God knows I reckon other people actually signed this contract. We need to fight predatory contracts
This contract contained the following (a non-exhaustive list):
- Requires a medical cert for even one day of sick leave
- Employer can place employee on unpaid suspension indefinitely
- Employer can change terms "reasonably" but employee has limited rights to object
- Extremely broad IP assignment with no additional compensation
- Claims rights to inventions outside work hours/duties
- No overtime compensation provisions despite expectation of additional hours
- Unclear bonus terms with full employer discretion
- "No notice" during probation period
- Broad termination rights for employer
- Vague performance standards
- Garden leave can be used punitively
- Broad surveillance and monitoring rights
- Very restrictive confidentiality provisions
- Extensive control over remote work arrangements
Some provisions are not just unfair but likely unenforceable under Irish law, suggesting the contract may be designed to intimidate employees rather than create a balanced legal framework.
Like I said, I told them that I would not accept that, but I know that they already hired people so people might have signed a similar contract.
I know people need a job sometimes and feel like they don't have a choice, but we need to stand up to these companies. p.s. this was effectively an international company

I am amazed that they used so low quality parts that not only one or two but 7 capacitors went bad. Capacitor plague is well behind us and this is impresive. Any recommendations for a new psu i need 650+w?

I would assume it wouldn’t work, but I think I read it somewhere long ago that some games are able to run on different versions of Xbox.

When I did my first PICL case back in 2015 (a decade ago now), we were very careful about who we accepted as a candidate because many questions remained concerning how patients would tolerate this procedure.
Fast forward to 2018-2021, and we were not permitting any patient who failed the first procedure to get a second procedure. Again, because while we knew the PICL was generally well tolerated, we wanted to analyze the data to get a better sense of risk/benefit. As the data looked favorable, we made changes in 2022 to allow patients who didn't get a response after the first procedure to get a second procedure (which identified a population of patients who responded favorably to that second procedure despite no change from the first).
From 2022 to 2024, I significantly improved the procedure (ePICL) and looked at the data a second time in 2022 and now a third time (late 2024 to Q1 2025), which will end up in a peer-reviewed publication. During this time period, I purposefully stayed with much stricter candidacy rules for PICL than most surgeons used for upper cervical fusion as we again accessed the risk/benefit.
For 2025, I am announcing a major candidacy change, again based on that risk/benefit assessment. We will now accept a spine surgeon's recommendation for upper cervical fusion and allow that to supersede our own candidacy analysis. That means that patients who were previously told that they were not PICL candidates based on our stricter criteria but who have been offered an upper cervical fusion as their only other option will be permitted to try the PICL procedure.
This decision may change some recent Telemeds we have done. However, as you can see, we have always allowed our clinical data on risk/benefit to guide our decisions on who can get a PICL. We now feel comfortable again allowing a larger patient population to try this approach.

Natuurlijk is het juist vrijheid van meningsuiting dat je als subreddit kan zeggen dat je geen mensen met tegenstrijdige meningen wilt hebben.  | Hi everyone, I have two Google Nest Thermostats (non-Learning version) controlling a multi-zone HVAC system. One is for the first floor, and the other for the second floor. I’m using a Honeywell Multi-zone Control Panel to manage the system. Lately, I’ve been experiencing a delayed heating issue. For example, when I set the temperature to 69°F, the heating doesn’t kick in until the temperature drops to 64°F. I’ve already tried troubleshooting, but the problem persists. My current wiring setup for both thermostats is Y-C-W-R (with the Green color wire connected to C), and I’m wondering if this is causing the issue. I’m considering switching to Ecobee (Lite or Premium) for potentially better performance and reliability. I’m curious: Will Ecobee thermostats perform better than my current setup? If I switch, will I need to install two Power Extender Kits (PEK) for both Ecobees, given my multi-zone system and existing wiring? Has anyone dealt with a similar issue or made the switch to Ecobee? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
