As the title suggests, I have pre-nerves.
On the 14th Feb, the most romantic day of the year, I am scheduled to get snipped at the Marie Stopes centre in Bristol (MSI).
I'm a big Reddit user and the problem with that is I've seen the horror stories that is PVPS.
I've also seen the objective rational thinkers - one of which referenced this article below which highlights, objectively, the inherent low risk of a vasectomy.

Hello to everyone on this subreddit! I don't have selective mutism, but I do want to ask a few questions for a narrative project of mine that includes a selectively mute character. I know this area is frequently misrepresented and I want to ensure that I can create the most realistic, identifiable, and true portrayal. I'm sorry in advance if some of these are ignorant, please bear with me. If I'm getting something blatantly wrong, PLEASE tell me, I'm trying to learn.
- How does selective mutism develop? Can it stem from trauma? What kind of trauma? Why exactly does it develop? I want to avoid being ham-fisted or too on the nose with this.
- As it stands, this character is a high schooler and has been mostly selectively mute since middle school. Is this plausible?
- Can there be exceptions to selective mutism? For example, this character has parents, would it make sense for them to be selectively mute around their classmates but not their parents? To what level would they speak?
- Is selective mutism specifically for speaking, or does it deal with communication in general? For example, would a selectively mute person feel comfortable with writing down things? Alternatively, how do selectively mute people communicate if not by speaking or writing?
- How would a selectively mute person behave in a school environment? Let's say they don't speak in school, how do they do class presentations, popcorn reading and the like?
- In what circumstances would a selectively mute person speak? Can speaking return in situations where they normally wouldn't speak, and why would that happen?
- What cures selective mutism?

2025.01.30 23:11 anxiousnessgalore What are some things required to know as someone planning to work in ML (industry or research) but not usually taught in bootcamps?
Not sure what flair works, or if this is a good place to ask this, but I'm kinda curious.
Generally, most bootcamps I've seen focus on all of the smaller fundamentals like getting used to working with ML frameworks and general ideas of models and how to use them. That said, that is obviously not everything one would need in, say, research or a job. In your opinion, what topics/ideas do you think should be possibly either included in bootcamps, or as supplemental knowledge one should pick up on their own? Especially for people who do know the basics but ofc want to specialize, and aren't in the place where they can enroll in an entire degree program and take in-depth classes, or join an internship that would help them explore some of the things a new hire would be expected to know.
Some thoughts that I had were maybe good coding practices as a main thing, and not just a run down of how python/SQL/whatever works, but like more in depth ideas about coding. Other than that, maybe specialized software/hardware that's used, like how it works, the intricacies of different chips or CUDA/GPU's, or even TPU's, or stuff that's useful for areas like neuromorphic computing. Specialized algorithms are usually not focused on unless someone's taking a specific focused course, or they're willing to go through the literature. Basically this is a rambling of things that I'd love to see condensed into a bootcamp and want to know more about, but what about everyone else here? What are your thoughts?

 | In recent times, many players have been getting banned on smurf accounts. This comes as no surprise since Ubisoft said they would in the recent panel, and they've been making good of their word evidently by many legit players (including content creators like Skittlz, Oozie, Spoit, Rasco, etc,.) being banned for "cheating". The cause of this is to indirectly ban real cheaters who buy new accounts and rack up high KDs while cheating, effectively making smurf accounts collateral. This normally wouldn't be an issue but Ubisoft has sent a clear message by refusing to unban legitimate players (like myself) Banned for \"cheating\" - smurf account while removing the ban on content creators - some of which whom admit they specifically want to play low ranks. Skittlz gets unbanned The message they are sending here is that if you are a content creator, you're free to break the rules and are "special" while normal players are bound by the rules. It's great that these content creators have connections and a community that allows them to get unbanned, but normal players dont have the means to do this. To make matters worse, Ubisoft support is god awful and takes days to weeks to get any meaningful response. If we're going to enforce rules and regulations, all I ask is that we maintain that same integrity across the board. So, when you go to “My Cards” to look at your cards, you can toggle the view that shows cards you don’t have. However, this layout change does not take effect for my cards that are 1 star and above. They are all still next to eachother without showing the missing cards between them. BUT, when I see players on YouTube, it shows the cards missing for all of their cards, including the one stars and above. So am I missing something?
When I unlock and new card, it does show the missing numbers for every card, but i know when I see the youtubers, it’s not ONLY when they unlock a new card, like it is for me.
