2025.01.24 19:50 Brandr_Balfhe Rewriting Dawntrail
First of all, sorry. I'm so sorry, really sorry, but I have to do this, because this are my shower thoughts that have to get out of my head. (This is the fanfic section, right?)
OK, let's go.
Rewriting this thing:
In summary, WoL doenst go with Wuk Lamat to help her during her political campaign, rather, we go help Krile find her grandfather. While the Promises are doing the trials, and we observe them doing it, we dont help them. Our mission is to find clues to the whereabout of Galuf and her parents. The events while they are mostly the same, our reason to be there differs greatly and (we speak much less with Wuk Lamat, thankfully!!).
Specially mention, Krile is more involved in the story and we see more Zoral Ja and Bakool Ja Ja POV by doing some quests with them, instead of being stuck with only one of the candidates.
Dawntrail begins by speaking with Wuk Lamat when she ask us to help her get the crown through a series of trials, WoL accepts and Krile, Erenville and Alphinauld go along, right?
First change: in this rewrite the WoL DONT accept. WoL says they dont want to involve themselves in politics anymore or they can answer they dont know Wuk Lamat enough to help her become a ruler, or the funny third option they just nod and do nothing. Although, Erenville accepts for the same reasons he states during MSQ.
So, the reason to go to Tural is by a request made by Krile, that she wants WoL's help to find her grandfather Galuf.
Then to Tural we go. The boat section happens the same way and Tullyolal likewise. We start our travels to find the whereabouts of Galuf, by trying to make the same steps he may have done when he got there.
Our first region is Urqopacha and the Promises' trial is to tame an alpaca. Well, they do that while our party goes up to the mountain where allegedly there is a clue to Galuf according to a pelupelu. We may find something that was his that he left there for future retrieval. Now it's in our hands, or better said, in Krile's hands, it's an emotional moment of discovering and rememberance, she tell us a story of her childhood, being raised by such loving man who taught her values and perseverance.
While up there we witness how each of the Promises fared to tame the temperamental alpacas. Bakool Ja Ja problably didnt have much trouble just as Zoraal Ja, on the other hand Koana and Wuk Lamat did poorly since both aren't familiar with their homeland culture that well.
In Kozama'uka is where the candidates to the throne have to do the trial of solving the problem with the reed plantation. We see from afar how Koana gathered the ingredients to the potion he trew on the water and Wuk Lamat renew the big bird boat, we are talking with the locals asking about Galuf and going where he did, some cave, maybe we find someone who he helped or helped him. Again, Krile tells us more about her life with Galuf.
We go back to Tullyolal, events happen quite the same because we go along with Erenville, we have our duel with Gulool Ja Ja, he confides in the player that he believes none of the candidates possess the character to become Dawnservant, and that the contest was designed to develop them. He may lament that we are not helping any of the Promises but wonders if it's for the best, so none of them have an unfair advantage (like having the greastest fighter of all Eorzea, the dread of Garlemald, the barista of the Cafe at end of the universe, on their side).
we have that boat down the river dungeon, when we get to the third area, Iq Br'aax, we part ways.
At the Moblin village, there is another Feat.
During Wuk Lamat's kidnapping, instead of not protecting her when she decides to go back alone, we were not there, although we do witness the kidnapping happening and we decide to follow the criminal.
In this version of the story Zoral Ja help us saving Wuk Lamat, so we spend sometime with him, and here he is a very likeable guy even if he's a little silent and introvert. At the end of the quest he asks us to not reveal the his brothers that he helped, to keep this a secret, and so we do. That right here is the foreshadowing of his later plot twist.
When Zoral Ja gives Bakool Ja Ja a beating he makes sure to state "Do not touch my sister, ever again.".
During Valigarmanda escape, our party dont even need a hand to follow the Tural Vidraal location. We just follow the path of destruction, though we do see Erenville following a hand, wich makes a funny scene during that tense moment, though we arrive a later than Wuk Lamat and Koana's party, where they are already fighting Valigarmanda and losing badly. That is, until the Warrior of Light enter the fight, that's when the tide turns. In the end during a cutscene, with a special help of Krile's pictomancy the Warrior of Light gives the final strike (the animation could be the most basic attack motion, while riding a drawning made by Krile) on the monster. Everyone is happy.
Then instead of doing nothing about the guy who basically fired a missile at his own country, we try to find him by ourselves and we find him. We hear his two heads having disagreeing with each other, Krile is shocked to notice they are not in one accord, there is sadness and despair in their voices. We understand that although they did the villain role, they didnt want to, but we dont know yet why Bakool Ja Ja did that. When we try talking the them, they get angry, but he says they cant tell anything. Their voice was tremble and full of fear, but not of us, of something else.
We decide to let him go, for now, but we do give a warning, or a big threat (a la Dark Knight Fray), or a funny third option by saying "Kupo!" which makes Bakool Ja Ja being utter confused.
In Yak T'el, when the Promises solves the Master Chef feat, we witness how all of them did their cuisine. We also hear that Galuf was there and was part of Gulool Ja Ja party.
Then we proceed to Mamook village where the final challenge is to defeat an apparition of Gulool Ja Ja in his prime. We watch Zoral Ja being defeated, and Bakool Ja Ja gets berated by his father for not having all keystones. Wuk Lamat doesnt initiate her feat yet, prefering to do her usual talk-no-jutsu with everyone on the village. While she does that we find Bakool Ja Ja in the cave where he reveals the dark method of giving birth to a two headed mamool ja, which usually results in the death of the baby.
When we go back to the village that Roegadin guy who is a friend of Gulool Ja Ja is having a fierce discussion with Mamook's leader because of the Feat, that he thinks its too unfair to having the Promises fighting the greatest warrior Tural ever produced, problably stronger even than the hero of Eorzea.
But, Wuk Lamat along with Koana decides to try, together. And get themselves headstrong to the floor, until Bakool Ja Ja steps in and help them. Although they give a good fight, in the end it's impossible. When Tankwa, the roegadin, decides to step in, we pass him first and enter the fight ourselves. And just like against Valigarmanda, it's when the Warrior of Light interferes, that's when the things start to change. This time it's Bakool Ja Ja that help us doing the final strike.
Tankwa give them all the final keystone, but Koana decides to not accept. That means only Wuk Lamat have all of them, wich means she is the winner! Yay!
After that, they go to the Golden City cave where we find the last clue of Galuf quest through Tural.
So we go back to Tullyolal to watch the coronation. Events happens the same way, Wuk Lamat asks us to stay with her in Tural, again we're not having any of this political stuff. Krile is giving a good headache to Gulool Ja Ja for not telling her about Galuf, about knowing him even after she said her story to him. Gulool Ja Ja, even being a king, apoligizes humbly, Krile forgives him, he asks her to stay for awhile so that he can tell her all Galuf's story and possible location of her parents, the City of Gold.
While she does that, we go with Erenville to Shaloani, the Alexandria dome falls, there is a raid invasion in Tullyolal, Zoral Ja kills Gulool Ja Ja.
We decide to raid the dome, along with Krile and Erenville. Everything happens the same way except we are not going together with Wuk Lamat. She and Koana let the city with a trusted advisor, while they are protecting the country. They formulate the plan of building a new train, while our party is already on the road. It could be a whole new dungeon, going through the train tunnels, lots of monsters, by the end, during the boss fight, we have to use Tank Limit Break level 3, to protect ourselves, because the train is going to explode the entrance of the dome.
Koana goes back to Tulyolal and we finally have a section of the story alongside Wuk Lamat.
We just partways with her in Living Memory chapter, because, instead of trying to know the culture of the people there, we find Krile's parents almost by the entrance, so we have a that huge section with Krile with her parents, Erenville with his mother, Wuk Lamat doing her things but from afar.
So the game give us two options to continue MSQ: we follow Erenville with Cahciua or Krile with her parents, to do the quests on any order we want. Krile's party goes west, Erenville's party goes east.
They talk, we all eat ice cream with them. After we finish one party's quest, we see from afar that Wuk Lamat shut down one of the terminals, when we finish both parties quests, another terminal gets shut down, all parties meet at the north for the final terminals. That's when we have to say goodbye to Krile's and Erenville's families.
In the last fight, against the Eternal Queen, Wuk Lamat is already fighting her alone when we arrive there, doing her "Spheene! Listen to me!" bit, but she gets crushed again by Eternal Queen's hand.
The Warrior of Light steps in, gives her a good beating. By boss's 50% Kriles trow at her a face a Pictomancer Limit Break, by 20% the game gives us a free Limit Break, by 10%, we get another free LB, to wich, if we use it, she dies immediately.
And that's it.
If you read it all, I must say "thank you from the bottom of my heart!" and "Sorry from the bottom of my heart!" wich means you are now on my Christmas card list forever.

We heard this before years ago when Trump was pushing for this type of bill but they don't want to fix it, and NYC concil members are just trying to look working for the masses Former top City Hall officials would be barred from lobbying any municipal agencies for two years under a bill passed by the City Council on Thursday, sending the measure to Mayor Adams, who declined to immediately say whether he would sign it into law. Under current law, senior City Hall officials, like deputy mayors and chiefs of staff, are barred from lobbying the mayor’s office for a year after leaving public service. 2025.01.24 19:50 JPF998 Atari's decision to not release the Atari 50 DLCs on the VCS is a massive betrayal against the community
Let's all hope that the community backlash against this decision is strong enough that Atari is forced to reverse course on this issue. The people that purchased the VCS ( and people like me who were planning on buying one in the near future ) are the most loyal/hardcore members of the Atari community aka the costumers Atari can't afford to lose not matter what .
It's one thing for a casual gamer to buy Atari 50 on the Switch for 15 bucks during a big sale, it's another completely different thing for someone to personally invest in an entirely new ecosystem ( the VCS platform ) in order to play all of Atari's latest releases and legacy content.
Things have been going so well for Atari since Wade took over the company back in 2021, I can only hope that this ludicrous decision is just a one off thing and not an early sign of more shaddy stuff to come in the future...

2025.01.24 19:50 terrafinalle The Beauty of C++: A Tribute to the Power of the Language
In the ever-evolving landscape of software development, few languages have endured the test of time as C++ has. A cornerstone of the programming world, C++ has been the foundation of some of the most powerful, efficient, and innovative software ever created. From operating systems to video games to high-performance computing, C++ has stood tall as a versatile and robust tool, enabling developers to create groundbreaking technologies. However, as with any powerful tool, the problem is never the tool itself—it’s the hands that wield it. The unfortunate truth is that the beauty and brilliance of C++ are often obscured by the incompetence of bad developers who misuse it or fail to leverage its true potential.
C++ is a language that demands respect—not only for its complexity but for the depth of its capabilities. It is a language of precision, control, and efficiency, offering low-level memory manipulation, object-oriented features, and templates that allow developers to create highly optimized and scalable systems. At its core, C++ is about giving developers the power to make choices—choices about performance, resource management, and how best to structure their programs for efficiency. It is a language that provides unprecedented control over hardware, memory allocation, and concurrency, and in the right hands, this power is unparalleled.
But the reality of C++ is that its beauty is often overshadowed by developers who lack the discipline, understanding, or skill to wield its complexity effectively. It’s not the language that’s at fault when systems crash, memory leaks occur, or performance issues arise—it’s the careless or unskilled programmer who fails to optimize their code or embrace the best practices that make C++ truly shine. The blame falls on those who fail to fully grasp the intricacies of memory management, who neglect to leverage C++’s advanced features like RAII (Resource Acquisition Is Initialization), or who fail to write clean, maintainable code.
C++ offers a level of performance and fine-grained control that most other modern languages simply cannot match. Developers who understand the language’s nuances can optimize their applications to run at the highest possible efficiency. The language offers tools that allow developers to reduce overhead, minimize latency, and maximize throughput. However, this power comes with responsibility. Mismanaging memory, neglecting to write thread-safe code, or failing to adhere to performance best practices can result in bloated, inefficient, and downright problematic software. The failure to master these fundamental aspects of C++ leads to poor outcomes—problems that are, more often than not, the result of bad development practices, not the language itself.
The versatility of C++ is another testament to its inherent beauty. It supports both low-level and high-level programming paradigms, offering a rich blend of procedural, object-oriented, and generic programming. The language is capable of handling everything from system programming to developing sophisticated, user-facing applications. Its power is seen in the way it has shaped entire industries—be it through the development of high-performance game engines, complex simulations, or large-scale enterprise applications. C++’s ability to run in resource-constrained environments and perform at lightning speeds makes it a perfect fit for industries where milliseconds matter—finance, embedded systems, aerospace, and more.
However, the beauty of C++ is often obscured by a lack of discipline and poor understanding. Bad programmers, those who fail to respect the language’s power, can quickly degrade the development process. A poorly written C++ program can be an unoptimized nightmare—full of memory leaks, segmentation faults, and cryptic bugs that are difficult to trace. The complexity of C++—its advanced syntax, memory management, and toolset—can be overwhelming to developers who have not taken the time to learn and master it properly. Those who misuse the language for short-term gains or fail to implement proper error handling or resource management can quickly unravel the very advantages C++ offers. Yet, when C++ is wielded by a skilled developer, it becomes a symphony of performance and optimization.
The problem with C++ is not the language itself but the lack of expertise and discipline in its usage. To those who accuse C++ of being a “dangerous” language, I say: it is not C++ that is the problem, but the lack of willingness to learn and grow as a developer. Good developers understand that C++ is not a language to be taken lightly—it requires careful thought, planning, and a deep understanding of how systems work at a low level. It requires a commitment to writing efficient, readable, and maintainable code. It requires a constant awareness of the impact that each decision has on performance, memory, and scalability.
C++ can be a double-edged sword: it offers unmatched power and flexibility, but it demands respect and responsibility. It’s up to the developer to use that power wisely, to follow best practices, and to fully embrace the language’s potential. When C++ is used well, it is a marvel—fast, efficient, and capable of creating some of the most robust, high-performing software imaginable. But when it is misused, it becomes a tool of frustration and inefficiency. The problem lies not with the language, but with the lack of commitment to mastering it, and the failure to understand its full potential.
In the end, the beauty of C++ lies in its ability to empower those who are willing to put in the effort to understand it. It is a language that, when used correctly, allows developers to create software that is as efficient as it is powerful. The fault does not lie with the tool—but with those who misuse it.

2025.01.24 19:50 Half-Gifts what worked for me / what acceptance really looks like
after dealing with my second stint obsessing over dpdr for just over a year and a half, i’m pretty confident in saying that i’m over it. there might be 2-3 days a month where i get sucked into a thought spiral, but i can be confident in my ability to get back to normal within a few hours.
both times i’ve dealt with this long-term, the initial dpdr was triggered by a period of obsessively doing internal check-ins to make sure i felt ok. the first time, in 2020, i was paranoid about catching covid and spent most of my day monitoring my temperature and symptoms. the second time, i was adjusting my ssri dosage and freaking out over withdrawal symptoms. in each case, i’d suddenly be overcome with a sense that my emotions, sense of touch, pain perception and desires were dulled or non-existent.
though i tried so many relaxation exercises and kept physically active during this time (these things did sort of help to an extent), the only thing that pulled me out of the panicked state for good was learning how to actually accept dpdr. a lot of well-meaning advice here mentions acceptance, which i always took to mean learning to live with numbness. that reading was only sort of correct, because my initial experiments with “acceptance” were more like acts of endurance: waiting out a period of supposed emptiness and numbness until some positive sensation or experience would pull me out of it. when i’d eventually slip back, i’d get so frustrated.
what i didn’t realize was that while anxiety and depression had left me feeling like i was numb and blanked out, the real issue was that i was perceiving it at all. while dpdr sufferers tend to romanticize their past, when they were supposedly in a state of constant bliss and intense emotion, they’re forgetting that their lives—like everyone else’s—were full of hour long classes they zoned out through, bland meals, disappointing movies that they half-watched, and times they hung out with their friends and weren’t really feeling it. they don’t remember them now because…why would they? those were just boring, uneventful moments, and weren’t worth filing away.
right now, you’ve gotten used to analyzing every piece of data flowing in and out of your perception. if you’re sick or stressed, you’re going to have some sensation to latch onto to explain your situation. but for most of the day, there’s not going to be a whole lot going on in your body worth noting. because you’re overanalyzing and attaching narratives to bodily functions you have no control over, maybe you’re reading this all clear message as numbness because you’re desperate for some sort of input. pleasure or pain would pull you out of your boredom and remind you that you’re alive. but once you feel either of these things, you’re going to calm down at some point, waiting for the next notable event to happen. we remember interesting stuff, bad or good, because it catches us off guard! pleasure-seeking when you’re desperate to feel is like trying to tickle yourself. it doesn’t work. what you need to do is recognize what you’re feeling now (in your body) as the default state you’ve always been in, albeit maybe a little more stressed. your brain and beliefs are out of wack here.
take a leap of faith and accept that there’s a possibility you’re wrong about the way you’re perceiving your situation. it’s tough to admit you might have been wrong about the situation, especially when the message takes some time and reminders to actually sink in with your brain. but as you allow yourself to let go of the obsession and get over the fear that you might have wasted your time being a bit delusional, you’ll start thinking about other things—or nothing at all. actually doing things and being okay with feeling blah will open your attention up to something other than doomscrolling subreddits. it was tough and embarrassing for me to realize this was all just a byproduct of anxiety and ocd, but at least i’m not afraid anymore! i’m the same person i’ve always been, with familiar likes and personality traits. i just needed to accept that, even if it meant being bored sometimes.

2025.01.24 19:50 Vib_ration The Holy Spirit as a Comforter
This post will focus on explaining, how the term Rapture describes an another form of expression of your Vital energy from your Spirit (soul/astral body/etheric body/energetic body/emotional body/true self) to help spread this information and help everyone learn about the different spiritual/biological discoveries, usages and benefits that were documented on the activation of this type of energy.
This community presents to you an opportunity to empower yourself with your control of your Rapture by gaining the ability to really tap into all the reported, documented and written spiritual/biological usages that are said to be achievable with your conscious cultivation of it.
What does Rapture means/Represents: • Rapture, represents an expression or manifestation of ecstasy, passion or a state or experience of being carried away by overwhelming emotions.
• This is the exact emotional state that is activated when one experiences chills/goosebumps from an positive external or internal stimuli like listening to a favorite song and etc.
• It's not a coïncidence that the emotion of Rapture is basically the emotion of Ecstasy which is: an overwhelming feeling of great happiness or joyful excitement. Since it is an emotion, it can also be looked at as energy because emotions are energy in motion.
• That same energy can be and is activated/drawn from your body when you get chills/goosebumps from an positive external or internal stimuli.
• That energy activates goosebumps/chills not the other way around. You can learn how to separate that extremely pleasant energy from the physical reaction of goosebumps and eventually learn how to activate only that Euphoric energy part whenever you please, feel it wherever or everywhere on yourself and for the duration you choose.
• Your emotion of Rapture is equivalent to what can be considered your "Spiritual Energy" because your spirit (soul/astral body/etheric body/ energetic body/emotional body/true self) is made of that same energy in motion that activates when you experience it.
• In its neutral state, you unconsciously draw that energy with your breath, the foods/liquids you consume and especially the thoughts you think, the actions you do and the visual content that you watch either emits or draws in to amplify your base of this BioElectric Energy.
Here's a simple way that's explains how you can become aware of how to activate/control your Rapture: it is that extremely comfortable Euphoric wave that can most easily be recognized as present while you experience goosebumps/chills from a positive external or internal situations/ stimuli like listening to a song you really like, thinking about a lover, watching a moving movie scene, striving, feeling thankful, praising God, praying, etc.
• That Euphoric wave is the animating energy behind life itself, Other cultures that have experienced in other ways with this energy found their own usages for it and then documented their results as they coined different terms for it.
• Other than Rapture , this has also been experienced and documented as the Vibrational State before an Astral Projection, the Runner's High, Chills from positive events/stimuli, as Qi in Taoism / Martial Arts, as Prana in Hindu philosophy, during an ASMR session, Bioelectricity, Life force, Euphoria, Ecstasy, Orgone, Tension, Aura, Mana, Vayus, Nen, Intent, Tummo, Odic force, Pitī, Frisson, Ruah, Spiritual Energy, Secret Fire, The Tingles, on-demand quickening, Voluntary Piloerection, Aether, Spiritual Chills and many more to be discovered hopefully with your help.
• It was discovered that this energy can be used in many beneficial ways.
• Some which are more biological like Unblocking your lymphatic system/Meridians, Feel euphoric/ecstatic on your whole body, Guide your Spiritual chills anywhere in your body, Control your temperature, Give yourself goosebumps, Dilate your pupils, Regulate your heartbeat, Counteract stress/anxiety in your body with this energy, Internally Heal yourself access your Hypothalamus on demand,
• and I discovered other usages which are more spiritual like Accurately use your Psychic senses (clairvoyance, clairaudience, spirit projection, higher-self guidance, vision from your third eye)with this energy, Managing your Auric field, Manifestation, Energy absorption from any source and even more to come.
• If you're interested in learning how to use this subtle energy activation for these ways, here are three written tutorials going more in-depth and explicitly revealing how you can do just that.
• P.S. Everyone feels its activation at certain points in their life, some brush it off while others notice that there is something much deeper going on. Those are exactly the people you can find on the subreddit community spiritualchills where they share experiences, knowledge, tips on it and if you are wanting to develop discipline, purpose, self-worth, or strength, start your journey today at EnergyLibrary.
