My home clippers, from at least two decades, fell to the floor and burst into about a thousand pieces. I do a zero all over cut, and I need to replace them, but don’t any money to do so. Are there a pair of clippers I can get for at home use that any barbers could recommend. Not sure if this is looked down on, but I was browsing Amazon looking at some low price Wahl and Ufree (i imagine its some Amazon brand) clippers. Could I ask any professionals, or even customers who have some tried and true clippers for a recommendation?

I work in child care and we have a 5 year old child with diagnosed autism that displays behaviour of pulling other children's hair very strongly.
I am looking for an alternate outlet for this child to express these signals amd urges and was hoping for some suggestions. Getting synthetic hair is pretty cheap but I feel like the resistance is a key aspect of the behaviour.

2025.01.30 23:41 Elete23 Unpopular(?) Opinion: I don't really want the Ninja Turtles to be dark and gritty
The Last Ronin is the current Ninja Turtles story on everyone's mind and there's even a AAA video game supposedly in development based on it. I'm well into my 30s, and I do love when things from my childhood grow up with me (loved X-Men 97). But it doesn't land with me for the Turtles. I don't really want to watch something where the Turtles are fucking dying.
The turtles exist as is because of the 87 series. The catchphrases, the pizza, the colors. That was my introduction to them and most of the world's. That was still the height of their popularity. 1988-1992 Turtlemania rivaled any other cultural phenomenon.
The turtles getting killed or being in gory violent fights almost feel like having Elmo getting shanked. They were very early childhood characters for a lot of us, and it just feels wrong to me
The original comic was dark and gritty, I know. BUT it was also a parody. It was dark and gritty as a tongue-in-cheek commentary on the dark and gritty comics popular at the time.
Taking the Turtles too seriously kills a lot of the joy of the franchise. And while there can be stakes and danger in some adaptations, the best ones are tempered by the kid-focused goofiness of the 87 show (think the 90 movie or the 2012 Nick show.) I don't think the turtles should ever chase grittiness so much that it ends up looking like TWD or something.

Spanish in College
I am a current freshman taking a Spanish 2 (Spanish 1002) class at my university, and I’m currently struggling.
For context, I took 2 years of Spanish in high school, but I haven’t taken a Spanish class since May 2023. I had to take a placement test to get into my class. A 26-40 would place me into my class and I got a 27, so I barely made the mark.
However, I feel I’m really struggling in my class. I feel I’ve forgotten so many basic skills because I’m haven’t taken a Spanish class in 1 1/2 years. My professor speaks primarily in Spanish and I can barely understand her. I feel in general my listening skills are way below where they should be. We also have to do a lot of speaking in my class and I feel my speaking skills are way below where they should be as well, especially compared to my classmates.
A lot of my classmates have been out of Spanish for some time too, but they don’t seem to be struggling as much. For example, we had a writing assignment and most people wrote a full page but I only wrote half a page. They answer the professors questions in class. And I got last on a Kahoot.
As part of my class, we have online conversations with native speakers and other people in our class. Mine genuinely went so bad. I could hardly understand my speaker and I could hardly answer her questions because I simply didn’t know the Spanish. Meanwhile, the other people in my group were having full conversations with her.
I would drop to a lower class, but my only option would be to drop to Spanish 1001, which is the very first basic class. I don’t feel I’m up to level in my class, but I feel I know enough that I wouldn’t belong in Spanish 1001. I would go to tutoring, but I’m not really sure what I need help with. I can’t pinpoint exact issues so I’m not sure how much tutoring would help.
I want to learn Spanish, but I’m worried my grade won’t be good if I stay in this class. I’m considering just dropping the class completely. Does anyone have any advice?

For those of you that don't know in 2018 Escondido became the first city in San Diego County to join the Trump Administration’s challenge to California’s sanctuary law. At this time Dane White father in law was on city council and voted in favor of this. Dane white father in law aggressively campaigned to get Dane White elected as mayor without disclosing family relations (also belongs to same mega church). It's safe to say your mayor would be happy to work with ice and bp to allow the harassment of you and your family based upon your skin color.
I would encourage protestors organizers to consider scheduling another protest for Wednesday at grape day park. Escondido city council meets at 5pm on Wednesday. The best place for the hispanic/latino community to be heard is at city hall. If grape day park is full of hispanic heritage on a Wednesday night chanting it makes it hard for city council to ignore the Hispanic community. For the record Hispanics by in large are the majority in Escondido and the Mayor has never once actively spoken out about issues that primarily affect Hispanics. Furthermore he has repeatedly said he can solve homelessness and that the government needs to get out homelessness.
Simultaneously he has said we need to rely on nonprofits and community based organizations to solve homelessness. The very mega church he belongs to does not have a Spanish service nor did it open its doors as of yet this winter to provide homeless shelter services. Not surprisingly it also did not open its doors last winter either. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the mega church he is a part of is guess what, lacking Hispanic members. By a landslide it's predominantly white. Dane White has on multiple times publicly mirrored Trumps talking points. Dane White regularly cuts off community comments during city hall meetings and openly complains about city hall meetings taking to long. Escondido city council has a long history of making choices against the Hispanic community even though Escondido is by far Hispanic. It's time for your voices to be heard and put the pressure on the mayor not to engage in the harassment of Latino families across the city.

This is a storage room floor in a basement. The goal was for a industrial / terrazzo look. Mostly just wanted to protect the concrete and make it easy to clean up spills. The epoxy finish has a bunch of pock marks where it seems like the concrete kinda rejected the epoxy. Is that normal? Does it need another coat or am i too critical? I paid a professional.

I tried to whip the cream but it didn’t work because it’s half and half. But I kind of like how it was with the liquid which is how the recipe had it. This was really good! And what brand to stay away from? I shoot 300blk and 556 (would like to have one for both of these) and I would like one for 9mm pistol.
