Hey everyone! My wife and I are US citizens living in Michigan. I've wanted to live in the UK my entire life (as long as I can remember) and now my wife wants to as well. We took an extended vacation in the UK last year and visited many cities, and fell in love with the way of life. When we returned, we focused on trying to make something happen to get over there.
Now with everything happening in the US, that has only sped up our timetable. The goal is to be there by the end of 2025. The only unknown is how exactly we do it.
One option is the school route. I applied to a variety of Universities for a Master's program, and got into all of them. Pros - easy (or easier) visa process and ability to work while getting an education. I get a good education, and it seems like the ability to find a job in the UK afterwards is high. Pros as well can be a definitive timeframe, and could be a city we haven't visited yet and could enjoy. Cons, the cost of school, and spousal visa allowance seems frustrating (needing a scholarship sponsored by a Government).
The other option is the job route, though we've seen zero success in this. I've applied to jobs, and my wife has applied to jobs as well. Zero interviews. We've been consistently applying to jobs since we returned from our trip at the end of 2023, and have never made it past the application. I have a finance degree, and own a small real estate management company. I can work remote, and have the bandwidth to do this while living over there / going to school over there. My wife is a senior graphic designer, and has her degree in graphic design. She used to be able to work remote, but her large agency just pulled everyone back to the office and will most likely fire her if she tries to be remote full time. One of her coworkers moved to Texas to take care of a sick relative for a few months and was fired.
My questions to this community are:
- Are there any companies hiring in the UK right now that are US-citizen friendly?
- Are there any headhunters / recruiters that can help place us in a job, even if it's temporary?
- Is there anything specific we should be putting in the job applications to help us stand out? A big question is always "do you have the right to work in the UK" which is obviously a no right now, as we need to be sponsored.
- On that note, is there any alternative way to be sponsored so we have a legal right to work / live in the UK?

Hi,
I have been a frequent marijuana user for a while and recently got offered the job of my dreams. I have been sober for a month now and my test is next Monday. I have been using Zydot almost daily and have a hair appointment Sunday to try some treatments to release heavy metal toxins and whatnot. I am very close to starting the full Mujuco method, but need advice before I buy the aloe shampoo. I’ve been researching so much on it that I’ve only seemed to stress myself out more. The kicker is that the shampoo won’t get here until Saturday. I believe I can do several washes I between Saturday and Monday, using Zydot right before the test on Monday as well. For reference, I am 5’8”, 180lbs, and have longer brunette hair.
Does anyone believe this is doable? I am willing to try just about anything in order to pass this test besides shaving my head. If anyone has any tips or advice, please comment. I’m feeling desperate and defeated. While I’m proud of being sober for this long, I’m afraid it won’t be enough.

I’m currently on birth control (BCP) and Lupron for IVF prep, which has been putting me through a lot of hormonal shifts. I know many of us deal with fluctuating estrogen levels, so I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced bladder issues linked to hormone changes? • I started BCP on 1/8/24, after stopping HRT (estrogen + progesterone) I was previously taking. • A week ago, I started feeling bladder pressure/fullness that comes in waves—no burning, just a constant irritated feeling. • I was tested for a UTI, but my urine culture was negative (less than 10,000 CFU). I still did a 7-day course of antibiotics, but symptoms remain. • I just started Lupron today, and I’m stopping BCP on Monday.
I’m wondering if estrogen fluctuations could be causing bladder irritation or sensitivity? Has anyone dealt with something similar during perimenopause? If so, what helped?

I need help. Or reassurance. I javent had my period since November, I bled a little during December but nothing noteworthy. Ever since then my abdomen appears bigger. I'm afraid I might have some sort of hormone imbalance and might be developing some sort of hormonal belly. It doesn't 'hang' per se and moreso looks like I'm bloated but it isn't the same size all around. If that makes sense. For context: I am 19 so being menopausal etc is unlikely. I did do a bloodtest but the results were unnoteworthy. Apparently I missed out due to stress. If I had another hormonal problem they would've said so right? Only advice was to take birth control but I refused because I thought the side effects weren't worth it.
I have an eating disorder and body image issues. This is extremely important to me and I don't quite know who to ask. Will it go away? How can I make sure it's not what I think it is? Could It just be due to eating habits? I lost 10kg over the course of 8 months but that's not extreme I don't think? I don't know.. I'm seriously worried.

Has anyone cured ureaplasma parvum with 1 500 MG of azithromycin? If I were to ask for more days, what should I ask for? That’s all my doctor wanted to give me because I showed a doxy resistance & I have gastritis. Too harsh of antibiotics will complete wreck my stomach further. A note would be my level of UP is “low”. Please be kind I’m very anxious about taking abx at all because my stomach makes treating this harder.
