2025.01.27 05:03 Embarrassed-Key6099 Will I ever trust him again?
Hello. Boyfriend (M26) and I (F24) have been together for 9 years. We have twin boys. I recently found his OF subscriptions. He came clean about a porn addiction said it was due of SA when he was younger. Also said he would stop. A few days ago I looked at his search history and found he is now watching youtube asmr videos of women “massaging” him.
I can’t help but feel worthless. How can I trust him again? Will I ever get over this?
Also add I was touched when I was 9. I also have my own trauma & insecurities

2025.01.27 05:03 No-Celebration-3080 Do you think my remarks about Japan's World War II historical issues make sense?
I am Chinese. A few days ago, I posted the following comment in a history forum under a thread discussing Japan's historical responsibility for World War II. As a result, my comment received over twenty downvotes. Do you Japanese people think what I said makes sense?
Here is the original text of my comment:
Since the Meiji Restoration, Japan's ultimate goal has not merely been to liberate itself but to liberate all people of colour. With the outbreak of war, this objective became explicit. From their perspective, Japan had already liberated China and was determined, through the Pacific War, to eradicate colonialism entirely and liberate all of Asia. Despite suffering atomic bombings and eventual surrender, there remains ongoing debate within Japan between the "defeat faction" and the "victory faction."submitted by No-Celebration-3080 to AskAJapanese [link] [comments]
The "defeat faction" is self-explanatory, but the "victory faction" argues that, while Japan formally surrendered, this is inconsequential because Japan's long-standing mission since the Meiji Restoration—to liberate Asia's people of colour—was ultimately accomplished. The First Sino-Japanese War was fought for this purpose, as was the Russo-Japanese War, the fight against Chiang Kai-shek, and the Pacific War. Ultimately, they believe Japan achieved its goal by dismantling European and white colonial hegemony. Regardless of what the future holds, the people of Asia were finally liberated. Moreover, Japan may regain its leadership position in East Asia at an appropriate time in the future. This is a realistic prospect, as evidenced by countries like Malaysia and Indonesia, where the core leadership of anti-colonial movements was cultivated by Japan during World War II. Aung San Suu Kyi's influence, for instance, is largely attributed to her father, General Aung San, who actively collaborated with the Japanese.
One day, should Sino-Japanese relations severely deteriorate and the United States loosen restrictions on Japan, allowing it to re-engage with Southeast Asia, it will become evident that Japan's sacrifices during World War II were not in vain. The seeds sown during that period could indeed yield results in the future.

2025.01.27 05:03 Chromatinfish Democrats and their problem with Masculinity
One of the biggest takeaways from the 2024 election seemed to be that Democrats had a male voter problem. Young Men was one of the demographics that swung the most right, and despite Democrats' best efforts, they seem to not be able to figure out away to actually capture this demographic. I think their intrinsic issue is that Democrats simply do not understand masculinity beyond a very surface, stereotypical level. Looking Down on Masculinity (pre-2024) \"It's the Woman's Turn to be President\" I think one of the issues with Democrats and men is that in the past couple of years, a lot of the left-wing social culture has been, at the very least, dismissive of problems that men may face, and in certain cases, seen as hostile to men. There's a huge focus on women being underrepresented in STEM for example, but very little about boys struggling more in school than girls do or having higher cases of ADHD. The coining of terms like "mansplaining" or "manspreading", a focus on "you-go-girl" culture (especially in the 2016 election with the "I'm with her" campaign), are all, in some way or form, adversarial towards men and their issues. To many men, it seemed Dems would care more about a wealthy suburban girl who experiences "manspreading" on the bus or is "mansplained" to in the classroom, rather than a young boy whose family struggles to make ends meet in Appalachia. It is not a problem necessarily to call attention to violence and sexual assault. There are, of course, many problems with the legal system when it comes to proving S.A.. However, a lot of the framing, especially the term "toxic masculinity", seemed to paint a very broad picture of all men needing to share some guilt or shame for the actions of a small subset of those men. I believe Dems seem to have somewhat learned from this, as the Harris campaign had a much smaller focus on that "you-go-girl" feminist culture than the Clinton campaign did. However, two things still are a thorn in their neck: (1) is that many liberal spokespeople and advocacy groups continue to focus on this type of modern feminist culture, which continues to taints public opinion against the Dems, and (2) is that a lot of those effects will still remain because of how ubiquitous this culture was at the time. Masculine Stereotypes as a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy (2024 election) \"Tim Walz Isn't a Typical Democrat. That Scares Republicans\" By 2024, it seems the Dems had saw this issue with their previous attitude towards men and sought to change it by running with a campaign of "relating to men". They picked Tim Walz as VP, because who could be more relatable to men, and made him do a bunch of ads doing stereotypical "manly men" stuff, like changing a carburetor (oh, so manly), hunting (nothin' more manly than hunting), and playing video games (because it's a man's hobby after all). Dems also ran a couple of very cringeworthy ads about men being "manly enough to vote for Kamala". Obviously this halfhearted appeasement strategy didn't work. But why not? My argument is, that the problem Dems have with masculinity is not just being dismissive of men, but rather having a fundamental misunderstanding of men. And their half-hearted attempt to pander to men in the 2024 election is a further reflection of that fundamental misunderstanding. It seems an attitude is way too pervasive in Democrats that all men are defined by several specific things that are seen as masculine. That, for example, all men talk a certain way, love hunting, play sports games, and change filters on cars. For being the party that supposedly wants to break stereotypes, they ironically view men in an incredibly stereotypical way. They see men as surface-level, easily defined, and above all, having fragile masculinity. By "fragile masculinity", I mean that Democrats seem to not be able to fathom a man doing something without seeing it as some affirmation of his masculinity. Example: “Everything [Trump] says and does is about masculinity,” said Theresa Vescio, a professor of psychology and women’s, gender and sexuality studies at Penn State University. This professor believes that (1) Trump cares about his masculinity so much that he does everything to look masculine, and (2) the only reason why men support Trump is because he "walks and talks masculine". How shallow is that? The same Democrats then go on and try to argue that Trump or Vance are "weird" and not stereotypically masculine, not realizing that most men aren't that surface-level and simply don't care about the self-imposed masculinity that Dems seemed to have imposed upon themselves. Yes, Walz can probably change a carburetor better than Trump or Vance can. Does it matter to men? Men aren't going to stop supporting Trump because he does a funky dance that Democrats make fun of as "unmasculine". Just how fragile do you think someone's masculinity would need to be for their only reason for voting being whether someone can change a filter on a car or not? My hot take: Dems perception towards men never changed from the '10s to now. Just like in 2016, in 2024 and for the foreseeable future, Dems have always seen men in their lens as stereotypical, shallow, simple-minded, and fragile in their masculinity. In 2016 this resulted in them dismissing men due to viewing them negatively in their stereotypical view. In 2024, they tried to rectify this by pandering to men, but because they never really changed their stereotypical view of men, they failed miserably. They tried to appeal to their own stereotype of what they thought men were like, not the actual reality of what men are like. submitted by Chromatinfish to YAPms [link] [comments] |

Following up on a post from last week, I finally pulled the trigger on the speedy 38! I bought this from an AD after calling every single one in my area. After hours of negotiations on the phone, on text, and in person, I was able to get a 10% discount and an Omega hat😅🥲. The SA also told me that there will be a price increase in the next month or so. Thank you to everyone who helped me in the last post and feel free to ask me any questions!
