2025.01.24 18:20 Darkextratoasty Orcaslicer ignoring part depth in a multi-color model when slicing
 | When I have differently colored parts embedded in the wall of a model, such as letters for a label, Orcaslicer is ignoring the actual depth of those parts and simply extending them back into the model an arbitrary distance. In this very simple example, I have a block with a 0.8mm thick disk embedded into the side. These are two separate bodies in my CAD software (Fusion360), and I've exported them to be a single STL file with multiple parts. Part in Fusion360 In Orcaslicer I set the part to use blue filament, then use the paint function with the 'fill' tool type and 'smart fill angle' set to 90 to paint the block white. When I slice the model, it extends the disk about 10mm into the block, instead of the 0.8mm that it should. Sliced in Orcaslicer It's a little tricky to see, but if you look closely at the right angle you can see that the transparent image of the layer higher up shows the disk at the correct thickness. Meaning the slicer is recognizing the disk's actual thickness and the painted colors are applying correctly, it's just ignoring it in the sliced product. Disk 'ghost' image showing correct thickness I can also change the depth of the disk in the actual model to whatever, 0.4mm, 10mm, 19mm, any depth and it still slices it to be about 10mm deep. I've also tried changing wall generator, infill, all the multi-material settings in both the print profile and material profile, nothing seems to change it. From an outside appearances standpoint, it doesn't matter, and for this simple demonstration model is doesn't make much difference. However, on the actual model I want to print, it goes from about 150g of material that it should take to almost 300g because the embedded parts extend way into the model instead of only being 0.8mm thick. Actual model showing the issue It's also interesting that the letters, which are a consistent 0.8mm depth, are being extended in a ramp like that. Any ideas what might be causing this? 2025.01.24 18:20 bigang99 Is there a way to make trimming a loop suck less?
Specifically I'm talking about how it restarts the loop every time you move the start or end point slightly. it's a genuinely horrible experience working with a loop longer than a few seconds.
is there a setting or workaround which will make my life suck less?

I booked our 'honeymoon' to Rome at the end of September this year (we had to cancel last year due to my father's passing). We are currently flying economy and I am a United Explorer cardmember (which really means squat).
With all of the bad events that have unfolded the past year, I'd like to have a really really nice trip. I see most of the Polaris & Premium Plus seats are 95% open. Assuming they're still mostly open by the time of the trip, what is the possibility of getting a free upgrade if I ask the gate attendants nicely? I know 1k & premium will be priority... But it doesn't hurt to ask about the possibility lol.
Has anyone had success with this? Crush my hopes and dreams if you have to

2025.01.24 18:20 clintnorth Doom: The Dark Ages has changed glory kills… My thoughts
I personally extremely dislike the changes. I watched the presentation last night and every new “glory kill” wasn’t very glorious at all. It was just some generic kick or gun smash. The contextual glory kills are gone, and so is the unique animations that were so exciting to take down bad guys with!!
So boring. I really feel like they have done a disservice to the gameplay with that. I suspect that they just didn’t want to go through the effort of making multiple unique glory kill animations for every enemy, and now they are trying to sell that decision with marketing speak about how you can “do it from any angle” which I gotta say, I can’t really recall being a problem in either of the other two games. It just seemed like they removed a really cool and exciting part of the combat loop.
What are your guys thoughts?

Quick question here. I'm on Sertraline (rn it got reduced to 25mg a day so super small dose) and I heard there could be issues when consuming grapefruit.
I got some grapefruit flavoured electrolytes (SIS Hydro- pink grapefruit flavour, see photo) and was wondering if I could take them? The ingredient label says "natural flavouring" and idk if it would potentially create issues?
