Went to Doctor today for ultrasound (11th day of cycle to check follicles) she gave Decapeptyl injection but 2 of it… for ovulation… This is the first time i have taken this … any idea why double dose or is it how much it is?
I was not thinking much about it but the nurse keep saying one now n the other one next day… when it was clearly written 2… 😅

San Francisco’s transportation agency is set to cut Muni service by 4% this summer, a dramatic move as the transit system confronts a $50 million budget shortfall.
To help close that gap, planners at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency are contemplating three scenarios, each slashing bus service on some lines in order to preserve others, and save Muni about $15 million.
“These are all horrible decisions, but it’s where we are,” said Sean Kennedy, chief planning and implementation officer for Muni. He characterized all three bus service proposals as attempts to stretch existing resources in ways that benefit the most people, although they all require sacrifices.
And the cost-saving interventions wouldn’t be limited to transit alone.

Hi Everyone - new homeowner here about 3 months in. Question about national grid heating bill. My last two months bills for December and January were $333 and $385. We keep the heat on 68 and don’t alter it. It’s a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath 2400 sq foot house. Does this seem normal? I’ve heard a lot of people are on budget plans for roughly $185 a month. Unless non winter months are way less than $185 I’m not sure how that would work for me. Besides heat our stove and water use gas, dryer is electric. Any input is appreciated!

It was almost exactly 10 years ago, dead of winter in 2015. I was 19, a stocker at a popular grocery store and had recently broken up with my girlfriend of 2 years. My friends and I were discussing watching the OG Star Wars trilogy that weekend. Enter Danny the neckbeard and (sort of) Mackenzie. I don’t know how else to describe his appearance other than Buddy Hackett in neckbeard form (LOL). His odor wasn’t necessarily pleasant but honestly not unbearable. He checked most other neckbeard boxes like anime and RuneScape (no offense Cuestar) plus the way he viewed girls our age. And he was pulling an expert level eavesdrop like always.
Danny: So, I heard Star Wars mentioned. I take it you somehow haven’t seen them yet hmmm?
Me: (trying to cut down the awkwardness) What can I say? I was sheltered.
My supervisor: Don’t you have a couple of lanes to bag for Danny?
Danny lets out an audible “hmph”, and yeah, it was on brand and neckbeardy. My friends and I go back to talking while Danny goes back to the front. I kind of look over in his direction as he goes and I see the new cashier who I have a crush on, Mackenzie just giggling with her friends in a separate conversation. Maybe I checked her out a little too long, my friends noticed & said something along the lines of “You only broke up with so and so two months ago. Wait a while.” Anyway I gotta speed up the story. That evening I had to stop by the front of the store and I saw Danny sitting there. He immediately started talking to me about a ton of random stuff I don’t even remember, then the subject landed on women. He said he was desperate to find a woman and that no one ever gives him a chance plus the whole ‘women are shallow’ speech. I was too nice to say no to him when he asked to exchange numbers so I did it. That was a mistake. Get this, he said he was appointing me as his “personal matchmaker.” Yikes. I didn’t think it would be too bad after that but then bro literally started texting me every single quality he wanted out of a girl like I was his damn waiter at a restaurant and told me to start looking asap. And he so tastefully included the line “Make sure she’s not the type to wait til marriage because I’ve got needs.” Audacity was on sale that day.
The next day something very unexpected happened at work. I got the rare chance to sit with Mackenzie on break and everyone else conveniently left. We were just having an arbitrary conversation about co workers and stuff like that and sort of like in the movies, we stopped and stared at eachother. Then it happened, out of nowhere we freaking kissed. I was in disbelief and we were both just smiling. We both realized it was probably unprofessional to do that at work so we agreed to meet when we got off. I met her at the theater and we kissed again and we suddenly hit it off wonderfully when we had only been acquaintances a few hours ago. There was a long conversation and lots of hugging and we agreed to be boyfriend and girlfriend but keep it secret because work was strict about it. I was walking on air and in shock. I as a hopeless romantic just scored with my crush. But alas I’m afraid this is a neckbeard story. When it was time for me to go I kissed my new gf again and drove home without even checking my phone. I saw I had like 9 unread messages from Danny which wasn’t psychotic levels but it was a bit much. What did they say? Well, half of them were emo MySpace type stuff where he talked about hating himself and all that jazz and that he’s never felt like he belonged anywhere. A couple anime quotes made it in to that rant. The next few texts were more about finding women and asking me for updates in my “search” to find him a gf. But the last text was the real zinger. He said something like “A-ha! I’ve made my decision. I want to pursue Mackenzie as she seems she would appreciate a gentleman and I am very attracted to her beauty!” I facepalmed so damn hard that I dropped that dinky little iPhone 4s right on the floor. Then I went to sleep to be rested for work the next day.
I was happy I had Mackenzie but now my hands were really tied. I didn’t wanna tell anyone we were together but if I was gonna tell someone it sure as shit wouldn’t be Danny. I already had 3 identical text messages from saying “Did you talk to Mackenzie for me?” All I can tell you is there were 3 days of lame excuses as to why I didn’t “talk to her for him”. I kept trying to half heartedly recommended other girls but Danny was not havin’ it. He kept saying “It’s destiny! You gotta do this for me!” Meanwhile we’re 19 and not 12 so he should be more than ready to talk to girls himself. Finally I had to rip the band aid off and tell him. There was absolute radio silence. He was quiet and wouldn’t acknowledge me or anyone at work. During earlier shifts he’d sit in the cubbyholes between checkout lanes and just claim he was sick. He hadn’t said a word to me in 3 days when I got called to help cleanup a situation in the restrooms. I walked in there and immediately saw blood everywhere. In the urinal, in the sink, on the floor, in the toilet. Danny was just sitting there in the corner with a blank expression. He wouldn’t say a word to me. When a first aid responder got there I heard he said it was a bad nose bleed because he was sick. I tried to put that horrible scene out of my mind and the next morning at work he was just sitting near the register all mopey. Still wouldn’t answer or talk to me. When a manager confronted him about this he only replied that he was terribly sick and was going to see a specialist soon. He still didn’t talk to me that day. While all this was going on I was sharing stuff with Mackenzie but not going in to specifics. Just that he had a crush on her and the bad timing of it all. Anyway, a week passed of Danny not saying anything to me, and Mackenzie and I got brave and stopped hiding our relationship. We kissed in the parking lot, knowing a few people would see but we got more than we bargained for. The whole front end staff saw us and started clapping and saying “awww”. Still don’t know if it was sarcastic or not. But Valentine’s Day was coming and I didn’t wanna hide anymore. I started walking in with her and realized Danny saw too. I kinda felt bad after that but I digress. We’re on the homestretch of the story now. I had a great young love Valentine’s Day with Mackenzie and we ended the day by changing our Facebook relationship status. When I was laying down to go to sleep, my phone went off. It was Danny, replying to my week old text messages. To (almost) quote he said “What the hell do you want me to say to you? She was the one for me. No one ever gives me a chance. Go be happy with her while I cry myself to sleep like the piece of shit I am. I’m gonna be dead soon anyways.” I know I was already an adult but I told a more trusted adult about this and decided nothing I said was going to make him better. I stopped trying to talk to him and he did the same. A month or two later he quit and dropped off the face of the Earth. I always worried myself to death if he indirectly harmed himself because of me. But I never could find him on any social media platform again and his number didn’t work.
Epilogue:
Fast forward 10 years. Last week I had occasion to revisit that small midwestern town where I used to work. I stopped in the store to get a few things and then I went to my old favorite fast food place. I ordered something at the window and drove around. Who’s there to greet me at the window? None other than Danny, still very much alive and not looking any worse tbh. I’m way more muscular and have a long beard now so he didn’t recognize me. Or if he did he gave an Oscar worthy performance of playing it off. So who knows how he’s even doing these days, but at least I know he didn’t unalive and by all accounts he moved on from that job and that situation. Not too bad of an ending.

2025.01.30 21:41 Billy3827 Oddysey implanted 1/16 and 1/30 update
Had the second eye done this morning and the recovery is MUCH BETTER. There is slight haze and some blurriness, but that seems to be clearing up as the day goes on (only notice this if I cover the 1st eye from 1/16.
I’m able to read small print up close. Everything is brighter and colors pop on my G3 oled tv, almost like I got a new one. On the way to the surgery center early this morning I saw no halos or starbursts. If they were there I didn’t really notice them.
NOW:
There have been a few posts on here where people have been called the next day and told the wrong IOL had been implanted, which caused me to ask my surgeon “Exactly which IOL is being put into my eye?” He said a Tecnis multi focal. I pressed him on this several times and he finally said “I am using the IOL that I would put in my dad’s eye if he was lying here in front of me.” This was moments before the surgery. I looked at the device card for the first eye (ZLB00) and find that it’s a Tecnis Multifocal 1 Piece IOL .325-D. Which was out about 5 years ago.
At the consult I asked about the Odyssey and after a brief discussion he said that’s what he would use and I was excited about it and he saw that.
But it’s hard for me to be mad about this because my vision is greatly improved: vivid and bright colors, clear vision at distance, intermediate and close up. No halos or starbursts unless they show up with the 2nd eye. NO MORE GLASSES! I don’t think I’ll need reading glasses either. And honestly, if during the consult he had said This is what I think will work best for you, I probably would have said something like You’re the doctor. You know way more than me. I’ll bring it up tomorrow but not in an angry way, which believe me, if I didn’t have such a great result, I’d be demanding an exchange or calling Morgan and Morgan.
So it seems I’ve wasted the time of anyone seeking real life experience of someone with the Oddysey.

The other trending rant post made me curious what is the current widely used package manager and deps resolution.
Let say you use Cmake, but need to add some libraries which have their own deps tree. It's possible two libraries require same dependency but with different version tha breaks ABI compatibility.
For personal project I'm a fan of vcpkg in manifest mode. It just works(tm) and setup is pretty straightforward with good integration in major IDEs. Vcpkg.io contains all libraries that I probably ever need.
At work we use Conan since it has good integration with out internal Artifactory.
I'm not fan of the python-dependant recipe in v2.0, but I but I see concrete benefit on enforcing the compliance yada-yada, since approved 3rd party package can just be mirrored, and developers can pull a maintained cibsn profile with all compiler, and cpp standard, etc uniformly set.
I have been trying to "ignore" other option such as Spack, Hunter, and Buckaroo, but now I'm curious are they any better?
What about cmake own FetchContent_MakeAvailable()'?
Note: No flamewafanboyism/long rant please (short rant is OK lol) . Stick with technical fact and limit the anecdote.
If you don't use package manager that's fine, then this discusion isn't interesting for you.
Just to be clear, this discussion is not about "why you should or should not use package manager" but rather "if you use one, which, and why do you use that one?" Thanks.

Hey :) I'm a music journalist and tomorrow I have an interview scheduled with Mike. While I don't have problems with preparation for that in particular - I have known about them since Eternal Blue came out, I have seen them live, I have written reviews for two releases, and everything else I can research -, I lack something you guys have: the eyes of fans. I do know the band, but from a professional standpoint, and I like them fine, but personally I listen to Black Metal usually, so I might miss a certain closeness to ask Spiritbox thoughtful questions. After dozens of interviews and listening to Tsunami Sea a bunch, this might be my insecurities speaking - I have stuff to fall back on, it's all fully prepared, but it's a big one, even for me, and I don't want to mess it up. So: Anything I have to keep in mind while talking to Mike or even any questions for me to pass on? :)

When Season 1 dropped me and my gf decided to one-trick Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman together for fun. For some background info, we both have played a bunch of Overwatch before Marvel Rivals released. After not playing much comp in Season 0 we thought it'd be interesting to give ourselves a challenge in Season 1 to go with the new characters dropping. The challenge took 158 matches with a 55.1% winrate. Along the way I think I picked up some general tips that I think could help players that may be having some trouble in lower ranks.
1. Don't Tilt
Putting this first because I genuinely consider it one of the most important things to keep in mind. Throughout the process there were plenty of games where the enemy team had a very strong start and occasionally a teammate would get angry and gg early or something. DO NOT follow suit, every game is winnable (even if the chance is low). Its better to stay focused and think about how you could win the game rather than spending energy flaming teammates or complaining about how the game is going. Take a break after a match if it was a tilting match and reset. You can literally see the difference in most people's gameplay when they are playing tilted.
2. Survival is Key
I want to preface this by saying you should not play so extremely safe that you never contribute to a fight. This game is loaded with healing, many kills will slip your grasp and committing too much will often swing the fight against you. Most of the time it is better to stay alive, continue occupying the space you have control over, and have the opportunity to make repeated attempts at killing the enemy. I have found that it is better to consistently output value than to repeatedly make high-risk plays. There is times to make those plays, but your main focus should be on the consistent value your character brings to the fight.
3. You Don't Always Need to "Follow the Meta"
Many people want to stick to 2/2/2 comps and now many people are also running triple support comps often. While these comps do generally well, other comps are still viable. Most of the time its more important for everyone to play characters they are comfortable on rather than force a specific comp. 1/3/2 and even 3/1/2 comps can be made to work (at least up to this rank from what I've seen).
These tips are extremely general but I think players could find improvement even just applying these key things. As a Mr. Fantastic player I definitely had plenty of matches where my character's value was a bit limited but I would focus on surviving as best as I could and assisting my team more in the games where I felt like I couldn't be as large of a threat. I could make a post with tips specific to Mr. Fantastic or tips specific to game sense or mechanics if anyone would be interested. Have fun climbing!
