What do y’all think

All y'allses is very Southern idiomatic speech, meaning, all of y'all's (you all's), or that all belonging to y'all. all is a relatively common way of making an inclusive pronoun. Someone might say of a picnic table of food, "Did you make any of that all?" If the speaker is addressing several people, they might say, Did y'all make any of that-all? "If y'all'd started when I told you to, y'all'ld've already been done by now!" - No, I'm not making that up. I've never seen it written before, but I've heard (and said) things like it my whole life. – An argument for the superiority of "y'all" over "you guys," which fills the same grammatical niche in other parts of the US that "y'all" does in the South. Economical: one word, one syllable. Nonsexist. Gracefully takes a possessive. "Is that you guys's new minivan?" vs. "Is that y'all's new Tesla roadster?" It should be the first: "Y'all" In contractions, apostrophes represent where letters were taken out. "Y'all" is a contraction of "you all". the "ou " was taken out, so you put an apostrophe were it used to be, giving you "y'all". The proper New York spelling is Youse. Wikipedia lists this variation as used in NYC and Chicago. In formal English, the second person plural (speaking to more than one person) is formally "you" (other European Languages have a formal You, which is usually the same word as the second person plural used to address a singular, but because the word doesn't change in English... we do or don't have it. Since y'all is a colloquial pronoun, its possessive form is basically liberated from prescriptive linguistics which would probably say that y'all is a contraction for you all and therefore must be possessivized as of all of you. Do you know if there is a "standard" way to make y'all possessive, insofar as y'all usage can be considered standard? Ya'll, I have heard from grammatically correct Southern friends, was a version of you, while all y'all was the form for you all (i.e. plural). But either way, the sooner this thing dies from the English language, the better. I'm a Southerner of the "you/y'all" variety (although all y'all doesn't sound foreign), so I'm curious if you could give a couple of examples where they're addressing you personally with y'all. I sometimes wonder if it's not either a phonetic misunderstanding (e.g. a drawled 'ya' for you) or a situation where you may be the only person in the ... By comparing y’all and you all in Wiktionary, now I understand what you mean by saying that “you all” is ambiguous. But I find your way of stating it as “the ambiguity of whether you mean y’all or simply you all” pretty confusing. Thank you for trying to clarify it anyway. – Y'all did not have. Y'all didn't have. Y'all didn't've. It would sound like, "Yawl dintuv," which is quite a bit shorter than "You all did not have." I did not keep the /d/ in didn't've because if the person is contracting this much already, they probably would say, "dint've." If you did want to keep the /d/ it would be pronounced, "didn'tuv."

Help with understanding results Hi everyone! First time posting. Today I had a follow up with my hematologist and am confused with my results! The first two photos are from Oct. I then did 5 weekly rounds of iron infusions. The last photo is from today. I haven’t gotten my ferritin results yet and maybe that’ll clear things up, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone can help me understand what this may mean/if these are normal levels for after infusions

2025.01.24 20:30 wizardrous A thorough review of why I did not like this movie.

I gave it a 3/10. I didn’t hate it as much as I expected, but I definitely disliked it overall. It did not feel like a movie. It felt like a particularly violent two parter episode of Discovery, with incredibly shaky camera work.
Immediately didn't feel like Star Trek when it began with her murdering her family, but I suppose that's on brand for Georgiou. The intro with the Section 31 computer voice that sounded like a Majel Barrett impersonator was pretty bad. I don’t like how they just introduced the whole supporting cast in Georgiou’s big expositional conversation with the Section 31 guy. The scene that followed was even more contrived as it introduced all the characters’ unique quirks.
Now about all those characters…
Michelle Yeoh have a hell of a performance as Georgiou, but I think most of us can agree this character has been taken as far as she should go. It’s time to move past all the death and torture.
The Section 31 leader actually really nailed the moral ambiguity of the organization. He was a little one note but ultimately a decent character.
The shapeshifter was actually pretty cool. I like Sam Richardson, so I’m glad they gave him a good character. He was relatable to what I might be like in those situations.
The Deltan died pretty quickly, so I don’t have much of an opinion. Probably for the best, since Deltans are kind of a problematic species.
Space Daria (Rachel Garrett) was alright despite not being written with much of a personality. The "chaos goblin" bit made me cringe though.
The guy in the Vulcan suit was just a wonky alien of the week, and his whole gimmick was that he was the opposite of a Vulcan. However, I’ll admit the betrayal took me by surprise.
The guy in the other mech suit was actually annoying in a funny way, so I kind of have mixed feelings about him.
San was a pretty cringey villain, who just never got over a broken heart and became delusional with his idea of “righteous mercy”. Also the gimp suit was kind of weird, but that’s not as important.
So San being the villain raises some more questions about time travel. How exactly was he in the Lost Era when that’s not when he and Georgiou are from? How did he know exactly what time to travel to in order to find her?
I liked a few scenes, but not many…
I liked the scene where they were solving the mech guy’s murder. I definitely didn’t see it coming when his suit was hacked to kill him. And the tiny alien weirdo being the traitor took me by surprise as well.
The sets were kind of cool, although as usual they were too dark. I dug the space station with the wildly impractical design. I didn't expect it to go to warp at the end. The bar was pretty cool too, although it felt kind of like it was from Farscape. The ships at least felt very Star Trek. The costumes were 50/50.
There are way too many fight scenes. Also a lot of torture. And as with everything about Section 31, there’s a lot of overpowered technology mysteriously never makes its way into anyone else’s hands in the future.
Admittedly it was cool learning more about Terran politics, and Georgiou’s backstory. Kind of weird they seemed to imply the Terran empire wasn’t as fucked up before Georgiou, when we’ve seen that it was already that bad in Enterprise.
It makes me nervous that the end felt like it was setting up a sequel. I want to see the franchise go in another direction.

So a crew just tried to steal my 2nd 24 TLX Type S. It has a state of the art system on it now that actually prevents theft, but they did fuck up my key cylinder and took the cover. I am not that worried about the key cylinder right now, but I do want to get a replacement cover for the keyhole.

Both models I'm considering, 21KKX017US and A82ZRUA#ABA, use a ryzen 5 7530U, come with 8GB ram, 256 drive. I know the thinkbook's IPS screen should best the hp. I'm replacing a family laptop, trying to get the best igpu for the $$. What are your thoughts?
Current use will be all rounder but could do some video editing in the future. Only will try to play older games. Any other suggestions?

2025.01.24 20:30 Mintberrycrunch42 Issues: Constant game crashes and freezing

I experience a lot of situations in which my game randomly freezes followed by a crash after about a minute or so of the game being frozen. what's both very weird and extremely infuriating is that it consistently does that before a final round. Once the timer on the loadout selection screen reaches 0 the game freezes and i have to restart.
Any tips on what could cause this?
