Hey all, my gal is almost 20 years old and for a few years now I've suspected she can't see much but she has been functioning well, even adjusting to new living quarters earlier in 2024. Given her bad eyesight, her pupils are almost always huge, meaning I rarely see much of her green irises. Today I noticed one eye appears to be "filled" with brown -ness...at first it just looked like a larger pupil, but in the light you can see it's lighter than the black of the pupil, so yeah...brown. And she seems even blinder than before. Given her age (and a few other minor issues that go along with that), I can't see myself subjecting her to any sort of surgery, so I am purely interested in knowing if anyone's had a similar experience and what happened or what you did or didn't do about it. (Note: I am taking her to the vet shortly anyway). Basically, the gist for me, is that if this issue is just causing blindness, well, that was already there and I am not going to do anything about it. If it's something else, I may still not do anything about it (again, because of her age and other issues), but interested in others' experiences. Thanks!

If I contact the profile partner or email the persons employer. When does it become harassment, even though this scum stole my money?

2025.01.30 07:01 Novelnerd Calls fail to one landline.
I'm having an issue that is similar to one I have seen on this sub, but the solutions offered don't work. When I call my parents' landline, I get a busy signal, then the call drops. They get ringing, then a dead line (not a dial tone, just dead). They can call me. I can call their cell phones. Everyone else can call me. If I *67, I still get the same issue. Google Fi support was a joke. They started by telling me to have my parents go into the Google Fi app and see if they had blocked me, despite me very clearly specifying this was a landline and CenturyLink. They had me reinstall Fi. They told me my parents had my number blocked. They told me to delete my number from my parents' landline phone and delete their number from mine. They had me delete and reinstall my sim. When none of that worked, they just started saying the problem couldn't be Google Fi. I asked to have my ticket escalated and told them my parents had called CenturyLink and also been told it wasn't their phone. Eventually, support told me I needed Google Pixel support, which they couldn't get me to, even though the system to enter tickets for that is the same system. Pixel support asked me what steps I had taken and asked me to factory reset my phone. It did not solve the problem and it ended that support ticket or combined it with the Google Fi support ticket. The next day, I received an email asking if the issue was resolved. I responded that the problem persists. Crickets.
Does anyone have an idea of a fix for this? Or a trick for getting a support ticket escalated to a technical team that can properly investigate?

2025.01.30 07:01 pettyfan45 Was in a car accident on the 18th, I have questions and concerns about what is going on next (MO)
So on January 18 my Mother (driver), Twin Sister (front passenger), a family friend (Rear driver side), and myself (rear passenger side) were T-boned right in the driver's door by someone on their phone going about 50 MPH+ (in a 30) on impact we were going maybe 25. Mom was the driver and car owner, the car is totaled (10+ inches of penetration, frame is screwed , and airbags deployed) and mom had to be extricated. Our car was a 2019 Nissan Sentra that mom had just paid off (we got the paper work saying she paid it off in the mail the following Tuesday...). Cops did not mention anything about us being at fault, but there was supposed to be stop sign, but it was not on a pole. Instead it was bolted to cheap A frame sign that was blown oven and face down and away from the road (there was not even a sand bag to try and secure it), we did not even see it was there till after the accident (I wish I had the thought to take a pic of the sign, I was calling dad, family friend was calling 911, and sister was getting pics of the car that hit us as they were making an attempt to flee but their car was too badly damaged as well and making sure mom was ok as she was trapped in the car). We are talking with a lawyer about suing the city due to the unsecured stop.
We all had some whiplash, mom had a concussion with some bruised ribs and minor cuts, sister has cuts and bruising where her leg hit the center console, and my right knee I had surgery on about 5 years ago is giving me problems again (still swollen and painful) after my knee awkwardly hit the passenger side door on impact , the family friend was just a bit sore with a couple bruises from the side curtain air bag. We did get checked out at the ER, nothing is broken and no internal injuries on our end. My mom has to get a ride to work from a co worker till she can get new car
Mom has Farmers Insurance with Full Coverage. It seems the no one has contacted our insurance company representing the other vehicle, so there might be a chance they are uninsured as well (might explain when they tried to flee but that is speculation on my part). We do have uninsured motorist coverage so we should fine there.
My questions are:
1) Will mom's insurance cost go up due to this (this is her first accident and she has been with Farmers for over 20 years)?
2) How long will this take to be resolved and how much could we expect to get for mom's car
3) What should I do about my knee, I understand should see my doctor about it but my sister and I can't drive due to physical disability, dad is low on Paid Time Off at work due to getting over COVID, Mom is also low on Paid Time Off due to COVID and doesn't have car to take me even if she had time off. My doctor is over a hour away so public transit/ Uber are not really an option either.
4) How will the medical expenses from going to ER be paid? (Someone from Farmers said we have $5000 medical coverage per person in the car, will they cut us each a $5000 check, do we send Farmers the bill when we get them and they pay that, or should the ER be billing and collecting from Farmers directly and we just won't see a bill unless it is more than they will cover?)

I've been self publishing on Royal Road and Wattpad for a couple of weeks. My experience so far:
Initially much more activity on Wattpad with comments, votes etc. Quickly realised these were all vote for votes and not actual readers as no one read subsequent chapters.
Royal Road slower at first but now more readers and some genuine returners who come back for new chapters. (420 reads on RR compared to 72 on Wattpad)
I've realised this is partly because the other books on Wattpad are all romance and light erotica, so I have my book on the wrong platform there. I have seen people recommend another platform called Inkitt, but that also looks like mostly animal stuff and romance.
Are there any other platforms for self publishing than RR which are good for fantasy but also generally a bit more literary with less of the erotica?

So as the title says, I’m currently looking at attending RTD this year but have some questions in regards to a few things I hoped the veteran attendees could answer for me to gauge if it’s worth it. (I’ve always wanted to attend but just never actually went through with it). Now I know I can’t expect it to be anything similar to the previous years in terms of artist line up, stands and sponsors etc. although it seems a bit has changed when looking at older RTD event maps in terms of stalls/attractions etc has changed a bit what I’d like clarity on essentially is the following.
- I’m assuming when purchasing the weekend pass with general camping its first come first serve? And that everyone most likely in the general zone is gunning for Gen Camp 1. How far away from the entrance are these camp sites?
- If 3 tickets are bought do we each get a “spot” or is the assumption that we would share one tent that’s no bigger than 3mx3m? Or do we individually get to have our own tent?
- The price difference between gen camping and the other packages, like is it even worth it to get like 5 star camping at those prices how does this elevate the experience? I mean couldn’t I get the same experience tent wise in general camping if I had the time to set up or are you limited in what you can bring along to camp which leads to Q4
- What items are you allowed to bring along if you’d stay in General camping?
- Shower bays how well maintained are they during the course of the event? Are there certain times you can shower or are they available throughout the day to use?
- How safe it is for women to camp alone? And your valuables in the tent?
- Are you allowed to go to your car throughout the event or once you enter the RYD fields are you locked in until the event is done?
- There are 2 different festival tickets are you at a disadvantage when coming on let’s say Friday instead of Thursday?
- Costs of alcohol and food what can one expect to fork out as I’m sure you’re not allowed to bring in your own?
- Is it better for us to purchase tickets now or wait until lineup has been announced?
- Basically if this would be your first time and also most likely your last time attending RTD, how would you maximise the fun? Without paying an arm and a leg for it? Just seems like there’s diminishing returns with how the pricing structure is when it comes to camping for 2-3 nights.
