I’m going to preface that I know that pretending/masking is not always the best long-term answer to social issues.
I’m looking for suggestions to help in the immediate and not long-term.
My issue is that at times, my autism kicks in and it deeply irritates my friends. They know I have autism, but they always forget about that when they are frustrated with me.
I went to a convention event with them two years ago. Large crowds put me on edge. Long social events put me on edge. So, the whole event has me in a high stress mood. I do my best to cringe, bear it, and mask. The event lasts for 4 days. Towards the middle of the event, my autism slips out and I make choices that irritate my friends. The main one is fast walking ahead of the group. And another is I will just disappear to find a quiet spot but won’t tell anyone until they text me to see where I went. I understand it is shitty for me to do, but the stressors of the event make it hard for me to think clearly 24/7.
I have apologized for my actions.
However, my friends still hold grudges against me from that event. Only one friend speaks to me about it, though. The others never say anything, but I know they have all talked about it. The one friend who will mention it likes to remind me of my actions when they get irritated with me in the present. The same friend will also try to “protect” my other friends from me by telling me how I have hurt everyone. It almost feels like they are “othering” me from the group in these moments.
No matter what, I do my best to be accountable and apologize.
The advice I need, is how can I go about handling myself better in times when my I’m stressed? I have to attend this same 4 day convention this year. I share a hotel room so I can’t really get away to reset. I know what I shouldn’t do: don’t walk ahead, don’t disappear without saying first etc. But what I need help with is how to be more convincing with masking when I’m low on spoons. I know my friends will be watching me like a hawk and any slight incorrect action will set them off. So, any suggestions?
I know my friends are handling this poorly and so am I. Regardless, I just want to show them that I can do better. My words seem to not help so I know I can only heal their grudges by being there and acting differently.

Hi guys, Sooo I need suggestions.
I got into the Cornell MPA program but without any funding. I am an international student with no means of paying the money required for the cost of attendance. The program is a perfect fit for me and I do want to go but not with loans. So any suggestions are welcome.
Also for context, I am not eligible for most of the external fellowships because of well many factors so internal fellowships or scholarships are my only option.

Just got this email from my Masters program saying:
We are writing to inform you that unfortunately we will not be able to offer you an interview for the 2025/26 cohort. We received applications from many more candidates than we can interview, and the pool was particularly competitive this year. You will receive official notice from the Graduate Division later in February.
Is there anything I can do right now to strengthen my chances, rather than anxiously awaiting my rejection? Has anyone been in the same situation?
It sounds like nothing is final yet and I would do anything to bring my application to the committee’s attention. This program is my absolute dream, so I’d really appreciate any advice 😭😭

Can the PCR and 75 Compact be cajunized like the p-01? And if so, is the end result the same? I had been considering a 75 compact for the heavier steel frame, but if the p-01 will have a better trigger after upgrades then the other two, I'll just keep looking for one of those.
