Tried a new cut of meat The Oyster Steak. Its a small cut of meat from right above a cows hip. It's ultra flavourful and extremely well marbeled.
Seared Oyster steak with crispy fried rice topped with a shishito chili chimmichuri and a salted yolk sauce. Was a really well rounded flavor profile and one of the more delicious things I've ever made.

 | Had the hardest decision yet of putting my dog down today. My best bud gave me the best 10 years he could, he ended up getting IVDD had a bad infection in his spine where it was rotting. Slowly I could tell he was deteriorating stopped eating going to the restroom etc. As much as I wanted to flip the coin on surgery being that his IVDD was really advanced and I could tell he was desperate and in a lot of pain. Assalamualaikum I have a question, how much or what is the requirement to call a relative of yours to abroad. My khala went to UK in 2000 smthng or before, she is a British now. I wanna go UK or somewhere else for study or job not sure.
So I was wondering do I need like money to go there or is there some sort of help I can from my Khala? A friend of mine travelled to Canada while he was in college through his uncle who's Canadian, he didn't disclose anything tho so not sure.
I cannot afford to go, I can only rely on scholarships Thank you!

2025.01.24 18:42 CHAFFLINCH AITA for asking my friends not to invite my ex and her new boyfriend?
Hello!
My ex broke up with me out of nowhere after over a year-long relationship. We had a good relationship and had even been planning a trip together when she suddenly broke up with me. The only thing I found odd the week before was how oddly affectionate she was and how she seemed quite sad. I asked multiple times what was wrong, but she would not say. She told me she broke up because she wasn't feeling well, and needed to find her own identity and what she wanted out of life. She has not been single since she was thirteen and needed to be independent. Even though I was very sad we broke up, I felt proud of her and supportive of her journey, although I was very shocked by how sudden it was.
For over a month after our relationship ended, she kept telling me maybe we could get back together, but she had not decided yet what she wanted. We still had a good relationship and were close friends. We often joked about the break-up and how we should stage a dramatic fight where we pretended to break up again. I gave her advice about new hobbies and invited her on my behalf to events so she could be distracted if she wanted to, as well as asking if I should opt out of parties e.t.c so she could be comfortable. One day. however, she suddenly (literally overnight) stopped messaging me and left me on read. I then contacted her and demanded clarity, and she told me she did not want to get back together. Since then, she has been very cold to me.
I asked her if she wanted to try and become friends again sometime later since we have so many mutual friends and I wanted us both to be able to be comfortable, and she said yes and we hung out a couple of times. I felt a bit angry about how she had extended our break-up unnecessarily, but I still put effort into being kind and respectful, as well as continuing to offer to stay at home so she could hang out and not have to see me if she did not want to.
At some point during rebuilding our friendship she got into a new relationship with her current boyfriend.
This would not matter to me otherwise, but the problem is that he is our mutual friend, whom I spoke to about the break-up and who I relied on for emotional support. I met both of them multiple times since the break-up and during their new relationship, and they hid it from me completely. I found out about the relationship a month after they got together when they suddenly messaged me and told a lot of our friends to tell us about it. I got upset, and I felt very betrayed by both of them.
I messaged them and told them how it was hurtful that they would tell a lot of our friends, and that I felt uncomfortable since they now would speculate about our relationship, as well that my ex's actions had slowed me moving on and that I felt that they could have waited sometime before telling me and our friends. I told them that I respect that they are both adults and can do whatever they want, but that they could have treated me better and handled the situation better. They replied that they acted the way that they did because it benefited them, and that they were okay with not hearing or understanding my perspective. This was surprisingly cold and it hurt my feelings. Because of this, I have not contacted or seen them since and have blocked them on everything.
Again, since we have almost completely mutual friends, I asked one of my friends if we could exclude them sometimes from our meet-ups so that I could be comfortable. I am not asking them to stop being their friends as that would be unfair, or to stop inviting them completely. He said that he understood I was upset, but that he could not exclude friends, no matter what.
I might be the AH because this conflict is completely between me and my ex and her new boyfriend, and fundamentally it is unfair for me to ask others to change who they hang out with. On the other hand, I feel like shit with how they have treated me, especially with the way my ex has talked to me, and I still want to meet with my friends without having to feel sad and uncomfortable.

Hey everyone! I am currently having a problem with the ink on my lamy safari (F nib) Basically when i touched the words that i wrote with It 2 days ago (with my hands having just a bit of sweat), the ink blurs, gets on my fingers, the page gets ugly, and is just a huge inconvenience. I am using Rhodia paper, and the ink is pelikan 4001. The same doesnt happen with my Platinum preppy and hongdian Black Forest (both EF nibs) Is this kind of thing to be expected given the nib size? Is there something wrong with the ink or the pen?
I honestly dont care that much about my hand getting dirty, but It really annoys me when the page gets ugly because of it.
