Hi,
I am currently considering between these two systems. I am basically taking stock of my current space and circumstances. I live in a small house and have limited space. The Kadet seems recommended for this, but I am trying to see if I could get away with the K03 aswell.
I was wondering if anyone with either system could provide some measurements into what kind of footprint these have and space they require in operation and in storage . How much table space is needed, how wide the arm arcs back and forth, how far it goes back etc...
Also I was wondering if anyone could comment on how easy and feasible it is to take them apart and put them back together between sharpenings. Like for example could the K03 arm be realistically removed between sharpenings, and how much space this would save etc..

Hey all,
I’m currently in the process of joining the Peace Corps. I’ve been picked to be an English literary resource teacher in the Eastern Caribbean! I’ve already accepted my conditional invitation, I’m just going through the painstaking process of getting in all my forms. I had to resend a legal form, and I just got news that it can take 2-4 months for everything to get set. This is pretty close considering I’m set to leave June 14th, and not to mention all the changes happening in the country right now. So I’m curious, if I get deferred, am I able to change where I’m going?
Honestly I’m not having high expectations and am happy to serve where I’m needed most, that’s what this is about. Although I just received an email about a youth development program they have in the Dominican Republic/Guatemala/El Salvador. I think this is something I would be great at and was truthfully the one I wanted to go into initially. Although, application dates end by Feb 1st. Does anyone have any information they can offer regarding the flexibility of what happens if I am deferred? Thanks!

Recently i installed kingdom hearts 3 on steam. I haven't had any issues with kh 1 , 2 and the other games. but somehow this game decided ,not on the first time playing but every time after it, to just like dim the dialogue voices. they're kind of still there you can hear them if you listen closely but they sound like very distant and kind of like they're underwater. every other sound like footsteps or wind or whatever during cutscenes, i am hearing just fine it's just the dialogue voices. and i guess the interaction dialogues. weirdly enough the people in twilight town that are talking about all kinds of stuff without pressing any button can be heard normally... does anyone know how to fix this bug, or does anyone have any tips would be very appreciated

Rewatching from the beginning since the show originally ended and I must have totally blocked out how unwatchable every Oliver scene in Season 1 is. The gaslighting of Ryan by Oliver and shear ignorance and denial by Marissa, and even Seth at times, is so cringe I’ve been skipping through every scene.
The only bright spot is you get to see Luke at his redemption arc peak 🙌🏻

2025.01.30 23:41 Long-Report8274 Heating iron causes humming when plugged in BUT...
I have a clothes iron that I usually use 2-3 times a week. The other night, when I unplugged it, I got a buzz/humming noise, which I know is not good. I tried it in another receptacle to see if I could identify the problem and got the same result. (Note: It did not have a buzz/hum when I first plugged it in to use it that evening.)
I went back to the original receptacle with other things (and again with the second receptacl) and plugged them in with no abnormal results (granted, I understand the 1500 watt iron dwarfs their input no matter what).
I remembered today that the two outlets I used the other night are on the same circuit, despite being on opposite sides of the room, so I wanted to try a dedicated outlet before ordering a new iron, just to gather more information and to be sure the iron was the problem, since I goofed the other night picking a receptacle on the same chain.
I have a receptacle that I think is dedicated, I just need to double check it's not the end of a line (we have a ton of daisy-chaining in this house), but I went with it for now. Plugging the iron into the bottom outlet produced no buzz/hum. Plugging it into the top one, did.
I'm still going to be buying a lower wattage iron, but I'm wondering how I could get two different results from the same receptacle. I'm not super electrically savvy, but I think I know enough to understand basic concepts. Can anyone explain to me what's going on with the bottom outlet being fine? I've never seen/heard of that being a thing. Does that mean I could use the iron in that outlet even if I couldn't use it in the top one on that receptacle?

2025.01.30 23:41 Meeesh- Hard, but fair games that have crisp mechanics?
The fromsoft games are always brought up as hard, but fair games. While I’ve tried them, I always get bored and haven’t finished any of them as they feel very clunky mechanically. Mostly just to say that the player inputs feel very slow which works fine for bosses but feels like sluggish and boring when trying to go through the world. Sekiro is my favorite out of the series as it is a bit simpler and more focused and feels more responsive.
Games I’m thinking about are like Hollow Knight, Cuphead, the old Contra games, and Furi. Stellar Blade is the closest example I can think of for a 3d game with similar kind of mechanics to the souls games (but of course the difficulty isn’t quite there). Also maybe can consider stuff like Doom Eternal and Halo on harder difficulties or some of Destiny 2’s endgame.
Are there any other games that you would think of?

Please be kind - Severely depressed mom has never cared for deep cleaning or the dangers of mold despite living next to a river stream in a humid, hot, tropical island. But this cannot be good. I know some might be moss and algae, but please help me make sure. At this point I want to power wash her entire house, plunge it in vinegar if I could. I'm throwing moldy, mildewy things away. But is the structure salvageable? Does she need 20 air filters?
