Hey I have a new home build and I’m getting the basement finished right now, it should be ready in about a month and a half, it has 2 bedrooms, 1 “office” that can also be used as a bedroom, kitchen, living room, 1 full bath, - water electric and wifi included, I own the house and I live on the top floor with my wife. It’s about 1600 sqft. I’ve never rented to anyone and this is my first home, and I’m looking for a couple and I don’t want parties and stuff happening, I don’t mind friend gatherings or family etc, but no one whose looking to party. Pricing wise I don’t really know you can make offers in the comments or lead me the right way and DM me. I don’t want to give it to any management companies or anything like that so don’t hit me up for that.

I'm 30 now and have been drinking for most weekends since I was 15. It's so normalized for me and the friends I hang out with, and family even. I went three months without drinking last year but started up again, just weekend drinking. It's made me gain back the 10lbs I lost when I stopped drinking, and the hangovers always make me feel terrible about myself.
I will easily go a week or so without drinking but as soon as there's a get together or event where I'm with friends and they're all drinking, I cave and drink. I tracked my drinking for January and I drank 7 times total, three of which were over 7 drinks.
I struggle with the idea of sobriety because I don't feel like I have a problem, but I also think that may just be because it's so normalized around me so no one would even think I have a problem. I don't drink throughout the week, just one day on the weekends occasionally, or if I'm on a trip.
But I know that not drinking would benefit me a lot, considering it did during the three months I took off. I just have this "missing out" feeling when friends are all out drinking and I feel like I can't join them without wanting to join them.
I come from a family of drinkers, my mom died almost 6 years ago from chronic alcoholism so my relationship with alcohol is so different and difficult than my friends. I just need a little guidance here, I think.

2025.01.30 23:19 Owlmoose Why are my smoke alarms going off?
My household has bought and used a wide array of smoke detectors; Ionization, photoelectric, both cheap and expensive models. They, literally ALL of them, go off in the middle of the night when there is no smoke to detect. We live rurally, there is no smoke or fumes or vehicle exhaust vaguely close.
It's infuriating, partly for the rude awakening, but mostly for the subconscious pavlovian training that "there's no danger, this is just a malfunction".
Do you, dear hive mind, have any idea what could be causing this? The last time was 4.30 this morning and I'm tired and grouchy.

This behavior totally sparked up out of nowhere, for a few days she's been sleeping a lot more than normal, sometimes she shakes so I turned on a heater so she's not cold, a few days ago she's fallen off her perch a bunch so we took her to a vet where they found nothing wrong ☹️ She seemed to be getting better but today she's back to not being able to move around as much We've been to a vet with no answer so I've come here to ask if this could be a sign of something?

2025.01.30 23:19 Ok_Atmosphere3601 Parking fine - Not the legal owner of car
So I bought a new used car and parked in a C lot. I paid for a permit butfor my OLD car and of course got fined!
I appealed the fine and TAPS said:
a) The obligation is on the student to select the right vehicle in the App b) No they would not refund the permit I paid for!
So I'm doubly screwed.
I just realized though, the car is still in the name of the dealership. I'll get new plates etc in a few weeks.
So should I pay the fine? Will it catch up with me if I dont?
