I (M42) have noticed recently that my wife(39) of 12 years has been in communication with someone she met at work(M52). She is a nurse in a long term care home. One of her residents son visited his father every day at the nursing home. The place isn’t a great place to work and my wife always had disagreements with management. And she says this guy always helped her dealing with them in odd situations and defended her work. She also says he’s had a rough life because his child had autism and they are kind of shunned from family events and other social events. So she supported him as well as a friend.
Recently his father passed away and he invited my to his funeral which she attended with some others from her work. He asked if they could exchange numbers to keep in touch as friends as he would have no more need to go to the long term care home.
At first I thought it was odd but I trust my wife so turned a blind eye. But over past couple months, their conversations last a long time.. she talk to him way more than to me… hours at a time sometimes. I ask why they talk so much and she says they just have a lot of common interests… fitness, his and our children’s school etc. she even invited him to our home cause she wanted to show him our home because she was proud of it after we just moved recently.
Today It was a bit too much. He messaged her at 7am to tell her good morning and to have a good day. I said he to her he was crossing a friendship/marriage boundary that I was not ok with. She got upset with me and saying I should not be upset about it because there is nothing going on he’s just very friendly and he’s too old for her anyway. Now I’m very friendly but lot had never crossed my mind to wish even my best friend good morning randomly.
I told her I’m not ok with it and she shouldn’t dismiss how I feel about and basically to just accept that she has a friend she talks to. (She doesn’t have many other friends)
Should I be upset that this person gives so much attention to my wife? I know she isn’t going out with him and he never even asked her to apparently. But I can’t help but feel good mornings and hour long chats are just not acceptable.
Am I over reacting ?

Any parents with CMPA/allergy babies successfully sleep train? What did that timeline look for you?
Our LO (5 month) was diagnosed with CMPA almost 4 weeks ago and an egg allergy a week ago. I know it takes 2 weeks for allergens to get out of BM/their system and around 8 weeks for their guts to fully heal. The blood in her stool and vomit is gone but I do think she still struggles with gas. How did you handle sleep training?
I have a hard time letting her cry even for a few minutes because I don’t know if her tummy is hurting her or not. Tonight I let her fuss for a few minutes, was able to do crib side comfort and she fell asleep for 5 mins. I repeated that 3 times before I picked her up. When I finally picked her up she burped and threw up everywhere. I’m just feeling stressed about her crying because I really don’t know if she’s feeling okay or not.
If you’ve been through something similar, did you wait 8 weeks after being allergen free before sleep training? Did you let them fuss it out right away under the assumption they’d keep crying if they had an upset tummy?

2025.01.29 03:01 stone500 How am I supposed to solder these boards together? (Virtual Boy repair)
I'm fairly new to soldering, and I got overconfident.
I'm trying to repair my Nintendo Virtual Boy using the Virtual Ribbon repair kit. This is the repair I'm attempting to do

I think everything has gone well, until I get to the part at 13:50 in the video above, where you have to essentially solder the two boards together. I couldn't find any good guides on how to accomplish this, so I'm trying to copy the motions in the video.
I run the solder on both the "top and bottom" like he shows, but the boards aren't really attaching in any way, and the continuity checks almost completely fail. After I'm finished, I'm able to wiggle the boards apart very easily.
Here's some images of what I have so far
I'm not sure I totally understand what this step is trying to do. I'm guessing that by pre-tinning the led array, I'm trying to get those pins to essentially join to the underside of the Virtual Ribbon board by re-melting and added some solder to those pins, but I'm failing pretty hard. Also, I have no idea what the purpose of adding solder to the top of the Virtual Ribbon board is supposed to accomplish.
I'm using 0.8mm unleaded solder with my iron set to ~705, and I'm using a syringe of soldering flux paste from Yezhet.
Any advice or guides on how to accomplish this would be appreciate.

Hello.
I just started a new job about 3.5 months ago.
In my offer letter, I was told I was expected to receive my PE license within 6 months of hire.
Within the first month of working, I did tell my boss I was planning on taking my exam soon.
I just took it today and pretty sure I failed.
This will make it practically impossible to receive my PE within the given timeframe they told me.
Has anyone been in this situation?
Should I get ready to get let go?

Hey everyone, I just took my first practice test on LawHub (PT140– scored a 157). I had 3-8 questions unfilled at the end of each section and had to randomly guess before time ran out. I’ve only been studying for a couple days (read the first four chapters of The LSAT Trainer), but I’m already feeling discouraged about finishing on time while maintaining accuracy.
