Hi everyone,
As the title says, Why do people praise so much for it? It's prone to cracking, and there are other affordable options in the market that are long-lasting and are not prone to break unless something strong causes a damage.
For me it feels like, "It looks nice, it'll probably crack, but I don't care, I'll buy it anyway".
For me, I'd prefer to buy a pen that people say, "Hey my father has had it since the fall of the USSR and it didn't break neither itself nor his wallet" than something that leads me to have fear that it won't keep its structural integrity for quite long.
There are other brands (Pilot, Lamy...) that do not greatly degrade after months or years of being an EDC choice and are even more afordable or at the same price range as an TWSBI Eco.

2025.01.24 21:03 FalseDisk4358 How do I politely tell my dad's girlfriend that her reorganizing needs to stop?

My dad's girlfriend recently moved in and has decided that the way we have lived in the house for the past 8+ years is completely wrong and everything needs to be reorganized.
To be fair, some stuff was helpful. The pantry is neater. Most of what's she's done, however, is nonsensical.
For example, the cups which were in the top cabinet which can be easily accessed are now moved to a bottom cabinet that you have to bend down to grab. Common medicines (DayQuil, pepto, Tylenol, bandaids, etc.) are now in the hall closet with the towels.
There's some other minor stuff like switching what was on the right side of the stove to the left or insisting the vacuum be kept in the garage.
I have brought it up to her a few times that I don't think it's a good idea but she insists that if I give it time I'll realize her way makes more sense. I feel like maybe this is some weird power play to assert that she lives here now. My dad is being a typical dude and is just shrugging it off.
I did try moving some stuff back but the next day I discovered that she had just moved it again. I don't want to have to go on a scavenger hunt every time I eat.
Is there a polite way I can say that the way she's organizing things is worse and it needs to be put back?

Build updates Updates from my previous post. Electrical cabinet work has started. AC to DC for the stepper drivers outputs 45V with a 700VA transformer. Be adding the control board that’s interfaces with Mach 3 over parallel port. Mechanical work is almost complete. All Axis are installed and working silky smooth. Next job is to get the steppers spinning and tram it all in with a dial indicator. Can’t wait to get cutting!

I’ve just been baffled with the evolution of this story, I can’t stop thinking about the twists and turns through the months I gotta get this out there. About a year ago our office had a bunch of divorces all at once. Those folks all got close and with that rumors started flowing. Two people started to hook up (just announced yesterday they’re expecting a baby). Others just hung out. And two others were accused of having a relationship let’s call them Jane and John. John is second in charge, pretty high up in what we do (I won’t out our exact field), and Jane is a very low level staff member who does report direct but is in his chain of command. No clue where rumors started but they spread like wildfire, enough so that there was a meeting to explicitly state Jane and John are not dating. Months go by, nothing.. Winter rolls in and rumors pop up again. According to two women in the office Jane and John have been spotted at dinner and John has been spotted leaving Jane’s early in the morning. An older woman at work approaches management and tells them and is told there’s no policy that says it’s wrong, move along. Suddenly it’s closed door meetings, management is gone all the time. A few days before Christmas one of the managers is schedule to be out but comes in and says “i have to handle something” Jane is brought in to her office for a few minutes, and then sent home early. And manager leaves. The next week we receive notice that Jane got a new job somewhere else. The place she got a job is notorious for paying way better than our office, so there’s always talk when there’s a job opening, there was no job opening. Strings were obviously pulled to get her the job and get out of our office quickly. This kind of confirmed the rumors that Jane and John were together and they needed to protect John’s job. Jane leaves the office for about a week. Yesterday John approaches us to let us know he’s engaged! His fiancée is 20 weeks pregnant. And we actually know his fiancée. Because it’s Jane. The thing that’s baffles me is the woman who reported it then just starts sobbing, nearly inconsolably. Like..what does that mean??? Anyways, trust your gut. The relationships are usually real

2025.01.24 21:03 boywithabigfart78 I don't know what's biting me and it's driving me crazy

For the past 2 weeks I've been getting bit up, (I assume it's bug bites) but the problem is there is no sign of bugs anywhere. My biggest suspicion was bed bugs since my bites are pretty clustered (though not entirely), but I read online that they target the limbs more and my bites are entirely on my torso and thighs. I even tore up my bed, looked under, looked in my chair, my dresser, my closet, even my dang cat's fur and I found no TRACE. Not even dirt or shells or anything bugs leave behind. I'm starting to doubt it's even bugs because nobody else in my household has had any of my symptoms. I do remember the first "bite" was the biggest one, which dried out and hasn't gone away yet, strange because a bug bite for me has never gotten so dry like that.
In summary: I'm covered in itchy red bumps ONLY on torso and thighs, is there a bug that matches that?

Well I just figured my way through the miraidon matchup which is cool, but now I got a new problem. I am losing to both Calyrex.
Caly I just sets up TR and just damages my pokemon to the point where when TR ends, I do not have enough juice to handle calyrex and it's partners. I wish I could say that Zacian just counters Calyrex I, but usually the partners are there to deal with Zacian (Incin, Foul Play Farig, etc.). I was thinking of a few things I can change, like change tera of Torn so I can live glacial lance as well as taunting so TR doesn't come up. Another idea was to just give Zacian his protect back and maybe change the tera again to like water, but it will weaken the Miraidon MU a bit.
Caly S just gets to set up when the opp leads caly with Incin, and Incin just fakes out my Zacian while Caly gets a +2 from Nasty Plot. I do try to set up screens early then T-Wave the calyrex, but it usually obliterates me by then. Maybe I have to use a different lead against Caly S, like Grimmsnarl and Urshifu and either make caly tera or make incin tera, but I do not know if that strategy is viable.
So are there team changes I can make to have a better MU against both Calyrex?

Does anyone know how to fix connecting to the hdmi ports, a lot of the time turning the TV on, it'll be just black, or stays on "connecting to xbox/switch". I have to turn the TV on and off 2-3 times sometimes for it to load the connected device, I have tried all hdmi ports, and all 3 have the same problem

TLDR: What is the max income that the person can have and what sources of income are looked at?
Background: Retired dad at 70 years old is currently on Medicare insurance. (Mom already passed away.) He is starting to get dementia and will need either at home assistance or out of home facilities to stay at. Looking to downgrade from Medicare to Medi-Cal but not sure what funds need to be moved around (and other limiting requirements) to qualify for Medi-Cal in California. Website is vague and does not list specific items and when I call they number- I am out on hold forever.
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. Otherwise, I will need to visit and speak to the hospital financial aid team to inquire about Medi-Cal.
