2025.01.27 04:57 Relative_Biscotti257 Can i get in tj through sophomore application if i have a 1380 SAT, and straight A's except for one B+ in world history for my first semester transcript?
For some context the classes i am taking in my freshman year are AP precalculus, advanced biology, advanced world history, IT webtech(basically HTML and CSS coding), advanced language arts 9, advanced computer math(basically java coding), and health/PE 1. The AP class is a +1 boost to my GPA and the advanced classes are +0.5 boost to my GPA. i have A's in all of them except for my adv world history class where i have a B+. Also, i only got a 1380 on the SAT which i believe is 89th percentile, and the recommended percentile is 90%(around 1400 SAT). So do i have any chance of getting in during sophomore application?

I don’t mean to sound cheap but my parents can get pretty upset about that stuff.. I live in Midwest USA and I’m generally curious how much $$ yall are paying for the uv bar and heat lamps and how long do you often run their heat/uv per day? I see people say they run it anywhere from 10-13 hrs. It’s really the only thing that’s stopping me from getting one in the next months. I plan to do have a big enclosure like 120 gallons which is why.

In the past few months, the subreddit has been falling prey to extinction, as many of the people have migrated to discord server which wasn't that much of a problem before (unless for people that can't have discord like Byakko). But now, even the discord is being left dead for days and days. The reason is, no matter how many people try to keep the BCJ 'alive', we really cannot do anything unless we are more influential. For example, I see many people including Byakko, Digitally_Tiny and even myself try to post in the subreddit. But they're all just small, non effort posts to just add to the karma of the server. Nothing more. But the other day, when I posted a 'trend', it was much more influential as Chibi and many others also joined me. So this could be a method to keep the server going.
Nevertheless, unless very 'influential' people like Ray, Rui and Heather join us, there's nothing we can really do. All that matters is what attracts the audience. So in the place of the BCJ, I, Eggs asks everyone to help in atleast keeping the subreddit alive by the method I stated above. This cannot be done by 2-3 people but by the majority itself.

I think it's madness that such a tiny percentage of our population is being hated on and discriminated against. It's like trans people are being labeled as the "bogey man" (sorry it's the only analogy I could think of) who will get you in the night along with immigrants and refugees. Installing fear is a tried and true method of control and I think it's only going to get worse. Who will be next? It makes me so sad.
