Hello! I Am traveling w my dog for the first time to Mexico from California. She will be traveling as “luggage” is my first time and I have a couple questions.
The airlines requirements are the same than the checkpoint to come back to California? They require vaccines, a health certificate and cdc document as well as a microchip which she has already.
What can I do to keep her calm during the flight, she’s 6months old and she’s a rescue so she’s very attached to me, I’m concerned because I don’t want her to be scared or anything like that.

2025.01.29 02:50 guacislife12 I think my child is academically ready but worried about homework load
My child has a late August birthday so we get to choose if she goes to kindergarten next year or not. We had always planned on keeping her home an extra year for a couple of reasons.
One is that she was a little behind on speech. When we had her evaluated to see if she needed speech therapy at about 2.5, she tested only one point above needing intervention. I figured that she would need the extra year to catch up but to my surprise, her speech has exploded. I think part of it is just time obviously, but the other part is that she started preschool this year and I think that's been the big thing.
The other reason is that I want her to remain a kid for as long as possible. I wanted to her to have an extra year at home. With the way the world is, these kids are going to have it really really tough and I just wanted an extra year to set her up for success in adulthood.
Well. She loves school and we talked to her teacher about her kindergarten readiness and she said that academically and behaviorally she is on track to do k next year. I honestly feel like she should go to k because she is so eager and excited to start reading and writing. She loves writing our family's names and recognizes street signs (she knows our freeway exit!) and recognizes who texts us when notifications pop up on our phones. I feel it would be a disservice to not send her to kindergarten when she seems to be excelling in every way and is excited to learn.
I worry about homework. She can be somewhat of a perfectionist and I've only seen it come out a few times under pressure but if she feels like she's not doing a good job she just shuts down and can't continue. I think the only homework that kindergarteners should be doing is reading with their parents basically so I am really nervous not knowing how much homework she will receive. I think it's a little much to go to school all day and then expect two more hours of work. I asked parents in my neighborhood about this but didn't really get any specific answers.
This was super long but basically I am nervous. If you can't tell, she's my first haha. I am also a late summer birthday and went to school as the youngest in my grade and never regretted it or had problems so I don't know why I'm so nervous. She is a lot quieter than me and less outgoing.
Someone help me chill out about this please. Hahaha.

2025.01.29 02:50 FrequentPot Misdiagnosed missed miscarriage, turned into incomplete miscarriage, trisomy 13 high risk NIPT results
First pregnancy, planned. Healthy mother + father. Normal blood work and normal ultrasound at 6 Weeks 5 days (measuring 1 day behind and heart rate 126). 10 week appointment with doctor I mentioned that I started to feel like myself again starting at 8.5 weeks after experiencing extreme exhaustion and have no morning sickness. Doctor proceeds to check baby’s heart rate on baby doppler which takes 3+ minutes for her to look for and explains that my veins are prominent and that they can hear the baby’s heartbeat in combination with mine. I personally did not hear heartbeat and they reassured me it was present. She proceeded to draw blood for NIPT/genetic screening. 5 days later I end up waking up with bleeding, cramping and diarrhea where I go to the doctor 4 hours later where they confirmed thru ultrasound no heartbeat and missed miscarriage measuring at 7 weeks.
Doctor completely misdiagnosed missed miscarriage by not ordering ultrasound when they couldn’t properly hear the heartbeat at 10 weeks and proceeded to tell me that me and my baby were healthy.
The bleeding and cramping started on a Monday so I opted to wait and see if baby passed naturally since my body was already in process,but scheduled D&C for that Friday in case nothing happened. I bleed all week and had mild cramps. Thursday night I had horrible contractions and passed a big sac plus 6 or 7 big clots. The cramping and bleeding stopped by the morning. The doctor called and said I probably passed everything and that D&C wasn’t required, but I persisted I needed an ultrasound that day to confirm everything passed.
I had ultrasound that afternoon and there was still a large sac and baby was still inside of me. I now had in incomplete miscarriage where I ended up having an emergency D&C that night at 11 weeks 3 days.
4 days after D&C, I just got back that my baby is high risk for Trisomy 13.
With this being my first pregnancy, every doctor appointment (inclusive of 10 week appointment) the doctors reassured me that I was a low risk pregnancy and that I was healthy and that I probably wouldn’t even see doctors, just midwife’s since I feel into that category. I truly believe that the doctors overlooked me since I was healthy and could have diagnosed this earlier. Thoughts?

Most tend to stop there and think that she nothing more than 'gooning' (iykyk) even though that is an aspect of her she is the understanding and embodiment of what sexual experiences are and how they shape us as people.
I remember feeling the most connected to her when I wrote a research essay "You don't hate sex workers you hate the patriarchy" and it was about how the "violence to women" that most people that participate in purity culture claim happens in SW is a direct reflection of the exploitation of women in our society in general. I truly believe that she's the reason that I was able to write it through.
Before anything the goddess of love is an intellectual. Matters off the heart and the body require an immense amount of emotional intelligence that not only comes from deep internalized introspection, but also critical thinking and an understanding of the human mind and how the society we live in interacts with things that concern the heart and sex.
I think the reason why Aphrodite was so venerated and worshipped by sex workers is because she saw them. Because they -as well as the old, children, homeless people, and the disabled- are ignored in a society that actively skips over them yet uses them. Though they refuse to acknowledge that the violence inflicted on them (SWs) is the mirror the world is reflected upon. Society does not like what it sees
And just like Aphrodite as her followers we should bring this love for the other and the marginalized. Its not just compliments and hearts with frills on top. No. NO. remember the war aspect? Yes remember that she demands you be fierce with your kindness. Th

Being kind and loving isn't easy it's grueling it's painful, it's unforgiving but it's necessary. But every tear of sadness, sweat, or blood remember those are to her, Oh beautiful Aphrodite. She's not here to just make you pretty or make that one guy/ girl like you. She's here to metamorphose you into the butterfly you deserve to be. And that's not easy.
