42F - I'm completely and totally dependent on my mother both emotionally and mentally. Growing up, she always did everything for me and never told me to help around the house (she wanted me to focus on my studies). Here I am at the age of 42 : I've never had a job, I can't cook and I'm on disability (bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety and depression). I was a (very anxious) straight-A student but I've completely failed to launch. I have no friends and I've never been in a relationship. My father was a tyrant (they're now divorced) so my whole mental space was always "occupied" by my mother. I was obsessed with her, her safety and her well-being. There was a lot of enmeshment. Whenever I feel down or worry about something I feel the urge to call her. I call her several times a day. She forced me to live on my own 5 years ago for me to be more independent but I often wish I was still living with her. I feel super lonely without her, I cry a lot and feel completely lost. I don't know where to start to become an adult. I don't know what kind of relationship I should have with my mother. I feel like a lost soul and a lost child. I know my whole world will explode when she'll pass away and my biggest wish is to die before her. Please don't be too harsh in your replies and sorry if my writing is funny, English isn't my 1st language.

As funny as it sounds it's actually kinda scary for me atleast. So our family has bought a new home toh udhar painting ka kaam ho rha hai, iske liye i had to like buy some equipment and kuch na kaam aa hi jaata tha aur mere naye ghar ke paas itne street dogs hai, the first time I and a worker were moving the ladder from my current house to the new house(5 mins a rasta hai) toh usmai. 4-5 dogs started chasing us, they were behind so mujhe utna farq nhi pada kyuni peeche toh woh baitha tha. The second time i was going home after things were done and bhai jidhar main rehta abhi udhar ke streets bhi started chasing me, atleast 4 honge. The third time i was alone, gking back to my new home with some work equipment aur bhai iss baar toh 6-7 kutte peeche pad gye, ek toh bc sabse zyada close tha pta nhi uska kya biagada tha maine aur saale ki aakh bhi nhi khul rhi poori, neend main tha shayad bc still almost kaat le kisi tarah bach gya main. Fk them dogs bruh, i didn't even do anything to them why they on me like i am some terrorist. Anyone one who goes out frequently will obviously hate street dogs as they are a pain, although aaj tak kabhi kaata nhi kisne but I've been way too close for that. Actual chor aata hai toh sabse pehle yahi log bhaagte... sorry for the rant, kar bhi kya sakte humlog hehe.

So, I'm looking for a game of some kind that... has a good story? And is anime, ish, kinda, probably?
I know as much about what I want as you do, seriously. I'll list off a few games that I loved, and maybe someway somehow someone can help me out haha. Time for a lot of text though...
CrossCode - Absolutely loved this one, it was a neat blend of action and puzzles, with really great characters and an entertaining story. Respectably sized world with TONS to do, and it really cared to pay attention to the details, which I really appreciated. Also had a banger sense of humor lol. Loved the pixelated art style it had, and overall, yeah, just loved this one lol.
Sea of Stars - Another one that's... kinda anime? Like it isn't quite, but sorta is? Anyways, prettiest pixel art I've seen in a game I swear, the gameplay was really fun, and I learned retroactively that it's essentially, shockingly, a Paper Mario-like lol, which is a great thing. The gameplay was unique to me since I had never played Paper Mario previously, so I had a grand ol' time with that aspect of things. I'm even going through it again with a friend right now thanks to the co-op update it got. Really enjoyed this one, the characters were fun, but I didn't get quite sucked into it as much as I did with CrossCode if I'm being honest.
Haven - Super simple game, very chill, once again is kinda in that weird spot where the artwork is sorta between western looks and anime. Regardless, this one was all about the romance and characters, with an incredible soundtrack, and was just super nice to chill and play. It's incredibly good at getting you to care about the two main characters and the situation they're in, which makes any twists or anything hit really hard later on, as you would generally hope for, from a game like this. But yeah, adored this one.
Little Goody Two Shoes - This one's VERY anime, and extremely intentionally, as it's parodying 90's shoujo romances with an EXTREMELY well done fantasy storybook aesthetic. It's sort of a dating sim, but while that's technically the main goal I suppose, I enjoyed this one the most due to the sheer incredible vibes the game gave off. It was never SCARY as a horror game, nor was the story itself technically that incredible, but via presentation alone I was glued to my chair to see what would happen next, they genuinely just wrote a really interesting horroromance/fantasy story, and it worked. Music because I gotta shill it.
Cassette Beasts - Loved the HELL out of this one, stomps all over Pokemon any day as far as monster collector games go. There's a lot to say, but I'll boil it down to having a really fun and unique spin on its setting, with a FANTASTIC gameplay loop, and, of course, the music is impressive as hell. I enjoyed this one enough to play their previous game, Lenna's Inception, which was a pretty simple, albeit randomly generated, OG Zelda-like, which hooked me in thanks to, again, their fun and unique story, with lots of genuinely interesting and entertaining twists to keep it fresh. Back to Cassette Beasts, it had a cast of romanceable characters, all of which were a joy to learn about and interact with and whatnot, and really made the story stick the landing after managing to make you care so much for the characters.
Until Then - I struggle to call this a "game", it's much closer to a movie that you can control a little bit sometimes lol. Like I'd call it a visual novel, but it's certainly more than a novel. Anyways, this one, romance subplot, but what takes the cake BIG TIME, is just how damn good the story was. The characters were realistic and down to Earth, almost concerningly relatable FREQUENTLY, and it... well, it was just well written. I loved the story to hell and back and I'll recommend this passionately to anybody lol. The visual style was also very well done, with a neat mix of 2D characters and 3D environments that blend really well thanks to the pixelated art style that's applied to the environment as much as it is the characters. I'd say it's kind of anime-looking, but it's actually a Filipino-made game, set in the Phillipines, which I mean, not to say it couldn't use an anime aesthetic of course, but it's caught in that same sort of artistic imbo that Sea of Stars and maybe Haven are in, where it looks a bit anime, but isn't entirely.
Astlibra Revision - Visually? It's almost entirely an asset flip lmao, I'd go as far as to say that the game genuinely maybe even looks bad, and I do believe the music is all royalty free as well. But the creator was on his A-game because the gameplay itself is EXTREMELY fun and addicting, with a super dynamic and entertaining JRPG-sort of equipment and experience system that allows for a lot of flexibility. Not only that, but while the music is royalty free, banger after banger after banger was chosen for the OST, so what do I care, the music was great at the end of the day. Finally, the story was great! Fun twists, and despite the game being surprisingly long (like, 60-80 hours I wanna say?) it never felt too grindy or anything unless you yourself wanted to grind for equipment. The extremely grandiose scale of the game's story, romance aspects, and genuinely great twists, made for a seriously fantastic experience. This one is unabashedly anime as well.
Honorable mentions to Trails in the Sky FC and SC, Danganronpa and Persona 3, 4, and 5, quite enjoyed those, especially Persona, kinda just bringing them up pre-emptively so they don't get mentioned.
Some other big mentions that I might kind of expect are Cyberpunk 2077, and Baldur's Gate 3. I enjoyed the crap out of those, but haven't actually finished them. I made my way through the entirety of Phantom Liberty, and then put the game down once I got back to it, and as for BG3, it's fantastic in nearly every way, but my computer decided it didn't like loading things in a timely fashion once I hit the final chapter, so uh, let's just leave that one on the backburner.
I guess to try and summarize what I'm looking for the best I can, I'd like something with an anime aesthetic, or at least something vaguely in that ballpark. Good story with characters that I can really care about, romance is a huge plus but not mandatory at all, and probably most importantly, just a fun and unique gameplay loop. At the end of the day, excluding the VERY story-driven ones, I loved all of these for the unique and fun gameplay they brought to the table, so I want to say I don't exactly want a JRPG with all the normal JRPG bells and whistles, but if it does it in a way that's genuinely fun and exciting and interesting and fresh, perfect.
Honestly I could ramble out more and more details, but if you have any specific questions, please ask me lol, I'll happily answer to the best of my ability, I'm dying for a new game to really get me engaged since I'm kind of on a string of misses recently.
