I have a second round interview with Alvarez & Marsal for an analyst role in Infrastructure and Capital Projects. I am from an engineering background, so have not had to do consulting case style interviews before.
What should my approach to preparation be? I am solid on maths, anything related to infrastructure and financial terminology, but have had no practice on case study style assessments. I don't have much time so unsure where my effort is best placed with the different types of cases.
Any advice or guidance would be much appreacited!

2025.01.31 00:15 nobdy-here Shot list naming the shots
When I make a shotlist I make it in order of the script then reorganize it into shooting order. That’s when I would start naming the shots as in 1a, 1b, 1c, etc. Am I wrong to do this after reorganizing into shooting order? I thought you always letter up for shooting order, but if I were to instead name the shots first in script order then they would be out of order when put in shooting order (e.g. 1k, 1b, 1H, etc.).
The person I am DPing for says they want the shots in the shotlist to match the storyboard but the storyboard won't be in shooting order. I tried explaining this but they said they didn't want discrepancies between shotlist and storyboard scene names.

2025.01.31 00:15 cracked_belle Can you recommend decent frozen meals to purchase ?
Man, I can't really cook on a good day and that was before i started cancer treatment. Then today after chemo, I burned a grilled cheese sandwich and then forgot to butter both sides of the bread, and the cheese didn't melt all the way.
So say meal prepping is out of the question or I'll be eating gross food that is both burned and frozen and for reasons I don't have a local network I can rely on for a meal train or anything.
Did you rely on any purchased frozen meals or no- cook meals? If so, which so, please advise? (other than yogurt, I have lots of non-dairy yogurt.) I already don't have an appetite and am losing weight, which is just going to be worse if I am stuck eating my own original kitchen travesties.

2025.01.31 00:15 ChatUpDragon Anyone else didn’t/don’t like live action comedy shows due to the laughing played in the background at random times
(BTW: I read the wiki so I think I’m good, unless I need to clarify with Mom let me mod to post, let me know)
As a young kid, I never liked the live action kid shows from when I was younger due to the laughing that was randomly played in the background, I always preferred animated shows cause it never really play any random laughing in the background (well, for Barbie life in the dream house, there was this one episode where laughing is played in the background, but it never bothered me for some reason), I’m currently in my late teens (16-19, won’t say what age) and I can handle it now (for some reason) and I noticed this cause I have family members that watch a lot of live action kid shows (Icarly, Victorious, etc), but yeah, I realized it that it was probably due to my disability, as I was diagnosed with autism as a baby or toddler (my parents said I had it since I was really young)

Alright guys, so last week I started reading "the anatomy of story" and it's probably one of the best resources I've ever read. I've been at this for about a year and half (writing and publishing online (to FurAffinity)) and I've Learned™ a bit.
That's not the point though.
So I was reading and reading and the guy started talking about how people take tropes and genres they like and just write stories with them without making anything particularly unique; and I'll agree.
I don't think it's a sin to write something while using elements of something you love, that's what I write myself; but the guy really opened my eyes. What's unique about the way my story is that makes it stand out in a particular genre? Yes, a fantasy novel and adventure novel will be a part of the genre–but now I'm thinking about all the sorts of styles cool stories (not just novels) are written in that have a unique taste.
Like, it's not enough To™ have awesome characters and dialogue and development.
How is it written? Yours in particular. How did you use the classic ingredients of the genre to make it unique?

Has anyone experienced having a hematometra during pregnancy? I’m 32F and it’s my second pregnancy (14-5), first was a section. In week 11 I experienced heavy bleeding with large clots. I went to the ER thinking I was miscarrying and found out I have a hematometra in the opposite horn to my pregnancy horn.
It’s very painful with cramping, lots of pressure, lots of bleeding. Unfortunately, I haven’t found too much information about it online and I’m still a couple weeks out before seeing my OB. So I’m just wondering about others experience with this.

I’ve noticed a pattern that more often than not I’m personally a lot better on defence rather than taking space but I personally don’t do as well on attacking unless it’s a freak occurrence and I usually find teams I’m a part of struggle on attack.
I duo queue a lot and main sentinels. Mostly sage atm with a bit of Killjoy and Vyse sprinkled in there and my duo team mate mains controller (omen).
Do you have any good resources or tips for attacking?
What works well for you on attacking?
I find that often we get smoked off at a site and the whole team just stands there waiting for smokes to dissappear but then they just drop another. We just had one where team went to rotate, get to other site but because it was so slow, guess what, smoked off with no clue what to do. I know it happens but it’s getting a bit frustrating having 9-3, 10-2 leads and losing games.
I like to be aggressive as sage, play close to the team so I can heal and place walls on site to secure plant.
We are gold 1 & 3.

In ep 3 of season 2 (I believe) we learn that the econopeople go to church, but with all the other classes they showcase never once do they go to church or even mention it, from what I recall. I do notice that they frequently have religious rituals and ceremonies (no not that ceremony but I suppose they'd sadly count that). Why do we think this is? Is it just something that's forgotten? At first I was thinking only of the wives, commanders and children that "these are who is considered the holiest, maybe they're pulling what they did with the 'commoners' back then for the sake of control and traditional values', but the handmaids and marthas are certainly not considered econopeople let alone holy by their standards, and they don't go to church. Anyways, thoughts?
