On low it's ok, white noise for sleeping but actually kind of loud.
On medium it's very noticeable.
On high it's hard to talk over, and without the brackets will tip itself over.

My (24F) husband (24M) has a younger sister named “Sarah” (20F). Sarah currently attends college at a school about 2 hours away from our town. She’s a very sweet girl, and we get along well.
Sarah is starting to look at internship opportunities for this summer, and she’s interested in interning for a company in my husband and I’s town. The company’s headquarters are located right across the street from our apartment. We’re both excited about the prospect of having her in our city for the summer.
However, here’s where we’re butting heads. My husband suggested that if Sarah gets the internship, she could stay with us for the summer (around 2 months). He thinks that this would make a lot of sense, since Sarah can’t drive. This way, she could just walk to work.
I feel terrible, but I don’t want this. We have a TINY (under 600 sq ft), one-bedroom apartment. Sarah would have to sleep on an air mattress on our living room floor. Since our space is so small, this would essentially mean that we’d only be able to use our bedroom, the kitchen, and the bathroom for the whole summer. The living room is also open to the kitchen, so Sarah would have no privacy, and we wouldn’t be able to use the bathroom, cook, etc without disturbing her. Our space just isn’t suited for overnight visitors.
My husband agrees that it isn’t ideal, but he thinks we should still offer to host Sarah. He says that she doesn’t have a lot of money, and renting an apartment by herself would be hard for her. And without a calicense, she’d have to get around using our city’s bus system, which isn’t perfect.
I really feel like an AH, because he’s right. But I just don’t want to sacrifice my space for that long. So, AITAH? Should we offer to host Sarah?

I've had this laptop for a couple months, and never bothered with some of the additional apps that came with it, but I saw that I can change the boot logo. So I tried it, and now I'm stuck here. I've already tried to spamming F2, F8, F12, and DEL to access the bios, but I got nothing. I also tried letting the battery die and got no outcome either.

2025.01.27 17:16 No_Carpenter_9827 Films you'd like to see a director revisit with a new cut
Recently, I've been thinking about movies that just "missed the mark" or were critical failures that I thought had some merit. Some might have gone through different preview cuts and we changed before general release by the director or studio (or both).
There are many examples of films like this - "The Wild Bunch", "Heaven's Gate", "The Abyss" - where the director revisited the film or a preview or director's cut was released later, sometimes changing critical reception of the film.
One that I think would be ripe for rediscovery is Gus Van Sant's 1993 screen adaptation of "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues". I had read the novel before seeing the film and enjoyed it, thinking it was flawed, but essentially captured the kind of magical realist tone of the Robbins novel. It was shredded by the critics and even got some Razzie awards that year.
I read up a bit about the movie a few weeks ago and apparently the film was significantly re-edited by van Sant after it's premiere at a film festival, with several sequences essential to the Robbins story left out and others extended.
I do wonder about his original cut. One complaint about the film from some critics was that it was dull. I can see that because the sequences he extended in the released cut do play that way. Revisiting the movie recently, it does feel unfocused. It really feels like an editing problem overall.
Critics at the time also called it "outdated", since it was an adaptation of a weird and quirky 1970s novel. I didn't really see it that way back then myself, but I think it might have been ahead of its time, since this kind of fairy tale storytelling was out of fashion then and only made a comeback later.
So, anyway, if anyone from the Criterion Collection sees this, call up Warner Brothers and Van Sant - you might have something interesting to work with for an unexpected re-evaluation of a now thirty-year-old work.
What unsuccessful film that might have trims surviving or exist in an alternate cut would you nominate for release on home media? I'd be curious to check out unsuccessful films others might champion, even if they're flawed, to see what I might have missed.

Vale a pena realmente estudar pra passar neles? A dificuldade do colégio não é bem o ponto, eu sou uma boa aluna, sempre fui uma das melhores da sala, nunca tive esse problema,estudo em escolas de alto nível de ensino (sempre com bolsa) meu medo é me foder psicologicamente mais do que eu já estou, mas nunca sofri bullying em outros lugares tb, eu so estou com muito medo de muita coisa.

Over the last 10 years I have become a master of the art of never checking a bag even for 3 week vacations and it's time to finally replace my Delsey.
I'm looking for recs for a hard shell, spinner carry on that's pretty much the biggest I can get away with. Expandable is obviously a plus. In my experience unless you are flying within Europe you don't actually need your luggage to stay within the exact TSA parameters so please don't use that as your blueprint. More so what will fit overhead/looks REASONABLE even if I'm stretching the rules?
