I honestly don’t know how to describe how I feel. During the day I feel great and happy with my decision but since I only really smoked at night (except for very rare occasions) that’s where it’s really difficult for me. I’ve forced myself to establish a relatively consistent sleep schedule and falling asleep is starting to get easier. Staying asleep is a huge problem for me and I wake up a lot in the very early morning hours. I can feel my brain fog and derealization getting better by the day very slowly but it’s honestly just hard existing at night since it was such a strong habit. Cravings are very strong at night and even though I know for a fact I won’t give in to them it just takes so much focus that I kind of just do nothing but watch yt for multiple hours. I feel like shit afterwards but at least I’m still sober. I feel stupid saying this but I really hope it will get easier soon. I’m tired of being so lazy at night when I used to smoke but if I try doing anything else the cravings get too strong or the laziness takes over. Feel free to give me advice or encouragement I could really use it. Thanks!

I’ve never understood why people say “I don’t care what people think about me” as a flex. Like… I know I’m probably in the minority here but I think that’s pathetic. Not caring what other people think of you is a sign of clinical depression. And even then, it’s not so much that they don’t care, it’s that they’re so totally demoralised that they don’t put the effort in.
We need to stop conflating “I don’t care what people think of me” with “I’m confident in how I’m living my life.” Because those AREN’T the same thing.
If I become an actor and my parents really wanted me to become a doctor, but I’m set on pursuing acting even if they hate it, it’s not that I don’t care what my parents think of me. If they said “you’re no longer our son, we disown you” then I’d be utterly devastated. I CLEARLY care what they think of me. But maybe in this hypothetical I’m too set on becoming an actor that, although I care what they think, this is just something I have to do for me.
“I don’t care what anyone thinks” isn’t a flex. It just isn’t. “I’m confident in my direction” is a flex and a decent one. But complete indifference towards the opinions of others sounds like a fucking sociopathic thing to say and it isn’t cool or edgy, it’s weird and sad.
Confidence =/= indifference. It’s just that the more confident you are, the less you allow the opinions of others to guide or define you. But that isn’t the same as not caring.
Whenever someone says they don’t care what anyone thinks of them it sounds just sad and frankly the more people say it, the less I believe it’s how they actually feel.

2025.01.26 07:32 SimpleBlackberry1836 Vorticella in snail tank

I am just about fed up with dealing with this stuff. I have had vorticella in my shrimp/snail tank for months now. The tank in question had a little mini crash in its cycle but its currently in the last phase with nitrites being converted to nitrates and i was going to try to wait it out. My three little ramshorns have made it through the entire process along with a surprising amount of shrimp. There are also a few baby mystery snails that i just found as well.
My question is... How do i go about eradicating the vorticella without harming my snails? Some shrimp safe treatments arent safe for snails and im having a difficult time finding any really helpful information about it concer ing vorticella treatment in a mystery snail tank. Its to the point that theyre starting to colonize all over the glass and quite a few of the plants.
Please help me. Im so overwhelmed with it at this point that ive considered just breaking the tank down entirely but dont want to risk transferring it to the other tanks ive got by moving the inhabitants, which leaves me with rehoming to the guy at the lfs who seems to have all the answers but wont really share. The gatekeeping is weird to me but whatever.

Održana akcija čišćenja na Jarunu. Organizator: Zadovoljni smo, ali i tužni DANAS se odvila prva akcija u sklopu projekta Počisti u svom kvartu, u organizaciji Čistećih medvjedića. Čistila se šumica kod baseball igrališta na Jarunu.
"Naravno, na akciju su dobrodošli svi, bez obzira iz kojeg su kvarta. Kako ono bješe – veselimo vas se vidjeti u što većem broju! Čisto, čisto!", poručili su prije početka akcije organizatori, a kasnije su nam potvrdili da su jako zadovoljni odazivom i rezultatom.
"Jako smo zadovoljni, očekivali smo petnaestak ljudi, ali došlo nas je otprilike 25. Teško je procijeniti točno koliko smeća smo prikupili, no riječ je o otprilike 60 velikih vreća i jedno tonu i pol glomaznog otpada", rekao je Juraj Tomljanović, jedan od organizatora.
"Održali smo već više od 400 akcija čišćenja, a bit će ih još. Samo u sklopu akcije Počisti u svom kvartu bit će ih 12. Svakog vikenda će se održavati u nekom drugom kvartu u Zagrebu, ali i izvan njega", najavio je organizator te dodao da su zadovoljni današnjom akcijom, ali i ljuti.
"Ljuti nas količina smeća u šumama, na parkingu i u prirodi. Jučer su se građani uspjeli organizirati da bojkotiraju trgovine, možda ne bi bilo loše da bojkotiramo i bacanje smeća u prirodu", zaključio je Tomljanović.
"Pronašli smo još više smeća nego što smo očekivali. Cilj ove akcije nije bio samo da očistimo smeće, već i da osvijestimo ljude o tom problemu", zaključio je organizator.
Projekt Počisti u svom kvartu financiran je iz proračuna Grada Zagreba, a Čisteći medvjedići su volonterska udruga koja organizira različite javne akcije čišćenja.

First I want to start this off by saying that it’s not just a roommate it’s a family member I thought I could trust. Before this family member who we’ll call Alyssa. Alyssa moved out here with me and other roommate who we’ll call Emma. Alyssa stayed in another state and wanted to change her ways so she asked to come live with me and Emma. It was some debating and unfortunately we decided that Alyssa could come stay. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and had to upgrade to a 3 because Alyssa did not want her own apartment she wanted all of us to be together. Alyssa and Emma are both on the lease but Alyssa keeps bringing company over that was known for doing something that were very uncomfortable with. Alyssa told us what they did and expected us to be okay with it. Upon finding out this information we expressed to Alyssa that we know what they did and we do not want them there at all. Well Alyssa feels like because she pays rent they can come and stay when she’s not there. So I decided to tell her and let it be even more known that he is not welcomed there. I told her it’s not that she can’t bring anyone to the house just not him. After this we found out that Alyssa has been talking to other family members about us and it’s been coming back to me. Emma said something as well and even gave her a furniture set that Alyssa agreed to pay but didn’t do. Weeks later Emma had to get her own furniture but still no payment from Alyssa. We got into it really badly and decided we wanted to break the lease. Alyssa texted and told me and Emma that we can find somewhere else and she can stay there. Not happening. I just feel like if you live with other people you should respect what other people have to say. I would never bring someone that my roommates are uncomfortable with. I’m genuinely hurt that this family member would do this after all the crying and wanting to come stay “for a better life”.
