myquals 20M TY in bach in financial markets in a top college in Mumbai. I am conventionally and academically smart with 90s in 10th , 80s in 12th . I got a campus placement as a relationship manager (good enough pay of 40k in hand) in a top pvt bank in India .
I am smart in a sense that I invest and have made a corpus of around 1.7 lakhs over 2 years from 29k . I do not wish to work as RM . I have internship exp in IB too ( done in TY).
Considering all , my options currently are :
- Govt job (SSC CGL , RBI grade B , UPSC) (while doing some job either govt or pvt)
- Pursue Master in Economics (no base in eco in undergrad but have strong basics in Macro and Macro) . Appear for CUET 25 or CUET 26. I wish to go for top colleges only (Mumbai or Delhi) Get placed in pvt sector or appear for a Post grad jobs in RBI and other places.
- I love economics but think that masters might take away my job prospects in equity markets. I don't have problem working in Eco jobs if the pay is good. Placement is my top priority not PhD .
- Pursue and build a career in Pvt sector by finding better opportunities.( Job market is down so :( )

Hi i'm just looking for some clarity and advice. I know this year i've got to repay the Higher Income Benefit as i earnt over £50k going through the calculator and it seems a little hig but ok £686 repayment (£54800 salary). But if i add my Medical insurance ~£700 the repayment shoots up to £830 (this is the only change). Why does getting an extra £700 mean i have to pay £144 more. the calculator on the .gov website says i should be paying the first figure. 55% of £1248 = £686? Can someone explain it to me before i go crazy trying to phone them next week

2025.01.24 20:23 Hazards-of-Love I was physically assaulted at a train station during rush hour.
My therapist told me it would be a good idea to write about what happened. I really enjoy writing, so sorry in advance it’s longer than normal stories here.
So, some background I ride public to get home and this happened on the BART(Bay Area Rapid Transit) leg of my hour and thirty minute commute. In the communities relating to the SF Bay Area, everybody talks about how horrible and underfunded BART is, I can’t believe I finally got the true “BART experience”! I’ve decided to write this in story form because that’s what I’m good at. Sorry if it’s a mix of past and present tense, I wrote this all in sitting because I don’t have class on Friday.
The characters are:
Me (F 20)
Sadist no. 1 (F n/a)
The Harpies (F n/a)
The time was 4ish when I left. On the train, around ten minutes of my 30 minute train ride home, a group of 6 or 7 girls get on. They were around my age. At first they just talked loudly, I’m autistic, and sensitive to loud noises, especially talking loudly, so I played music to drown out their voices. Eventually I heard one screaming, and I took my AirPods out and looked up to see Sadist no.1, she was screaming at the top of her lungs to one of the harpies. Me being autistic and naïve, I thought maybe she could also be neurodivergent, and having a meltdown, or just really having immense trouble with volume control. “Normal” people don’t act like that. I stupidly told her she was being very loud and making me anxious. I swear she was yelling louder than my mom, which is a crazy feat, Sadist No. 1 could have set a world record with that shit. What’s even crazier is that she really kept up screaming every word which could be another achievement. I told her I was autistic and she was disrupting everyone in the train car. Man, was that a stupid thing to do. But hindsight 20/20 I guess.
She got all up in my face, asking me “Do you want to fight, bitch?” She repeated herself 3 or 4 times. I was fairly calm and I looked up and said, “uhm… no, not really.” I guess my calm demeanor pissed her off more because she got more irate. She probably wanted me to cry or be scared of her. She tried to intimidate me, but it didn’t work. She kept on getting in my face, but I really thought she was bluffing because 80% of the time it’s a bluff. Every time she asked, I told her “No,”. Eventually I switched my music over to Gojira to drown them out even more. When I got to my stop, I ended up having to climb over the seat to leave the train because they were all in the way. I didn’t realize it, but they had followed me out onto the platform. Sadist No.1 played dirty. She grabbed me by the hair when my back was turned. She yanked my head back and with her other hand, she started punching me in the face. She got four or five hits in before I escaped. I couldn’t get to the stairs because her harpies stood in the way. So I got down against the wall, my knees tucked under me and I used my arms to protect my head (similarly to what you do in an earthquake) she kicked me a few times and when I stayed in my position she started kicking me more. She got what she wanted, I was scared of her. She grabbed me by the hair again and I think her harpies joined in, but it happened so fast I honestly couldn’t tell. I was focused on protecting myself. One of the bystanders finally yelled that she had called 911 and they ran like the cowards they are. The whole thing lasted maybe 5 minutes,
One of the bystanders helped me up and she collected my AirPods and phone that had flown out of my hand when Sadist No. 1 grabbed me. I recomposed myself and walked down the stairs. The woman who called 911, let me know the police were on their way, but she also told me to contact BART police as well. I ended up filing a police report and I pressed charges against them as well. I’m fucking lucky- maybe I should buy a lottery ticket. She couldn’t punch for shit. Nothing she did left a mark, the only part of me that still hurts is my scalp- from where she came up from behind and fucking grabbed me. Did I mention that the overconfident sadists beat up a poor older woman after they were finished with me. They were caught easily, maybe an hour and a half later. Currently, I feel jaded and unbothered by the whole thing. Is it a bad thing that I’m indifferent? My mom says I’ll eventually feel something, but in past traumatic incidents I’ve had the same reaction. I just don’t care, I know someone attempted to make me scared of them and it worked as it was happening but instantly went away when her and her group of degenerates ran off. I started feeling this way an hour after the incident. In my memory, it plays like a bad dream, it’s mostly in 3rd person for some reason, it feels unreal. But it’s all real, I’ve got video evidence of her screaming and ranting, I believe it also includes her threatening me as well. I sent it all to the police and the incident was recorded on cctv. It really happened to me I genuinely can’t fucking believe it. Sadist No. 1’s dirty tactics really didn’t work in the long term. I can laugh at it, and I do, even though it just happened last night. If you don’t believe me, that’s fine, I don’t really give a fuck because I know it actually happened.

Hello everyone,
I get so anxious in some situations where I have to speak or present in front of people.
My heart starts racing and I find it difficult to breath and I stutter while speaking as well.
My wedding is coming soon and I’m already anxious regarding the weeding speech.
I tried 40 mg of propranolol before interviews/presentations but it didn’t help much so I intend to pump it up to 80mg on the wedding day.
So my question is 80mg for high stress situation like that too much ? And are there any sexual side effects?

For Christmas this year, I got myself the Dash mini rice cooker to finally make some good rice that's not in the microwave. I've made white rice with both water and beef broth, and while it is delicious, I think I can do a little better.
I have some packaged cubes of steak from Costco that I want to use, and I think that putting that, some white rice, some seasonings like soy sauce, mirin, and maybe sugar, and even a handful of frozen vegetables like peas, carrots, and corn would make a great meal for one. I would like to know if this is a good idea, and what the measurements should be.
To recap, here are the ingredients I'm thinking of:
-pre-cut cubes of steak
-white rice (1-2 cups)
-water(or beef broth)
-soy sauce (1-2 tablespoons?)
-mirin(1-2 tablespoons?)
sugar(maybe?)
-frozen vegetables(peas, carrots, corn)
-salt and pepper
If these sound like good ingredients to use in the rice cooker, to at least make a decent meal for one, I'd love to make this. If you all have any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Among scientists working in fundamental theoretical physics, it is commonly assumed that causation does not play any role in the elementary physical description of the world. In fact, no fundamental elementary law describing the physical world that we have found is expressed in terms of causes and effects. Rather, laws are expressed as regularities, in particular describing correlations, among the natural phenomena. Furthermore, these correlations do not distinguish past from future: they do not have any orientation in time. Hence they alone cannot imply any time-oriented causation.
