD.
Anyways, I’m a very very chill guy. I don’t stress much and I’m more of a “whatever, it happens” attitude. She is the opposite. Her OCD causes her severe overthinking and reassurance seeking. But she’s so stressed out from it that she’s constantly in an anxious state and it’s debilitating for her :(.
The issue I’m having is its effect on me. I’ve learned to manage things like reassurance seeking; not giving in and/or taking space if she’s particularly struggling. I’ve been to her therapist with her to learn these things, my GF is great at listening and working to improve herself and us thankfully. But, the constant stress and negativity from spiraling about what could happen when it’s so far-fetched is taking its toll on me.
I’ve talked to her about needing to manage her stress levels because it stresses me to no end. She really does try, but I feel there is nothing else to do until the school program ends. Just looking for advice here.
I hate that sometimes I want alone time to get away from the stress and OCD as I love her to pieces. I’ll stick by her side forever and ever because she’s worth it. But man, the flare ups are especially difficult for me to handle.

Hello all. I’d like to ask something that left me confused after seeing doctors. English isn’t my first language so I could clarify if anything’s left unclear. 7 months ago I got a 360 degree machine filming my full teeth. My doctor then said (and showed) a deep cavity close to the nerve and said it needs to be followed. Today I saw another doctor -previous one was on vacation- who filmed the single teeth and said there is no cavity in this teeth.
My research taught me that only small cavities might be repaired with a good diet and excellent tooth care. I was surprised and reasked if there is absolutely no cavity left, and she confirmed.
I would like to ask what you think, if it’s possible, or if I should get a second opinion. Mind you, I was not keeping an “excellent” mouthcare, though I brushed every night for sure and might have missed around 20-30 morning brushes in the past 7 months. I have been flossing every day since two months and brushing day and night.
