2025.01.27 04:10 RainbowSooplex [19/M] ✨️✨️Swedish bassist looking for some new long-term friends✨✨
By the way, if the flair says age 18-21, the sub just put that there by itself, so you don't have to be in that range to reach out at all.
Heyo everyone :) my name is William. I'm 19 years old, I'm from Sweden, and I'm in need of some new company!
I would say that overall, I'm a very caring person. Your comfort will always be my top priority, and I will never do anything that would put pressure on you, or make you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. It's important to me not only that you're comfortable around me, but that you tell me if something's making you uncomfortable. I'm an open book, I don't judge, and I look out for ya. :) I also don't let things get to me easily, and am overall a very accepting, calm, laid back person. You shouldn't feel judged by me at any point!
Some things about me: I've been playing the bass for over four years now, and I mainly play and listen to rock and metal music. My absolute favorite band is Iron Maiden, but some other favorites are Black Sabbath, Dio, Rainbow, Deep Purple, Children of Bodom, just to name a few :)
Other than music I also love video games! I've grown to like a lot of role-playing games, but I'd say my taste is pretty varied. Among my favorites are Terraria, Morrowind, Oblivion, Disco Elysium, Fallout 1 & 2, the Ratchet & Clank games, BioShock 1 & 2, and System Shock 1 & 2. There's probably one or two I'm forgetting about here.
Other than all that, I also have autism. I was always the "weird" kid growing up, the social outcast who always seemed to say the wrong thing or weird people out. I always knew something was wrong with me, but it wasn't until I got my diagnosis in 4th or 5th grade that I finally got closure. I can't exactly say how it affects me from the inside looking out, but I do know it affects everything from the things I say, how I say them, my thoughts, social interactions & social cues, things like that. (also to prove you read the whole post, tell me your favorite fruit when you dm me.) I'm an introverted person due to my anxiety around social interactions, so that's why I'm posting for friends online lmao :) How my autism affects me is something you'll find out more as you get to know me for longer.
And just so you have an image in your head, I look kinda similar to my Snoovatar (that is the Reddit avatar). Long brown hair, brown eyes, that sort of thing. If you're really curious as to what I look like, you can just ask me to send you photos.
But anyway, that's me! If any of this sounds interesting to you and you think we can click, then don't be afraid to shoot me a DM. If not, have a great day, and take care of yourself!

2025.01.27 04:10 Rockapotamus06 New issues in Marvel Unlimited
I recently picked up USM Vol 1 with the intent of just following this series. However, I ended up reading Ultimate Invasion and Ultimate Universe before I started USM and am really intrigued with the universe and want to keep up with all the new titles. I plan on picking up USM and The Ultimates monthly and reading BP and X-Men through trades. My question is I want to get caught up to the new releases on Marvel Unlimited but the issues are like 3 behind on the app. When do new issues make it to ultimate is there a schedule available somewhere?

2025.01.27 04:10 Business_Goal6395 Struggling Mentally
I constantly feel like I’m a piece of old clothing that someone only picks up when they are bored and I’m not sure how to fix this. I’ve been in therapy for years, have changed friends, complete my therapist’s recommendations, do all the things I’m supposed to do (workout, work, help others) and nothing truly works. It leads to me reach out or letting terrible people back into my life such as ex-boyfriends and toxic friends. I need advice on how to heal this if anyone has any different thoughts than those around me. Thank you much.

2025.01.27 04:10 PeachTrees- A guide on how to improve your aim on PC
Hey, from my conversations with friends, and from watching replays from strangers, it's dawned on me that almost none of you have any idea of what you're doing when it comes to aiming. So I thought I would write a small guide, and hopefully it helps some people. If anything I say in this post angers you, please feel free to bring your comments elsewhere. I don't care.
Many people claim that sensitivity is preference. And that's just not true. Within a small variance it is, but on a general level, no. To start, if you're someone who changes their sensitivity often, or per character, or you're one of those people that has a "Sniper button" on their mouse (it changes their DPI with a simple press of the button). Then stop it.
Aim is just another form of muscle memory. You will never get good if it's never consistent. Pick your DPI and sensitivity, and use that for the rest of your life.
Before I get into the nitty gritty, the size of mouse you use and the way you hold it do matter. If you're insane, feel free to measure your hand and find the perfect mouse. If you're normal, if it feels too small. It's probably too small. As for how you hold it, there are three common ways, but most people use claw. And I don't care enough to get into it all of them. So I'll just talk about the most popular one.
For claw, The base of your palm; as well as the tips of your index and middle finger, should be in contact with the mouse. The fingers should be arched with a gap of air between them and the mouse. I don't care about your other fingers, whatever is comfortable.
Okay, so now onto things that matter more. First, if you have enhanced pointer precision enabled in your mouse window settings, disable it. In game, make sure you have mouse smoothing and mouse acceleration off. I'm not explaining them all, but I will briefly complain about them. I understand that people who don't play games would perhaps want enhanced pointer precision. So windows gets a pass. But what kind of gamer wants some shitty system that randomly changes their sensitivity? Maybe someone using a mouse built in the 1800s wants mouse smoothing??! Why are they even in the game. Anyways.
Your DPI and sensitivity should be as low as possible while not hindering your ability to aim. The most popular DPI is 800. So I'd recommend that. But I'm not your mom, so do whatever you want. From there, you want to just barely be able to do a 180 with a flick of your mouse, starting from the middle position of your mouse pad. Assuming your DPI is 800, I think it's somewhere around 4.5. But I use 400 DPI, and a slower sensitivity than most. So idk.
If you're someone who uses characters that primarily flick, like hela, then just go with whatever is the slowest sens to hit that 180 no problem. If you're using a character that is primarily tracking, like starlord, you might want to consider a slightly higher sensitivity.
When you're in game, make sure you're always aiming at where you believe an enemies head would be if he popped out. Do not be one of those people that stares at the ground. It sounds like a small thing, but the greater a distance you need to flick your mouse, the less likely you are to hit it.
If you're hardcore, do some kovaaks aim training. Just do 30 minutes a day as a warmup, don't bother doing it longer than that. Aim training is useful at targeting weaknesses and warming you up. But nothing will ever beat just playing the game.
If you have any corrections to anything I said, or anything else of note, feel free to comment it. I'm always happy to learn easy ways to better my aim.
Anyways, most importantly, moon knight is trash and needs a nerf.

2025.01.27 04:10 TomTomFred The Murder of Charles Thompson
The Murder of Charles Thompson
On March 8, 1977, 18-year-old Kevin Baker, who had left his New Jersey home in search of adventure, found himself in a Las Cruces, New Mexico courtroom, accused of murdering Charles Thompson, a 47-year-old truck driver from South Dakota. What followed was a trial that delved into questions of mental health and the controversial defense of "homosexual panic."
Kevin Baker’s journey began on February 22, 1977, when he left his Clinton, New Jersey home, fed up with his high school life and seeking a new beginning in California. By early March, he had made his way to New Mexico, where he encountered Charles Thompson. Thompson, also on the road to a new chapter in Arizona, picked up the hitchhiking Baker. After traveling together, they decided to spend the night at a Tularosa, New Mexico motel. But the morning of March 8 would never come for Thompson.
That night, Baker brutally murdered Thompson, striking him ten times in the head with a 14-inch iron rod he carried for protection. The crime scene was gruesome, with Thompson’s blood pooling on the floor and climbing the walls. After the killing, Baker fled with Thompson’s car and the murder weapon. For six days, Baker eluded capture, eventually seeking refuge with ranch hands who fed him and gave him shelter before notifying the authorities.
Upon his arrest on March 14, Baker confessed to the murder, claiming he was not inherently violent. He told police that during his hitchhiking journey, he had been propositioned by multiple men but did not fear such advances, believing he could deflect them. He also mentioned finding the iron rod along the road and keeping it for protection. Despite his confession, Baker’s account of the events leading to Thompson’s death would evolve significantly by the time of his trial.
In October 1977, Baker stood trial for intentional homicide. The state argued that Baker had targeted Thompson for robbery, agreeing to stay at the motel to carry out his plan. According to the prosecution, Baker waited for Thompson to fall asleep before attacking and killing him, then fled in Thompson’s car. The defense countered by challenging the notion of premeditation and introducing claims of mental illness and "homosexual panic," asserting that Baker was not in control of his actions at the time of the murder.
During the six-day trial, Baker took the stand, offering a chilling and complex narrative. He described how Thompson initially seemed friendly but later made advances that Baker claimed to have deflected. Baker alleged that Thompson, after showering, made obscene gestures that frightened him. He further testified that Thompson sexually assaulted him, triggering his violent response. This claim of sexual assault emerged only during pretrial sessions with a psychiatrist, which Baker explained by saying he was too ashamed to disclose it earlier.
Baker recounted the attack in vivid detail, stating that Thompson’s cries during the assault intensified his panic and drove him to continue striking the man. After the murder, Baker fled in Thompson’s car but eventually abandoned it, leaving the blood-stained iron rod inside. Wandering the desert for six days, he was eventually captured after being turned in by the ranch hands who had briefly sheltered him.
Key testimony during the trial came from two of the three psychiatrists who evaluated Baker. They diagnosed him with a personality disorder characterized by depression and explosive anger, concluding that he was experiencing "homosexual panic" at the time of the murder. One psychiatrist testified that Baker’s repeated blows to Thompson were an attempt to "punish the sexuality he had inside himself by trying to beat it out of Thompson." While acknowledging Baker’s lack of prior violent behavior, the expert warned that under similar circumstances, Baker could commit such an act again unless treated in a psychiatric facility.
The defense portrayed Baker as a troubled and isolated young man, burdened by feelings of inadequacy and suicidal thoughts. His lawyer emphasized Baker’s panic and frenzy during the attack, arguing that these emotions, rather than a premeditated plan, drove his actions. The jury was asked to consider whether Baker’s mental state mitigated his responsibility for Thompson’s death.
After 15 hours of deliberation, the jury informed the judge that they were deadlocked. While they unanimously found Baker not guilty of first- or second-degree murder, they could not reach a consensus on the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter. The judge ultimately declared a mistrial. Following the trial, Baker was sent to a psychiatric hospital in Albuquerque for further evaluation and treatment, with the possibility of a retrial left unresolved.
The case highlights the complexities of the "homosexual panic" defense, a controversial argument rooted in societal prejudices of the time. Baker’s actions and subsequent trial also underscore the psychological turmoil he experienced, as well as the stigma surrounding both mental health and homosexuality in the 1970s.
The impact on Charles Thompson’s life and legacy was muted in press coverage, a common occurrence in cases where the victim’s sexuality was questioned. Thompson, born in Indiana, left behind grieving parents, two brothers, a daughter, and grandchildren.
As a side note, the sanitorium where Baker was admitted to was notorious for using lobotomies and shock treatments of patients. It finally closed in the 1990s and is now a drug-haven haunted house.

2025.01.27 04:10 Krispygrizzly What is a normal reaction to echinacea tincture?
I've read that echinacea tincture causes tingling and numbness, but often find myself wondering if what I experience is more extreme than normal and perhaps indicative of an allergy or sensitivity.
If I take a dropperful of echinacea tincture and get any on the top of my tongue, it STINGS. It feels like my tongue is coated in teeny tiny spines, like a very subdued version of how I imagine it would feel to lick a stinging nettle. It's accompanied by this cold, metallic sensation that's really quite unpleasant, and a lingering bitter taste that feels like all of my taste buds have gone offline save for the ones that can detect alcohol.
This has happened with multiple store bought echinacea tinctures, and my homemade one.
Does this sound in the realm of normal for someone with very sensitive taste/smell, or is it a red flag?
Thanks!

2025.01.27 04:10 matthejl Power to small shed
I have a shed that sits right next my my house. Like 5-7 feet. I run a led light in there. Could potentially do some small things like airbrushing.
I typically just run an extension cord from outlet on outside of the house and in the door of the shed...but can't close the door...due to the cord being there.
I was wondering what would be the best option to connect the power from the outside of the house into the shed...but a bit more hard wired.
Heavy duty extension cord through the wall...or to an outlet on outside of shed that I can plug into on the inside of the shed.
What are the best options to do this?
